What did you expect when they hire such inferior workers. They are lazy, incompetent, rude and they despise everybody whose backs they are here to live off. Not one of them has ever contributed positively towards society. Our cost of living has gone up exponentially to pander to such inferiority!

I met Tim Horton in Georgetown Ontario around 1973. He was a hockey player in my 14 year old mind, not a businessman. I stopped going to Tim's last year when I would have to repeat the words " large dark roast, one cream" 4 or 5 times before the "new Canadian" at the window understood was I was saying. I'm all M'Cafe now. Sorry Tim.

Which is all the more ironic since Canadian McDonalds stores use the same coffee company that Tim's used before their acquisition in 2003. McCafe is literally classic Tims coffee.

My biggest issues with Tim Hortons are 1: They got rid of the dine in glass mugs and plates. 2: the overall quality and quantity of the food has gone down alot. 3: The menu is so disjointed and bloated that they cant make anything right 4: they got rid of the physical roll up the rim cups in favour of an app that seems like you never win. 5: The Donuts (and basically everything else) are not made fresh in house anymore and are shipped in parbaked and frozen. 6: THEY GOT RID OF THE HONEY MUSTARD FOR THE TURKEY BACON CLUB!!!!

    Couple scandals missing.
-Their app was caught collecting fine grain location data from customers without consent. Like it was continually logging and phoning home peoples' exact location, including when and how often they visited competitors. A class action suit was filed, which Tim's lost.
-They're a well known abuser of Canada's temporary foreign worker program. Remember those employees they didn't want to give raises to? They just got rid of them and replaced them with temp workers from South Asia. Basically they claim they can't find Canadian workers who are qualified for the job. A lot of winks and nudges get exchanged with the Feds, who then allow them to import contract labourers from overseas. The government also subsidizes wages for these temp workers, so businesses can actually pay them below minimum wage. It's not uncommon for these workers to do 12hr shifts (or more) as well. The program has come under fire for taking jobs away from Canadians, especially young people. The youth unemployment rate saw a sharp rise in the last year, and now sits at 12%.

    • @CNSPORTZEDITZ
      @CNSPORTZEDITZ หลายเดือนก่อน

Hiring temporary foreign workers is Tim Hortons' strategy to not paying livable wages to Canadian employees. In fact, it's cheaper to hire foreign workers because the government subsidizes part of their wages so these corporations can legally pay these employees below the minimum wage. It results in more profit for corporate greed. It's evil. Pure evil.

The employees are (understandably) miserable, the food is absolutely awful (and often made wrong), and the coffee is just dogshit. The company isn't even Canadian owned anymore either so everyone who was clinging to this excuse of a coffee chain on some false sense of 'national pride' doesn't even have that anymore. It's no coincidence that once Burger King fully acquired them, the entirety of Tim's went down the drain. The only things I still get there are coffee and breakfast sandwiches (that's it).
Otherwise, your average experience there will boil down to either: 1. Getting frustrated over an employee messing up your order 2. Dealing with a manic crackhead inside a location or 3. Dealing with the worst speaking/listening skills imaginable on the drive-thru speaker, because the employee is either Indian or Philipino
Unless there's a change in top level managment (or the BK Corporation gets their sh*t together), then Tim's will remain an embarrassing imitation of its former self.
P.S. I have nothing against Indians or Philipinos, but Tim Hortons is notorious for hiring those 2 demographics exclusively

Let's be honest with ourselves here for a moment. Selling themselves to Burger King was only the tip of the iceberg that destroyed Tim Hortons. The major thing that destroyed them was Trudeau's migrant workers program, as that's when they started hiring workers who just don't care about customer service. Most of the people working at Tim Hortons now are people who English is not their first or maybe even their second language who are not getting any proper ESL or customer service training, and are then expected to serve people in English their first day on the job. At my local Tim Hortons, all the workers are a certain demographic of people who are all just fumbling about and not getting any work done, then when I come in to order my coffee and my breakfast, they don't know what the hell I'm saying (again, I know these are people who English is not their first or maybe even their second language, but c'mon) and I have to repeat my order a minimum of 10 times for the supervisor to come over and process the order, and even the supervisor has a bare minimum of understanding as to what I'm saying. Tim Hortons has gone from a sweet mom and pop coffee shop that was a Canadian staple to a greasy fast food chain that's the equivalent of a Burger King in the worst ghetto in the United States. The fact that they're selling pizza now completely proves my point times a thousand.

Higher prices, smaller portions, frozen donuts, lower quality. Biggest problem is there is no customer service. Half the time you can't even understand the person that is trying to help you.

My brother worked for one of Tim Horton's coffee suppliers. Another well known Canadian family business.
He knew Ron Joyce rather well and he knows Danny Murphy who you mentioned. The Murphys live on
Prince Edward Island that I can see from my place in Nova Scotia. And I live near near Tatamagouche, NS.
Where Ron Joyce was from before he moved to Ontario in the 1950s. And the first Tim Horton's Childrens Camp
is just the other side of Tatamagouche. I've been there for community events. But I still like Tim Horton's!

Tim Hortons sucks now. The quality of the coffee fell off super hard, their breakfast menu regularily makes people sick, and they screw up orders way more than any other fast food chain. I've to had to dispute my order several times because they just flat out didnt give me what I paid for and then tried to charge me a second time. Tim Hortons is a joke now and I don't bother with them anymore.

I have to admit that I never liked it much to begin with but in Canada, Tim Hortons is like one location every 5 minutes, not even kidding. But it has been annoying seeing fobby Indians and fobby Filipinos everywhere and that makes me not want to support them even more, it is clearly *not even Canadian* anymore!!!
I don't know about the allegations of it being bought out by an Indian investor who is going to *change the name* to Taj MaHortons, but in that case I am not sure why they don't just call it Mohammed's at this point? 😑

I have hated Hortons for years! I f a coffee shop was doing well they would always move in down the street and put the independant oit of business. Never failed they always did this. They have a music festival in Oakville Ontario and Hortons is a sponsor, in the contract no other coffee or frozen drinks can be sold on the grounds. They at one time actually had decent doughnuts! Unbelievable but true and they were made on site, not frozen and topped off in the store as they are today. Iloced for 17 year 2 blocks from a Hortons location and visited it at the most 3 times.

To achieve compliancy, every store, restaurant, etc, should display a sign that they could not find Canadians to do work. That would ensure compliancy, as any Canadian, who applied, could read it and scrutinize, why they did not get a job instead of indians.

I remember a coffee and donut shop. Today, it's like a fast food restaurant. There's more on the food menu than there is donut selection. Why Canadians get sucked in by the marketing , i don't know.
Please, just ask yourself. The coffee your drinking. Do you enjoy the taste of it or do you buy it because you want to be apart of a fad? This i know about coffee shops. When they go bankrupt. It's fast.

As a freqent traveler to CAnada, I made it a point to get a Tim Horton coffee. The finest coffee I ever experienced was at a bus station in Halifax, at 6am in the dark. An equally memorable cup was served to me at the ferry terminal in Digby NS. (also at 6AM in the dark) When they opened a shop here in RI I was ecstatic. However the coffee they served was junk. I couldn't believe this was the same company. I got their coffee a couple more times and gave up on them. They failed for 1 reason , a cheap corporate cost cutting move to inferior beans.
