This is true, but laws on DV are pretty tame. I mean, you can stalk and abuse a woman and get a slap on the wrist. Many times The woman tries to get help and the suspect isn't prosecuted correctly until there's a death.

My heart goes out to this family. These children have now lost both their parents. This man's hatred was solely focused on his ex with no thought to his kids or maybe their step children it's not clear, either way children that counted on him. Yes, raising caring, loving men starts when they are children but sadly many of them see and learn this in their own homes. The cycle needs to be broken.

I just wish these women would arm themselves and learn how to protect themselves as much as possible. A restraining order does nothing a piece of useless paper.
There are some strange women and men out there. There was a time when we had to protect our nieces, now we have to protect our nephews from men trying to molest them. This is awful because politicians are trying to normalize these actions. Pedophiles are loving these politicians right now. They have their own flags and focus groups determined to uproot integrity and morality, creating a world of sexually transmitted deceases and premature deaths.
You can't walk around with a pistol in your hand. Most domestic abusers rely on ambush tactics. More weapons don't make the world safer.
It's just a way to blame the victim, "oh, she should have protected herself with a gun." As if a gun will stop a bullet.

My heart hurts grievously for this family. We all need to just be better. What have we become as a society? I don't know what it will take but people need to collectively relax and stop going to extremes when they see red. There's always another way and no situation needs to come down to life or death. Encouraging them to marry the man that they are having babies with, or co-parenting with the absent father. Children really suffer when absent parents don't support their school events, especially when they see other parents there for their children. This world is broken because these fathers are not playing a part in single parents lives. I hear the way these young parents speak profanity to their children, even calling them names in public. Those are violent parents and their children are at risks, so the best thing that we can do is to create programs sponsored by local churches to keep them away from verbal abuse. Unfortunately, these young mothers are disrespectful and violent who don't believe they have a problem at all. All we can do is connect these children with family members who will become extensions to the families in need. Sometimes it takes a village when parents forsake their children. ❤️
Remember OJ & Nicole Brown, he nearly decapitated her and he got away with it. This girls father failed his daughter by not warning her when she was younger about interracial relationships with the coloreds. My dad warned all three of his girls.

I pray love, peace and joy overtake the sorrow the kids might be feeling. God will see you through my dear people as he did me when my fiancé was shot and killed in Jamaica in 1993. Remember. She’s among the most beautiful angels now.

My fourth child he worked in the Fire Dept right across the street. I got a beautiful protective female black haired dog when I gave birth and the 3 little ones sound asleep she slept by the bed.. She would run out and pooped into the grass outside. Big deal.. I always picked it up but they just moved in and white couple on their high horse complained.. So I had to get rid of her. A few days later he took a wire hanger and broke into the back door and the rest is history Police up and left too. Neighbor said she did not see any police show up at my door.. So it's a real VICIOUS CIRCLE!!
More women are killed after getting restraining orders, the day they go to court to finalize a divorce, when they decide to leave an abusive relationship and when they refuse to be isolated from family and friends. In each of these examples when you get to the root of the problem, the one single factor that these type of men have in common is rejection. They do not, nor cannot handle being rejected. Some of these narcissistic psychos go as far as un-aliving the children to make the mother suffer, some have the "If I can't have you, no one else will" mentality, and lastly the men that takes the lives of the mother, the kids, and finally themselves.
Whether we want to admit it or not, there were warning signs, bells ringing, flags waving, horns blowing, lions roaring and red lights flashing. Some people recognize the signs early and ignore them thinking they can change the other person. Some see the signs but brush them aside because "any man is better than having no man at all" and then there's the person who grew up with no guidance and lack the skills and situational awareness to know who's dangerous and who's not. No one can hide their true self that long. They are going to slip up and show you who they really are.
So knowing the signs of manipulation or an abuser is super important to get away early, then

I'm so sorry for this family and the loss of their beautiful daughter. It seems there are unrealistic expectations that people have about restraining orders. When you get a restraining order, it does not mean that you all of a sudden have something akin to a police security unit assigned to you for round the clock security. It simple means that the perpetrator is not supposed to go near the individual who filed for the restraining order and have been ordered by law to abide by that order. AND, unless you take other precautions to protect yourself, if the person who is trying to harm you is bound and determined to find and hurt you, they will, as police are not sitting around waiting for a tragedy to occur. They can only respond once something HAS occurred, such a someone violating the restraining order. This is not an issue of police not doing their job. Again, so sorry for this family's loss.
