Thanks for posting this! I ride an 85 700 Shadow and have been looking into going to a coil spring clutch. The only thing holding me up was not knowing some of the particulars, and this video cleared them up. Thanks again!
I wish i found you back in the mid 2000's. My slave cylinder went to crap and no one mechanic the time had a solution/replacement to the clutch system as a whole since it was discontinued. Did you ever solve the slave cylinder leak problem or did you just change out the entire clutch system?
My slave cylinder never leaked per se but the clutch just always had inadequate clamping pressure regardless of how tight I torqued the main nut. I originally thought maybe the slave was binding in the bore but I disassembled it and honed the bore and piston itself until it was essentially mirror like and nothing changed. The only thing I modified was clutch pack components in the video and shaft to fit but everything else was able to stay the same.
50 miles in with no problems. My only concern is my stake job on the nut so I might go back and put a rather aggressive one in. Maybe even some other form of locking as well, it's difficult because its a hollow shaft so you can't cotter pin or safety wire it.
