  • I LOVE playing tabletop roleplaying games at conventions. There are so many benefits for Game Masters, Dungeon Masters, Keepers, and RPG players to participate in playing games at a convention.

The advice on one shots being a way to try different choices with pre-generated characters you wouldn’t normally play is great!

Great points! So true that I need to get out of my comfort zone and I can do this with some anonymity, even tho I'm in a group of people.

I'll just casually mention that Sumrow:
    1. Is a great person
    2. Does great art
    3. Has art in our beloved game of Call of Cthulhu
    Come meet him at GenghisCon!

I went to GenCon for many, many years, and I love playing at conventions for many of the reasons you mentioned. Some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had were with a group of six total stranger, and some of those people became lasting friends.

Great advise. I would also say that your points also apply to joining and playing one-shots on any of the CoC focussed Discord groups like the Good Friends of Jackson Elias. Now you aren't limited by your ability to travel and can play an awesome game from the comfort of your own home. Anyway, great job! And as always, happy gaming!!

Yes, that's a great point! Discord groups are a great way to connect with others and try out new games.

As I live in a dwindling timber town in Oregon I was wondering is their is a CoC RPG ZOOM community I can begin my experience of RPGs out there. I have my 2 solo adventures yet to do, but I need a push. Thank you.

Discord is a great place to find communities to play with, as well as online gaming conventions. Gen Con is this week and has and online portion. Otherwise, two discord servers that have games post frequently are: Call of Cthulhu and Everything's Fine! TTRPG
