    A good place to get polarized film is from the 3D glasses they give at the movies.

      Thanks for the info, I didn't know that, I think it will be easier to get from the glasses

    Great advice. Did it with the 3D glasses but now it's pretty dark and hardly readable.

      @@ranjankc121 the polarized film has a sticky side so it just got sticked on the LCD, I did the same mod on my cousin's f91w but this time I stick the polarized film on the actual watch housing (inside the plastic cover of the LCD) this because you don't need to cut so precise the sheet for the screen and you avoid the risk of damage the screen, if I got time I'm going to make an actualization of the video and anything you want to ask me just write a comment..... Thanks for watching the video!!

      Thank you for watching and comment the video, and what do you mean, how old is this watch? If that's the question and if I'm not mistaken I have this watch for about 7 or 9 years and if it looks in good shape that's because I restore the housing and the plastic screen protector using nothing but fine grade sand paper and polishing compound like the one that is used on car's paint, to gave it a clear finish that's why the edge of the plastic screen protector is rounded, hope have you enjoyed the video and if you have any other question let me know!!!!

      Yeah I think Casio makes some inverted screen g shock but they are way more expensive, this is like the cheap easy solution if you want a watch with more style, I invite you to mod your Casio it is a very good experience and it's a cheap watch if you messed it up you can buy another one, only get the polarized filter from any one screen (phone, screen, TV, another digital watch, even I think you can find it in photography stores, hope you have a good mode and thanks for watching the video!!!

    • @sped6954
      @sped6954 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do it on some of their watches from the factory. It doesn't increase how much it costs them to make the watch because they're literally using the same exact polarizing film only they rotate it 90° to get the negative effect, but they do charge extra for it. I forget which model it was that I saw it on, I want to say it was the W218, but it was brand new, in the box at Walmart on one of their budget watch shelves for $20-$25.
      Don't quote me on the model number because I could be wrong, but it was definitely at Walmart and it wasn't one of the models that the keep locked up. This watch was out in the open where anyone could just pick it up, toss it into their shopping cart, continue on with the rest of their shopping, and check out at the regular registers at the front of the store. I know for sure it was a full digital, could have been either black or gray, had a square case, and it was a little larger than the F-91.

    Estoy por aventarme a hacer una modificación así, pero en un G Shock. La única cosa que preocupa es la parte de despegar el filme polarizado del LCD, ¿alguna recomendación?, ¿ayudaría en algo usar pinzas o sería más fácil con los dedos?

    • @diyit6725
      @diyit6725  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo usaría alcohol isopropílico para aflojar el pegamento y tener mucha paciencia. Si se pueden utilizar pinzas como de punta fina solo tener cuidado de no jalar muy fuerte para romper el cristal y tener cuidado de no rayarlo

      giacomo sena hi, first of all thanks for watching and comment the video, I think you can buy the polarized film only on internet, or the cheapest way is finding any LCD screen from any broken device such old cellphones, old LCD screen, old laptops even calculators have the polarized film, you can find some videos here in TH-cam that shows you how to get polarized film from laptops screens, or the other option is buying one from internet, hope this information help you and have a good modding, any other question you can write a comment here. But while the screen was still messed up, i wanted to assembly it, when i closed the back plate, the watch started giving me "ticking" sound, and the sound itself from the pressing buttons was working, but it was weirdly screeching.

      @@KeanoMUFC1 it's normal to happen, some times when you replace the battery the circuit ran out of energy and all the data (time, date, alarms) get lost, and when you put a new battery it kind of restart all the circuit process, and there are two ways to solve it one is just waiting almost like 10 min and the other way is resetting the clock by making a bridge between the reset gold contact on the front face marked as AC and an arrow, and the back metal plate, thanks God you're Casio was in this state and not broken, btw hope your Casio ended in a good modes f91w and give you 10 years more of service!
