Sam, look at the frozen dessert aisle in supermarkets. People still buy frozen desserts - they just don't want to spend $20 to get 2 cups of frozen yogurt? It just doesn't seem equitable. The fast food restaurants did the same thing - they raised prices on regular food and people walked away. Now these restaurants are starting to reckon with that. The frozen yogurt chains priced themselves out of the market.

There was a Pinkberry here but there was only one and I honestly don’t recall it lasting very long. Sweet Cece’s still has multiple chains in the state and it definitely isn’t like it used to be but they’re there and every once and awhile I still stop by one. Good times.

Pink berry pre 2014 was a blast!! The one we had nearby was at the Stanford shopping center and every week we’d stop by whether it be after dinner or just cause. Prices werent terrible back then and it was a nice flavor change change to cold stone and baskin robbins which ruled at the time. Nothin like walking around a mall eating some ice cream (or froyo i should say) and chatting about whatever. I know you mentioned dating but truly a big fall of these kinds of places is not only the cost but the social aspect of it. Theres a multitude of a reasons for it but truth is people arent going out as much these days and thats going to hurt a casual pass by place like this.

Just looked it up, the one we went to (the first one to open here) is still around, but all the others closed after the boom. I think we had 4 or 5 at the peak in like 2015 before they started shutting down. They all had the Green-Pink-Orange theming.

We have llaollao in Latin America and Spain and it's honestly as strong as ever. TCBY used to be here as long as I remember, and we had other local companies try to compete, but no one achieved the success of llaollao. It seems like every new mall and plaza that opens up must have a location, and you can find their ads all over the city.
