Volunteering at Masjid for sake of Allah is very important, because of the Hadith that actions are by intentions, and whoever moves for the sake of God and his Messenger, their move is for the sake of God and his Messenger. And whoever's move is for a worldly purpose or a spouse they want to marry, their move is for what they intended (From Bukhari 1). Moses AS helped a young lady get water for the sake of Allah and Allah SWT gifted her to him as a wife, but his intention was only ever for Allah, so this is very important.
