7029 Clun Castle -1Z48, The Great Western Express- 11/5/2024

7029 Clun Castle hauled the historic run of 1Z48 from Plymouth to London Paddington on the 11th May 2024, she ran the tour over 2 days, the day before running from Birmingham to Plymouth. The target was to set the fastest non-stop steam train from Plymouth to Bristol, however this failed after she stalled on Hemerdon Bank. But nonetheless, it was good to see the Castle on her home territory once again. All footage filmed on the 11th May 2024.

Very good filming. Always good to see a start off. I knew the fireman on the original run back in the 60s. A Plymouth man from Beaumont Road, Bill Rundle. Sadly he died about 10 years ago.
