They weren't Christian. It's just most of the songs reflect his depression and his fight with his inner demons. A fight he gradually lost and took his own life.

To be fair there is the institutionalized Christianity of American culture that they were raised in. Even if they were not raised specifically Christian the symbolism and language of it are a deeply rooted part of American culture.

In this song, Chester Bennington sings about things we've done that we regret - how we want to forget it all and move on. According to Bennington, the theme of the song is "admitting to your faults of the past and kind of accepting it and moving on and trying to become something better."

It sounds cheesy, but my life was literally saved in what were about to be my final moments by one of their songs and the lyrics I heard. What I've Done really stands out to me as having excellent use of each instrument. Very distinctive piano intro and outro, the build created by the guitar, and then the buildup of the drums to change it up, exactly creating this feeling that "something changed", which supports the lyrics so well. And the lyrics are absolutely inspiring, regardless of whether one interprets the forgiveness as religious or not. But I will say, I enjoy the fact that the person is not asking for forgiveness, from another person or a god, but granting themselves forgiveness. External forgiveness can be something to strive for, but it's important to consider the power of internal forgiveness. Beating yourself up over mistakes you've made is an easy pattern to fall into and stay inside, but does it really make anything better? Learn, change your ways, and then move forward with forgiveness for yourself. Don't drag that weight to punish yourself.

Definitely worth checking out many of their other hits. consider this song has over a half a billion views.. which does not even place it in the Top 3 by the band .. "In the End" ( 1.2 billion) .. "Numb" ( 1.6 billion ) .. and their Debut to the world "One Step closer" was completed in 1 take.. Chester's "emotional outburst" during the song is pure anguish, and him releasing so much stress after a Real life family argument... and it comes out in the creation of the song
their debut album ""Hybrid Theory"" I would say was a game changer to music... Amazing album

Chester Bennington and Linkin Park are an iconic part of music history. Listen to literally everything from them and you will not be disappointed. Specifically watch The Messenger, and from their One More Light Tour, Crawling and One More Light. This was Chester's last tour before he tragically took his own life. He was an incredible poet, artist, and performer. He will forever be missed. RIP

Your analysis is correct, in that *LINKIN PARK* songs have always spoken to MY SOUL, told of aspects of communication that cannot be delighted or faked at all. That should be shared honestly, if perhaps, harshly or sharply. Points that are often glossed over or overlooked. Subscribed.

Bro you’re absolutely right this man was born to perform to share that beautiful amazing voice of his that is missed every day. You have to dive into Lincoln Park and their entire catalog they will blow you away this band is and was unbelievably amazing. Rest in peace Chester in the end it really did matter

This band has been a deep favorite of mine since thw first time I heard them. They got me through depression and heartbreak because I knew I wasn't alone. When Chester died... and I say died because I don't believe he committed suicide.... I cried.

We lost a legend when Chester passed, that's for sure. Singing voice of an angel, but screaming of a demon. He could even hit notes while screaming. He was also such a humble, loving, and gentle man. The security at shows weren't there to keep fans from running on stage or anything like that. The fans loved and respected the entire band way too much. No, the security was there to keep Chester from wandering into the crowd and getting lost. The entire band never forgot they wouldn't be there if it wasn't for us, the fans. They never stopped thanking us or letting us know they loved us. Chester was on another level though. You can see it in several concert recordings and even in the official video for One More Light. He loved the fans more than anything, I'm sure. I'm glad they never decided to go on without him, to never try to find a replacement. It wouldn't have worked. I know he would have wanted them to, but it wouldn't have been the same. He was a legend that was too good for this world, in performance and soul.

Linkin Park came out at a time when rock/rap and Nu Metal were developing genres, and I often think if they had come out a few years before or after they did, they would have been so much bigger than they were. They were hugely popular, but I feel like they were under-appreciated.

Linkin Park were one of the biggest rock bands of the 2000’s. Even in 2017 before Chester passed they were huge. They also have the best selling rock record in Hybrid Theory with over 30 Million copies sold
