When you drive from Germany to Netherlands or from Netherlands to Germany and decide to use the freeway, you won't even notice that you entered the other country if you don't keep your eyes open for small country signs
Nice, I wish it was the same way here but unfortunately we have an income disparity with Mexico. If there wasn't border security, we would have millions of people migrating into the US everyday. I love traveling, I hope to see Germany and the Netherlands one day.
Aww I thought you had tenants in the US and they fled to Mexico and you went down there to confront them about not paying their rent and leaving the house in rough shape. That would of been a better video haha.
haha, that would have been an awesome story! "Douchebag tenets trash house and skip out on rent by fleeing to Mexico. Abel (a mediocre TH-camr) in a Dog The Bounty Hunter style, crosses the Country line and Karate chops jerks until they cough up over due rent."
wow 100$ per month? I stay in England and pay 460 pounds per month. Rents over here are very expensive. The cheapest you can find is around 400 pounds.
theoaristi53 460 pounds is about $722 US Dollars. Many people here in San Diego California pay $1,400 a month for a 2 bed room apartment!!! Even for Mexico, $100 was cheap AND they still kept coming up short!!! I think they were taking advantage of my mom. I'm glad the whole ordeal is over.
Thanks for coming back to the video. since the lock down, I havent driven to Mexico in a long time. I would love to make a video like this again. What did you like about the video?
Quick question guys, I saw that no one stopped him crossing into Mexico and he didnt show his passport to anyone? So you dont always have to show ID crossing into Mexico?
I haven't driven into Mexico for a while but I believe that they still don't ask for your passport unless they stop you. You do have to show your passport if you walk into Mexico.
I’ve driven in several times in the last year and the only time you are asked for ID is IF you’re stopped. They choose randomly, but even then it’s super quick. I’ve been asked for vehicle registration and only quickly “searched” ( a peek in our trunk) once. On your way back to the US ID is required but I have passed without a passport EVERY time and my son a student in the 8th grade passed too with only a birth certificate. Abel, thanks for sharing....can you make a video walking over on the “new” pedestrian walkway? Thx!
I can see on Google Earth satellite view where they are re building the crossing to Mexico again, where there are going to be exit controls, on the USA side, if needed. This new road to the border will connect directly into the current entry point in Mexico. Ever since 9/11, the USA has been putting exit controls at the land borders, and I can see from satellite views that one is being built into the San Ysidro crossing to connect into the current border crossing into Mexico.
That is going to change in 2020, when the government introduces "Real ID", where you will have to have either a passport, passport card, Sentri card, or a state drivers license that is Real ID compliant. Birth certificate will no longer be any good, and everyone will need one of those afformentioned forms of compliant ID to re enter the USA
Abel XL lol. The very first apartment I ever rented in 1995 in Louisiana was $275 a month. I think people pay more to rent parking spots now lol. I’m not near ready to move to Mexico but by the time I am, I won’t be able to afford it lol.
Awesome. Like Mexico America has its great places and bad. Too many Americans generize Mexico being bad and unsafe unless they're visiting coastal resort towns.
There are good place and bad places in all countries, the same goes for people. Stay safe by being informed, travel in a group and lean Jiu Jitsu, haha.
Enjoyed your video and the other how to walk into Tijuana. You're a patient driver. I'd be cussing and saying all kinds of expletives~ I notice very little horn-honking. Come to L.A. or NYC it's constant.
I've never lived there. At the most I've spend the weekend there. Its very compact and noise but fun. There are safe parts and dangerous parts. I would recommend doing some crime area research before picking a place to live. The neighborhoods are very different then in the US. There are food carts and many street corners and the people are very friendly. Some of the police are corrupt. They were going to arrest my brother for walking around at night for having alcohol, I'm not sure if that was illegal or not, but they said if he wanted he could just pay the fine directly to them and they would let him and his mom go. He paid the fine, they walked home.
I don't know if tinted windows are illegal. Tijuana cops are looking for anyone that sticks out, so really nice cars or US plates. I was in a cab once at night in Tijuana and I saw 2 different US cars pulled over by cops. The driver told me that cars with US plates that drive around late at night are usually stolen. So in this case, the TJ cops were DOING their job.
Thats funny because every time I drive into Mexico, I see at least 5 different people standing in front of businesses trying to wave me in to get me to tint my windows.
Dear Mr. Aramburo, Is it hard to drive around those large roundabouts surrounding the statues? I want to start driving around in Tijuana so I don't have to rely on uber and taxis. Thanks

There are a few things you need to know. Its always better if you have a valid US passport but you can get around using it, here is how: Get around using a Passport: 1) Driving across the border from USA into Mexico: They are currently not asking you to show your passport if you are driving but they could change it at any time. 2)Driving/Walking across the border from Mexico into USA: The US cannot stop you from entering the US if you are a US citizen but they can stop you for a while while they try to prove your identity. This could be an hour or all day. When you MUST have a Passport: 1) Walking across the border from the US into Mexico: The Mexican government in the last 2 years has started requiring that non-Mexican citizens start showing passports. If you don't have a passport then you are going to be stuck in their immigration process which could mean days of being stuck there. I hope you have fun in Mexico. Are you going for the food or night life?
Based on what I see in Google Earth, that street you were on, Luciera Torriz, is all one way now, and you would not be able to make that same right turn at that light, like you once would have.
They sell gas by the liter there. You would need to do liter to gallon conversion and then a peso to dollar conversion. Short answer gas costs more there than it does in the US. I know that the gas stations in Mexico are owned by the government and so there isn't an intensive to keep the cost low.
NOT the same border I knew from the 90's ....... wow.............. We made the run to fish below Ensenada many times, just does not look the same at all ! to me.
+Tele Rover My phone has a dual camera mode so its recording out of the front camera and the back camera at the same time. I had the phone for about a year before I found that function.
Hi Mr. Aramburo, More tijuana driving questions... Do you use google maps when in Tijuana? Is it reliable? Or do you have to drive a few times to really get used to navigating to and back to garitas of Otay and San ysidro?
Hi. I dont use any gps, my mom use to live there so she has always been my guide and now I know to get around because of her. I wouldn't recommend using your phone as your gps unless your cell phone plan works in Mexico. If you really want to get around down there, I would recommend buying a stand alone gps with the Mexico maps. Also driving is TJ is more wild then the US so be ready for that.
We use to charge $100 a month for a 1 bedroom house but it wasn't very good and in a bad part of town. You can find places for rent anywhere from $300 to $1,000. I just saw a CraigsList ad for a 3 bedroom house for under $900 usd. I'm not too familiar with the crime rates in the different neighborhoods. But with those prices, even a neighborhood in a gated community would be affordable. Are you planning on moving to TJ?
Thats funny, I never noticed that it looks like the steering wheel is on the other side of the car. The car I'm driving has the steering wheel on the left side of the car. I'm recording the road out of the back camera of my phone and I'm recording myself out of the front camera of my phone. Its looks like the front facing camera is inverting the image. The only cars that I know of, in the US, that have the steering wheel on the right side of the car are US Postal Trucks.
So when you walk in they scan your passport and run a check on you for warrants and what not but if you drive in you basically just can drive right thru with no problems like 90% of the time??? When you drive in and IF they stop you and ask you for your passport do they scan and check it and look for warrants or whatever or just look at it and wave you thru???
When you drive into Mexico, they usually just wave you through, every now and then they stop you. I don’t think that the Mexican customs agent has access to the US warrant database. When you drive or walk back into the US, the US customs agent will look you up, which means that it’s possible that they could detain you for a warrant.

Just to be on the safe side of the IRS, its probably better not mention it here. The houses in Mexico are MUCH cheaper than real estate in California. I know a few people that live in Mexico and work in the US just because the rent/mortgage is a lot cheaper. Are you looking to buy a house in Mexico?
Abel Aramburo my mother purchased a big lot and built a house...it was definitely a lot cheaper than the US...just been noticing the prices going up in the tijuana area...was curious what people are paying...i may also be looking into purchasing property, but not at the current prices(possibly a big lot and build house later)
Before the quarantine, I was able to drive into Mexico without they asking me for a passport. Walking into Mexico, they required to see my passport. Freedom, I hear you brother. I don't know how much better Mexico is right now. I hear that people are getting laid-off and fired from many places, their medical system isn't as good as in the US. If you do go, make sure you have a really good plan for food and work.
Great video. This chump really took advantage of you folks. I will moving to TJ in a few years once SS kicks in. My dollar will stretch much futher than playing the U.S. Rip off game. Live in TJ work in san diego is the plan.
yea, def a lot cheaper to live in TJ. I know a lot of people who live there and work in the US. They are def doing it right. Cheap bills and US paycheck. We were thinking about doing the same thing.
As an American Citizen, the US, by law, cannot deny you entry. So you don't even need an ID. If you show them anything but a valid passport, they will look at you sideways and possibly run an investigation or they may just let you pass.
Some advice. If you intend to drive your car down there take one with OUT tinted windows. The cops will pull you over quick if your windows are tinted so they can get there kick down. Also dont hide your money in the car where they can find it easily. they will search your car with no probable cause.
Nice looking church for being built in the 1950's. BTW, ever get people yelling out the car window like they do here in the States? ("Learn how to drive, pendejo!", for example) BMP

Freedom, I hear you brother. I don't know how much better Mexico is right now. I hear that people are getting laid-off and fired from many places, their medical system isn't as good as in the US. If you do go, make sure you have a really good plan for food and work.
Awesome video
Thanks dude!
We were thinking about doing the same thing.
can u crosss from mexico into usa as an american citizen with just any Iamerican ID card?
As an American Citizen, the US, by law, cannot deny you entry. So you don't even need an ID. If you show them anything but a valid passport, they will look at you sideways and possibly run an investigation or they may just let you pass.
Very nice video.
Hopefully one day I get to visit tijuana
Where do you live?
Sounds scary theres alot of poverty
Some advice. If you intend to drive your car down there take one with OUT tinted windows. The cops will pull you over quick if your windows are tinted so they can get there kick down. Also dont hide your money in the car where they can find it easily. they will search your car with no probable cause.
All very good tips.
cool vid i subbed
Thanks dude!
cool thanks
No problem, any time.
sell it
It took almost 2 year but we finally got it sold.
Nice looking church for being built in the 1950's.
BTW, ever get people yelling out the car window like they do here in the States? ("Learn how to drive, pendejo!", for example)
BMP
haha, I can't say I remember hearing anyone yelling out the window.
FRustrating, not fustrating.
Thank you for the FRcabulary lesson 🤓
