That is the only race worth seeing It's hard to care about modified versus bone stock it should be faster
Frm the races I've seen I'd say this easily beats a Z06. The regular stingray jumps out in front of the Z but the Z pretty easily overtakes it but this Hennessey takes the stingray frm start to finish. I'd like to see tht race too.....

Supercharged vs twin-turbo next?
Very interesting to compare with procharger, lingenfelter, Callaway all have supercharge kits I was leaning more towards Callaway because of the warranty they offer all are 20+ grand plus shipping there and back pretty pricey,but with the Z06 being made with unobtainium and vicious markups I'm thinking more of supercharging my z51.
Should have raced it with a z06 to prove why it's worth to get this over that
This is nice. I'm considering the Lingenfelter setup as I prefer the 2650.
I would rather see it against the z06, because I think the larger V8 that is super charged is better than a smaller high revving engine

Several thoughts - if Hennessey wants to compare the H700 performance to a C8 ZO6 why not do the same test H700 vs C8 ZO6? The drive train loss in almost every dyno test of a C8 (and C8 ZO6) is 11%. Hennessey's own dyno test of a stock C8 in their comparison shows 11% loss. So how does a 708 HP engine only make 573 HP on their own chassis dyno? Think about this - that's a 19% drive line loss? BTW 573/.89 (11% loss) = 643 HP ??? No drag strip numbers posted? Inquiring minds want to know. Real question - does the $35,000 package include half shaft and DCT clutch upgrades? Thanks and look forward to a reply.

Seems like an awesome package however is the final product gonna look like that when you open the hood? Or is that just a demo place holder I would hope the final product looks good especially for customers who want show off the engine

The real concern is your dyno runs do not support a 700hp engine, showing at 573 at the wheel, thats a 130 loss in drive train. But stock the C8 is 495 at the engine and typically sees 440-460 at the wheel. Thoughts on this?
I was thinking that is seemed like a 150 hp difference.
This would be better if you posted speeds and add a Z06 to the comparison

It would be nice to see you use launch control on both vehicles. Im curious if the supercharged version could launch better than the stock version. This comparison did not clarify how Launch Control is affected.

I notice each one is not using launch control and leaving at idle basically. Also makes me wonder if one or both is under the 500 mile break in period because both sounded like they were short shifting. If they both leave at idle and both over or under the break in it is fair but if one is under and other is over break in period it makes a big difference. Here in Vegas (LVMS) the difference of break in period to non break in period is almost .5 and launch control is another .4 so there is almost an entire second difference in ET

Centrifugal supercharger sounds badass, sure beats a twin screw type setup...and always gonna sound better than a turbo because you don't have to kill the exhaust setup

i thought the gap would be larger with a 200+HP advantage.
You have to see what the power curves are also. Remember, that's just peak horsepower compared to peak horsepower. The rest of the time, it's making less than 200 more.
@@jkeithv65 but that will only affect the beginning of first gear, after that they will remain in the power band between 7k and 8600k rpm. i would love to see an overlay of the dyno sheets.
Does it Dyno at 700 wheel or crank?
How does Hennessy handle the encrypted ecu that utilizes rolling code which is will never be cracked?
The ECU is flashed with a tune from ProCharger. We just upgraded our car to stage 2 and saw results of 639whp or about 720Hp to the crank.
@@ParagonPerformance , thanks for your reply. It’s great to know they’re doing a bench flash. There’s over a million lines of code in the ecu. Do you know if they are replacing all of the code? Also, do you know if the code is reversible? If not, the ecu would have to be replaced if the procharger was ever removed. The hp gains are amazing!

@@nicklovely6431 their warranty is crap if you read it. They will not cover anything on the vehicle if they suspect it has been driven in a performance manner i.e. racing or any burnouts. Their warranty really only covers failure of the supercharge/turbo and components associated to that. However, that's really a warranty by the original manufacturer of those components. Therefore, I would not rely on their "warranty"
However, you can buy a procharger setup and cutback and have a legit corvette tuner do the work for about 23k or so 🤷♂️ and they have a warranty as well. However, you can race with those and not be denied.

Give the stock one the hit and outcome will be much closer. Rolling wasn't that much of a gap.

you need to raise the stock power of the standard equipment for all versions 550hp not comme il faut otherwise it’s not a competitor to almost any sports car

This car looks like it performs better than c8 Z06, because the c8 z06 the line against a c8 stingray, they're even for like 5 seconds. This supercharged stingray wins off the bat

I’ll be the Debbie downer:
- hope the finished supercharger doesn’t look like that considering it’s on display.
- either the supercharged driver was jumping the starts or the regular C8 driver has a slow reaction time.
- Having the regular C8 on charge up to 1K RPM is foul. That car is capable of hooking up at higher RPMs.
Either way the supercharged car would win all of these but these little thing’s certainly exaggerated the gap of victory.

You can get a 1000 hp with a twin turbo set up for a lot less than a Lambo/Ferrari, and a significant cheaper running costs. But, are you really looking at a 1,000hp Lambo/Ferrari, those are million dollar cars. Not quite the same market as a C8.

I was curious as well about that. Doesn't make much sense. It seem as its to play into the strengths of they're package.
@@marg5905 Or they didn't want to smoke the clutch on video. I bet they didn't even bother putting a stronger one in.
@@stevend3753 The "clutch" is a dual stack of wet clutch disks internal to the transmission, no smoke to be seen. The weak link at these power levels is the drive axles.
The gap isn't worth the price of the Hennessey kit. Just like the Eray with same engine as a Stingray isn't worth it with the boat anchor motor in front.

Hi, My best guess would be they sent the ECM to a company in WA state that has unlocked the ECM, and can tune it. I have the same pro charger on My C8, in the stage one form I was not very happy with it( no ECM tuning at that time) but a few months later my local speed shop in NC, notified me about the tuning and Stage 2. I thought what to heck I am not happy with it this way, so I took it back for Stage 2, and all I can say is WOW, it’s like a different car, made an additional 100 RWP, almost 2 hundred over stock baseline, transmission works great now, etc. pricy, but I would do it again
@@kurtthomas4746 I'm in NC as well and looking to purchase a C8 in the next couple months. After driving one, I felt the stock C8 needed an additional 100-150 HP. The chassis was very compliant, but I felt like it could handle considerably more power. How much of a difference did you see between yours and a stock C8? Is it worth the time, effort and $? Thanks!
@@bryanland1011 , Hi, Time and effort is no big deal, however the money part was pretty significant, doing the stage 1st and then stage 2 , probably cost me an extra 2-3k, my suggestion would be to check with the guys at Mass Acceleration Motorsports in Denver NC, they did mine and had 2-3 more in queue that probably are done now, but it’s 20k +, I had a Borla exhaust at same time and that was almost 4k, so I don’t remember what the pro charger would be installed, but they are good guys, and now that they have done some, that’s what I would suggest. PS, only do stage 2.

Hennessey is in Houston, so it would be on 93 octane if they aren't using race fuel or meth.
