I don't think it's a lack of confidence from the first show, I think it was purely just the nerves because she knew how the fans possibly could react. She never has lacked in confidence, over her whole career she has that in abundance. I think it's more like her nerves calm down and she let herself be herself but you were absolutely correct, she has been destroying shows ever since then. Mike is right when he said, with her singing it sounds like Linkin Park.
First song in LP, first concert back after 7 years, surprise concert, and also the first reveal to the world of her being in LP. There was so much pressure on her (and the band, but especially her) during this concert, and especially this song, that if she weren't terrified she'd be an idiot 😂

When I watched this whole concert, I was in shock, is Emily even human? She has a beautiful voice, she switches her voice very quickly from screaming to singing, and the way she screamed, not many people can even speak after that, and she continued to sing, bravo👏🏻

If you dig deeper in her singing style evolution with Dead Sara, her covers and collaboration with other artists and now with LP, they are totally different singing styles. It shows the depth of her vocal talent and how she can adapt to different types of music.
Emily was the singer for Dead Sara, they have some fantastic songs and she has a great range - heavy punkish and some softer songs, recommend Weatherman, Lemon Twist and Anybody

I understand that some fans will not accept a new vocalist, due to obvious emotional and affective ties with Chester Bennington at some significant time in their lives, but the band and the musicians need to continue, work, live... And in that sense, the band members had a lot of respect for the legacy of Chester and Linkin Park throughout the process of waiting to this moment, to choose the new vocalist and compose the new repertoire for the new album. That said, I'm not a passionate fan of Linkin Park, but I really like 2 or 3 albums, I'm liking what I've heard in terms of music and the care that Emily Armstrong takes with each song and the band's history. I'm definitely adding my name to the list of people recommending their second single, Heavy Is The Crown; I think it's better than Emptiness Machine. And their official live performance footage of it is from several more concerts into her new position, so she's far less anxious. (Definitely either react to the studio audio version or the live version; the official music video, collaborated with League of Legends, has a brief video-related interruption right after the bridge that might be annoying to you... it is to me 😅)
She had not gotten over it yet before the live Worlds performance. I gave her until that one to clean it up after listening to this disappointment, since it was certainly going to be intimidating.
This song, for me, it's like "I want you to meet someone" for someone who's facing widowhood. Shinoda creates the meeting with careness and Emily appears bringing a feeling of a new arch to someone who needs a new partner. I'm just very touched with this song. I'm definitely adding my name to the list of people recommending their second single, Heavy Is The Crown; I think it's better than Emptiness Machine. And their official live performance footage of it is from several more concerts into her new position, so she's far less anxious. (Definitely either react to the studio audio version or the live version; the official music video, collaborated with League of Legends, has a brief video-related interruption right after the bridge that might be annoying to you... it is to me 😅)
She had not gotten over it yet before the live Worlds performance. I gave her until that one to clean it up after listening to this disappointment, since it was certainly going to be intimidating.

This song, for me, it's like "I want you to meet someone" for someone who's facing widowhood. Shinoda creates the meeting with careness and Emily appears bringing a feeling of a new arch to someone who needs a new partner.
I'm just very touched with this song.

If you are saying this about Emily, I think would be a cool thing to take a look at Bonnie Fraser singing "bleed it out" at the already over sessions of Mike Shinoda at his channel. I think you will feel almost the same about the power in a female vocal singing...
