They said that they might be able to save that universe, they never said if they were successful or not.They probably prevented the black hole from destroying that entire universe by killing the person who was supposed to die.
Mumbattan should survive imo. We don’t understand the mechanics of canon events entirely enough to understand it as a plot hole.
