Hello, and welcome to On the Move Transport, featuring primarily Railways, but also Aviation and others as well!
West Somerset Railway -Grange, Manor, Hall Weekend, 27/7/2024
The West Somerset Railway hosted a small 4 engine running day. The star loco used was 6880, "Betton Grange", it's debut on my channel. Alongside the newbuild Grange was a Modified Hall, 6990, "Witherslack Hall", and two Manors, 7812, "Erlestoke Manor", and 7828, "Odney Manor." The line ran a modified version of their Blue Timetable, as the two main sets used the times from that timetable. A third, smaller set also ran one round trip as an extra along with another round trip with the freight set. At the end of the day, 6880 and 6990 operated a mega train to Minehead, with the Quantock Belle added to the train and most of Set B being used for a Murder Mystery train, only 2 of the coaches were used for normal passengers, however the service was for an added fee. The return journey was the same apart from 6990 being swapped with 7812.

RIAT 2024 highlights for my visit on the Sunday. Not all aircraft feature as not all were really a highlight in my opinion. Particular highlights were the F15QA, F35-B, the classic Red Arrows and the Patrouille Suisse. All footage filmed on the 21st July 2024.

This railway is a first time visit for me, situated a walking distance from Amberley station, is a small 2ft railway, which operates on parts of an ex-Chalk Quarry. The annual Diesel Gala for the Mid Hants Railway, (Watercress Line), was held over the 12th-14th July 2024. Locos that ran as follows: 50021, "Rodney", 50008, "Thunderer", Two RailAdventure Class 43's, D8059, D8188, 47579, A Freightliner Class 59, (Not featured properly), And the railway's three shunters on Brake Van shuttles, (not featured).

Lovely selection on display. The front profile of those Bagnall saddle tanks (the tanks, not the locos!) always leave me wondering why they didn't go 'full pannier' as Kitson did with a few of their designs.... .... and I'm bloomin' sure that Southdown single decker didn't whistle last time I was there!! 😮

100% agree, I hate the IET invasion, the worst ones for me are the LNER 801’s, those were shaking terribly. Personally for new trains the only ones I like are any of the STADLER Flirts, the CAF stuff I don’t like either, they fall apart being kit built

Very good filming. Always good to see a start off. I knew the fireman on the original run back in the 60s. A Plymouth man from Beaumont Road, Bill Rundle. Sadly he died about 10 years ago.
