    Northwoods Whitetails is by far the best. Fall planted their clover blend with cereal grains and it has taken off this year. He also opened his store the Friday of Memorial Weekend to sell me some buckwheat. The best seed, best customer service.

      Yep my Northwoods clover/chicory is doing very good right now. I've been using their seed for the past 2 seasons. Their cereal rye does great too

    Great video Randy, the benefit it's mineral mining deep roots contribute to your soils, resistence to drought conditions and its exceptional digestability. High percentage blends of quality chicory is a great choice that will always play a large part in my perennial food plots.

    Once again, an outstanding video! Your ability to break everything down makes it incredibly easy to understand. I always look forward to watching your content. My only suggestion would be to release videos more frequently….lol !Thank you for the excellent work, and I eagerly anticipate your next upload.

    I am a New Hampshire food plotter navigating tough sandy, rocky, acidic soils and I stand by John’s product at Northwoods 100%. I run his red clover with rye on my worst soils and then the white blends on my better soils with great results. I also started adding his chicory last year and the deer loved it in season. I have tried that other brand with the blue coated seed and it gets the job done but it’s not the best. Not to mention that you need to clean yourself off with a pressure washer after you’re done seeding it and you’re blowing blue dust out of your nose for a week…😅

    I have a very secluded area, similar to the "honey hole" you referenced. I was thinking of doing the same, but planned to go in just before some good rain, then broadcast the seed and weed whack the existing vegetation afterwards. I planned to leave the downed grasses to serve as mulch. Could this approach work?

    • @RandyVanderVeen
      @RandyVanderVeen 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes sir. As long as the mulch is not too thick or clumpy that it smothers the seed.

    Not an expert but clethedim is a growth inhibitor so waiting to spray the weeds after they grow is counterintuitive. i’ve always heard it doesnt kill tall grass.

    • @meat-gardener
      @meat-gardener 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Im def not the expert but i believe that, usually (like after mowing and the plants starts to re-grow) the plant will be more apt to take up whatever herbicide you spray. I remember reading about spraying while " weeds are actively growing".... Anyone??

      I have had good luck over seeding my clover with cereal rye in mid September and terminating the rye before it goes to seed. I am in NE Arkansas. Great video I have been suckered in by the popular seed companies not any more staying with John @ Northwoods, have used several products of theirs and all have worked great, only negative is shipping.

    • @SeeMoreBucks
      @SeeMoreBucks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Butyrac is a 2,4D product so it has a residual in the soil. You still have 3-4 weeks before you need to plant brassicas.

    You forgot to mention chicory is also very expensive per pound, is bitter, less protein than a ladino clover and can’t spray Butyrac on it so you have to use Imox which is very expensive. So why even plant it and just add more clover
