She did this because she realized that all the questions to prompt confessionals were related to the strategic games being played, so she used production to get more information and give none.
Natalie Anderson is one of my favorite winners of all time. Her careful timing for the perfect strike could not have gone better! And the fact that she orchestrated so many final vote outs, and still got the most votes, iconic!!
An underrated part of Rob's win on Redemption Island was spelled out be Natalie at the reunion - they didn't show too much of it, but she credited him with forming a really strong, personal connection with pretty much everybody on the island. Even when it's smart to vote somebody out, it's difficult to do it on a personal level when you see that person as a good friend. He played an incredible social game.
Sophie’s biggest move: crying at the final 5 tribal. Hear me out, the savaii only saw that upolu was heartless(and more) and when they saw Sophie cry, it made her more human than the others. That’s what her biggest move is. Honorable mention: her convincing coach to get out Brandon

I appreciate this video because it shows that every winner did something right to get to the end and win the game. Regardless of what happened or what will happen in Winners at War, despite some pathetic attempts in the comments, no one can take that away from them.
I disagree. Rob made the pitch which helped, but Amber had to do the leg work and convince KATHY to keep her. Kathy was Lex's right hand, and she held a lot of influence in that pairing. If Amber did not make a good enough argument for herself, it is likely she would've been knocked out at F10 and who knows Lex could've taken over the game after the merge. But Amber's underrated strong social game coupled with some good charm convinced her enemies to keep her. That is a subtle but effective part of her gameplay. She is a person who excelled at the UTR strategy and it worked in those early seasons of survivor. Years after this, Natalie in s18 would employ a similar strategy and win over the overrated Russell Hantz.
Honestly Not making a move might be better than making a move, and that in itself is a strategy, Shii Ann recognized early on that Amber was playing under the radar and was gonna win, Sandra has a loud personality but her game is subtle, in HvV she forms good relationships with the people who'll form the jury and ends up winning the season over betrayal heavy and hard players Parvati and Russell, Parvati even tried to convince Russell to vote out Sandra but he's a really bad social player and didn't do the reading
@@Awesomenesswithacherryontop Yes, I agree that Sandra deserved to win HvV, but this is about Amber. I'm not saying she had no social game. I'm saying that it wasn't her social game that saved her. It was Lex holding up his end of the deal that saved her.
@@gengarcrobat1576 Gengar Crobat I mean, yeah, but having an alliance in itself can be strategy, if you watched Marquesas, Rob played just as hard, in All Stars, Amber had a good reading on how she would do if she aligned with Rob, and basically just win from there, because she knew Rob would protect her and he's a really good manipulator and a mafioso player, and that she would win over him because she pissed less people off than the one more exposed by being the face of the strategy, while she was the one workin' behind the scenes, and it helped her case that Lex didn't listen to Jerri who basically outlined his downfall.
I feel like Michele's move that won her the game was taking our Neil with the remove a jury member advantage -- If Neil is there, Aubry gets his vote so it's 5-3, but I'm positive his praise of her game could sway at least one more person, resulting in a tie, and if that was the case Tai votes for Aubry to win as the finalist not in the tie
Had Neal been in the jury at FTC, he would talkef his way to getring the jury to vote fir Aubry to win, and Michele knows it.. it showed she did the right move when Neal dissed her, on his way to being the virst jury voted out.
@@shofranz-moss4002 For sure. He would have at least swayed it to a tie, which Tai would have broken, and obviously in favor of Aubry. But more than likely he could have gotten 2, enough to give Aubry the win outright.
I don't know the way he was talking when he left could have swayed people away from voting for Aubry because he came off a bit aggressive. I mean there's no way he would sway my vote coming at Michelle like that. Unless he made good arguments, but usually it comes across really annoying advocating for someone.
I would say Sophie’s best move was her FTC performance. I feel like it doesn’t matter what game she plays, if she makes it to the end, she will convince you she played the best game ever.
Well, I mean, for Sophie, why would you make a move when you were on a very direct road to winning? There was no need, she was gonna win no matter what, she won immunity when she needed to, she let people around her make moves that'll piss the jury off, and WaW is proving she can play hard, even if she doesn't win, she's gonna be known for playing one of the best games among the winners
Really? I think she is playing a good game to get to F7, if she survives, but a bad game to get to final tribal and win the 2 million. If this was just the pre-merge, I would agree that she played well. But since the merge, she needs to start taking bigger risks and I don't see that in her style of play. I think she will be knocked out very soon actually, as she is a hyena who will be targeted by the lions soon enough. I just don't see how she is playing one of the best games amongst the winners. I think Tony is playing the best of any of them and no one else is close. Sarah is doing well too, but she made a big mistake at the F11 reward.
@vaporterra Please don't make assumptions about others based on their dislike of someone winning. I couldn't care less about Coach. That season was just a mess and not many there really did anything in order to deserve winning.

I like the way you described things. It almost justifies those "winners" who probably should not have won based on the editing footage us viewers saw. People like Sophie, Natalie, Sarah(It's Lacina now). I can justify Sandra's first win at Pearl Islands because Lil was a trainwreck and everyone else cannibalized eachother, but the second time probably should have been Parvati. I would like to see someone make a video that dissects each controversial season's winner by backtracking to what possibilites could have happened to avoid it. Though half were just bitter juries.
@@jackpeter7924 she 100% did, Coach should've won that season. There are a lot of coasters who are back for winners at war and Sophie is one of them. Her gameplay this time around is a lot better though I'll give her that! Least shes actually playing.

Winners at War Signature Moves For (mostly) Every Player thus far ========================================================= - Natalie: Continuously acquiring fire tokens on the island that led her to be the single richest player on Edge at the time - Amber: Uh... I don't know... maybe giving her fire token to Rob (her husband) - Danni: I don't know... - Ethan: His heroic moment of pushing through the log challenge until the completion - Tyson: Peanut Butter... and getting himself back into the game then playing low the first eviction of merge - Rob: Being able to make a tribe of all winners remain silent for an entire day leading up to tribal (tho that was also his downfall). Also making a full tribe of winners dump out their bags at tribal in front of everyone in attempt to find who has the idol. - Parvarti: Selling a 50/50 idol to Michelle for 4 fire tokens (which Michelle should've never taken) - Sandra: She didn't do much other than successfully sit out of every single competition in the game (or at least those shown on the show) - Yul: Organizing the idea of the poker alliance that ultimately got Amber and Tyson voted out. - Wendel: Playing into the idea that Michele and Wendel had a toxic relationship outside the game, while secretly working together the entire time. A brilliant coverup of an alliance. - Adam: Attempting to grab an idol that was supposedly located in Tribal in front of everyone... wish it was real... ========================================================= - Ben: Calling adam out before and during tribal to be seen as a distraction while everyone around them was deciding on who would ultimately be voted out. - Denise: ... you know what she did ... a truly epic vote out of the Queen "sandra" herself with her one and only vote. - Jeremy: Orchestrating the blindside of Rob and Adam by voting out Ethan instead. - Kim: Getting the target off of her back and hiding back into the background after clearly being on the outs for the first few days in the game. - Michele: (same as Jeremy) - Nick: honestly no idea... - Sarah: Playing both sides while alining closely both Sophie and Tony. Laying low even tho she had one of the biggest target during interviews before playing. - Sophie: Essentially being the one person calling all the shots without anyone realizing it in the process. - Tony: Laying low and keeping a target off his back even with being one of the most infamous winners in survivor history.
I though Nick had a really good, possibly signature, move this week: knowing he was the target, he whispered to Tyson that Sophie was gunning for him (no clue if this was even true), eventually leading to all the chaos and different targets. He stirred the pot just enough to get Adam to overplay and saved himself.
Ethan's biggest and best move is clearly throwing the challenge for Boran to gain the upper hand on both tribes after the first swap of all time that nobody knew how to deal with! It was historic and set the end game!

I love how Tony Vlachos used Jeremy's meat shield strategy to win Winners at War. He also instituted his Spy Nest and social game of awesome likability to become, in my opinion, the best Survivor player of all time: the B-SPOAT.
Tony Vlachos is undeniably the Survivor G O A T right now. Could change if we get to Season 50 or later and see other games in the future but now this is the best game of all time complete from day 1 to day 39...
Awww poor Sophie, Lol. And that is the reason why she went into Season 40 with a massive chip on her shoulder and was looking to pull off some big moves.
My queen Sophie didn’t need a flashy move to win, homegirl came to get a check and left with one. Now that she’s got her check she’s coming to take names
Sophie is playing a good UTR game right now, but I don't think she can win. She is playing too passive and really not making any major moves. Yes I know she influenced the Wendell vote out and she has an idol, but I just get the feeling watching her that she is not driving the narrative. Plus the Wendell move only worked because the power alliance run by Tony also wanted him out, she is not playing with any real power in the tribe. It does feel to me like she is playing somewhat similar to Sandra's "anyone but me" style, but the problem is that I don't see a person who is her core alliance member where she can both feel safe AND in control of their pairing (think JT/ Stephen or Tony/Woo). Who is her #2?. Sometimes the right thing to do is to not make any big moves, but often it is not how you can win modern day survivor. I get the feeling that Sophie will play her idol at F10, and then be voted out in one of the next two tribals. If she came into the game wanting to change her reputation as a quiet/passive player, I'm sorry to say but I think she hasn't done much in my eyes to deserve the 2 mil at this point. She is one of two female hyenas in the game right now, and the way the edit is going, I think she will be eaten by the lions of the tribe soon enough.
@@multiplemike5021 Everything you said is true BUT I think at this time it is best to not make a big play. There are too many people still in the game. There are no alliances set still and I think everyone is watching out for someone trying to make that big move. Remember these are all winners who know the signs of a big move. All of them know if they make a big move then they are most likely on the chopping block next tribal council. The only previous winning strategy I can really think of working in this game is meat shields... and of course being in the background. Sandra was KNOWN for her "as long as it's not me" strategy, Sophie isn't. I really believe at this stage of the game it's not the right time for a big move. Maybe why no one is playing their advantages.
@@cjtrules1 That just changed with episode 10. Jeremy effectively ended his chances of winning tonight, and Kim is also in serious trouble. i think it would be interesting to look at what the rejected winners at war would be where we have all the players who wheren't on winners at war because it seems like a way stranger season with masterminds like bob and criss underwood
While Sarah Lacina getting the Legacy Advantage was definitely the biggest move, it was part of what is her signature move: she takes out whoever sees her as their best friend in the game without remorse - because it's the right move, strategically. Zeke said it best at FTC: "On day three of this game, I gave you my jacket. And then I was blindsided. And every night, you wore my jacket to Tribal Council. And all I could think was, 'Hot damn, that is badass!'... So Sarah, I am your champion tonight."
I feel like the whole survivor all stars situation would’ve been solved very easily. If at the challenge at the tribe swap, Robs tribe threw the challenge, they could’ve voted off the one in the minority so they’d still go into the merge with numbers and the jury wouldn’t despise rob. Then rob would probably win because the elimination order would probably be the same
Why doesn't Kim get any respect from other players? Season 24 was the 3rd most dominant season ever (behind Rob's 22 and Tony's 28) and yet no one was scared of her on 40.
Everyone said Sandra won Pearl Islands, because she sticked to a strong player. But she had ideas, and then, when there was space, she totally ruled the game. At first, she took Dara to spy on Burton and John, she got Burton blindsided by she blindsided all of them one by one then and as last, she still seemed like a weak player, so Lil took her to final 2. Genius!
It looked like Ben was given idols,he was a controversial winner for a reason,Even past players commented on his winning. Survivor did something unprecedented with him I believe-he found an idol Off camera 🙄😕😕 Please
I liked Parvati in Heros vs Villains more than I did in Micronesia. Not only does she pull off the double idol move but she was a challenge beast and won a bunch of immunity challenges. In Heros vs Villains she was a legit physical threat. She did win one immunity challenge in Micronesia but I felt like she wasn't quite the challenge beast in that season. Also she was more cautious as she actually passed on an immunity idol in that season.

"Please don't flame out early" well I have some good news for your past self lol
Lmaooooo
Sophie’s biggest move: crying at the final 5 tribal. Hear me out, the savaii only saw that upolu was heartless(and more) and when they saw Sophie cry, it made her more human than the others. That’s what her biggest move is. Honorable mention: her convincing coach to get out Brandon
Something that makes Nick's win even more impressive is the fact that, if not for a player getting medically evacuated, he would have been the 1st boot
This was actually revealed to be untrue by Davie, who said they were considering Lyrsa and Pat.

Wow, you just brought back a memory i didnt know I had. For context my mom passed away back in 2015, so one of the last seasons of survivor we watched together was Tony's season. Talking llama became a really big joke around my house, we even had this chalkboard in our kitchen that said 'Talking Llama Cafe'. Thanks for reminding me about that..
I literally never thought about how if Sandra didn’t do that to Coach she would’ve been voted off
Adam 18:44 - Convincing an enemy (Will) to flip to get the numbers back at Final 9 and then voting out that same person at the next tribal
Amber 3:34 - Escaping being voted out after being handed the most unfavorable tripe swap possible
Ben 20:49 - Idol play at Final 7 when everyone voted for him
Boston Rob 9:20 - Buddy System
Danni 4:19 - Socially maneuvered into an alliance with power players, including Rafe and then eliminating him at final 3
Denise 12:53 - Voting out the girls to position herself as the #1 ally of both Russell and Malcolm
Ethan 1:07 - Aligning with Lex and Big Tom
Jeremy 16:44 Meat shield strategy
Kim 11:32 - Votes Jay out after Jay confides in her that Troyzan is plotting against her and flushes out Troyzan's idol
Michelle 17:50 - Abandoning a sinking ship and joining the majority alliance by voting out Julia
Natalie 16:07 Waiting to strike and vote out John until Final 6. Eliminating the other alliance first.
Nick 22:34 Collaborating with his alliance to use idol on Christian and split the minority vote at Final 12
Parvati 6:42 - Blindsiding Ozzy
Sandra 2:22 - Rallying together Darrah and Lil to blindside Burton at final 5
Sandra (HvV) 8:10 Feeding a false rumor to a paranoid Russel that Coach wants him out. This takes the target off of her and Courtney.
Sarah 19:48 - Voting Sierra out and getting Sierra to will the legacy advantage to her
Sophie 10:05 - Not making a move and convincing her alliance to not be gamebots ("making unnecessary moves for the sake of being flashy")
Tony 14:39 - Convincing Woo to take him to the Final 2
Tyson 13:56 - Joining the singles and getting the pairs voted out
Wendell 21:37 - Forming friendship with Laurel and Dominick
Yul 5:41 - Getting Penner to jump ship and join his alliance at Final 9 when the Aitu 4 were outnumbered
I appreciate this video because it shows that every winner did something right to get to the end and win the game. Regardless of what happened or what will happen in Winners at War, despite some pathetic attempts in the comments, no one can take that away from them.
I'd love to see a video like this for the remaining winners who weren't on WaW!
Amber was saved because of the deal Rob made with Lex. She didn't have to do anything. Her key move was aligning with Rob.
@@multiplemike5021 Her social game helped I guess. But that just helped her on top of the deal between Rob and Lex. That alone did not save her.
Honestly
Not making a move might be better than making a move, and that in itself is a strategy, Shii Ann recognized early on that Amber was playing under the radar and was gonna win, Sandra has a loud personality but her game is subtle, in HvV she forms good relationships with the people who'll form the jury and ends up winning the season over betrayal heavy and hard players Parvati and Russell, Parvati even tried to convince Russell to vote out Sandra but he's a really bad social player and didn't do the reading
I feel like it doesn’t matter what game she plays, if she makes it to the end, she will convince you she played the best game ever.
also her tribal performance convincing ben and adam to get rid of rob - her performances at tribal are really convincing and a huge asset to her game.
Her best move was beating Ozzy in final immunity that's the only thing I ever give credit to for her I've never been a fan of hers
One of the least deserving winners.
People r mad at her coz ozzy and coach didnt win lol
Sipu97 Bullshit. She was a critical part of her alliance. Coach fans need to shut up about this
@vaporterra Please don't make assumptions about others based on their dislike of someone winning. I couldn't care less about Coach. That season was just a mess and not many there really did anything in order to deserve winning.
“Don’t flame out early” The winner of Survivor Winners at War…TONY!!!
I can't believe your videos don't have more views, they're fantastic! Keep up the good work, I am sure that the rest of the survivor community will catch up eventually :)
Thank you, that's so kind of you to say! I've only just started out about a month ago, and comments like this are super encouraging. Glad you've been enjoying them!
I'm pretty sure the Ozzy blindside should be credited to Cirie and not Parv.
I think Ethan's best move was throwing the challenge after the swap to protect Lex and Tom and eliminate a big threat (Silas).
Adam's biggest move was convincing Ken to break his code of honor and vote out David. If David had gotten to the end he would have beaten Adam.
“Fan favorite game changer Sierra Dawn-Thomas” 😂😂😂💀💀
One of Tonys greatest moves was turning his alliance against AJ by giving him true infos without evidence which made AJ looked like a paranoid madman. That was some sick mob boss move right there.
AJ?
I like the way you described things. It almost justifies those "winners" who probably should not have won based on the editing footage us viewers saw. People like Sophie, Natalie, Sarah(It's Lacina now). I can justify Sandra's first win at Pearl Islands because Lil was a trainwreck and everyone else cannibalized eachother, but the second time probably should have been Parvati.
I would like to see someone make a video that dissects each controversial season's winner by backtracking to what possibilites could have happened to avoid it. Though half were just bitter juries.
Need more great Survivor channels like yours. Keep it up!
Thank you for the kind words!
Cracks me up watching this after winners at war: “Don’t vote Tony out early”
You do such a good job, and you’re so funny. Thanks for getting me through the pandemic.
Sophie took out Brandon and made sure the Upolu 5 didn’t separate because coach and Albert wanted to make moves
Sophie coasted lol
ZyclonX no
@@jackpeter7924 she 100% did, Coach should've won that season. There are a lot of coasters who are back for winners at war and Sophie is one of them. Her gameplay this time around is a lot better though I'll give her that! Least shes actually playing.
@@WadeGaffney she did exactly what she needed to do to win South Pacific. Why rock the boat when there is nothing to gain from it? And her 'Ozzy's Pleasure Dome' argument was masterful
@@soaps7796 I guess you just value non existent gameplay when it comes to winners. I bet you think Michelle deserved to win over Aubry too.
Winners at War Signature Moves For (mostly) Every Player thus far
=========================================================
- Natalie: Continuously acquiring fire tokens on the island that led her to be the single richest player on Edge at the time
- Amber: Uh... I don't know... maybe giving her fire token to Rob (her husband)
- Danni: I don't know...
- Ethan: His heroic moment of pushing through the log challenge until the completion
- Tyson: Peanut Butter... and getting himself back into the game then playing low the first eviction of merge
- Rob: Being able to make a tribe of all winners remain silent for an entire day leading up to tribal (tho that was also his downfall). Also making a full tribe of winners dump out their bags at tribal in front of everyone in attempt to find who has the idol.
- Parvarti: Selling a 50/50 idol to Michelle for 4 fire tokens (which Michelle should've never taken)
- Sandra: She didn't do much other than successfully sit out of every single competition in the game (or at least those shown on the show)
- Yul: Organizing the idea of the poker alliance that ultimately got Amber and Tyson voted out.
=========================================================
- Ben: Calling adam out before and during tribal to be seen as a distraction while everyone around them was deciding on who would ultimately be voted out.
- Michele: (same as Jeremy)
- Nick: honestly no idea...
14:26 Well future Luke is going to be happy.
After Tony’s episode to get Sophie out, he has the new best move in the history of the game imo
Ethan's biggest and best move is clearly throwing the challenge for Boran to gain the upper hand on both tribes after the first swap of all time that nobody knew how to deal with! It was historic and set the end game!
I just wanted to comment and say that your work on these videos is very good and very much appreciated! I've been looking for survivor analysis videos of any sort for months and this is easily one of the best three channels out there (rivalling Peridiam and Once Upon An Island). I don't understand how you don't have more views and subscribers because you definitely deserve more! I hope you start to rack up more soon as your work is very good and I hope you get more views/subscribers soon.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Trust me, it's my pleasure to get to talk Survivor with you guys!
Thanks for this one!! I needed this run down on the Winners
@@TheMurrmursonbottle I'm watching South Pacific right now. Sophie is definitely a fav of mine already.
I think she goes out next, and then Sophie is gone right after her. I can't wait for next week. Tony has played a masterful game this season, and watch as he reminds everyone why they should've gotten rid of him in the pre-merge. Next week will be his episode to shine, I can feel it.
I still think about the fact that Wu lost the game by winning the final immunity challenge
Denise's signature move was convincing Lisa and Skupin to vote Abi out at final five when they should have gotten rid of Denise
Tony.....please don’t flameout early
LOL
Yul, a personal favorite, was the mob boss of his season
Sandra is so underrated because she took out a lot of America's sweethearts. She's strategic and socially amazing.
I've honestly been rooting for Tony all season, especially NOW.
I haven’t watched survivor in years but am loving your channel! Maybe I’ll have to check this season out because Yul was my fave winner
Those winner portraits are really good
Yul was so op he got banned lmaoo
"Please don't flame out early" WELL DO I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!
Sophie has one of the strongest FTC performance. She dragged coach to the mud.
Such a helpful refresher. TY!
i think it would be interesting to look at what the rejected winners at war would be where we have all the players who wheren't on winners at war because it seems like a way stranger season with masterminds like bob and criss underwood
Then rob would probably win because the elimination order would probably be the same
Love the videos. I can’t ever get enough survivor so thank you for the content.
Yul was the freaking Godfather/Mob Boss in Cook Islands. He was putting out hits left and right using the idol.
Why doesn't Kim get any respect from other players? Season 24 was the 3rd most dominant season ever (behind Rob's 22 and Tony's 28) and yet no one was scared of her on 40.
Everyone there is, quite literally, a winner. No one could be bigger than the other
Everyone said Sandra won Pearl Islands, because she sticked to a strong player. But she had ideas, and then, when there was space, she totally ruled the game. At first, she took Dara to spy on Burton and John, she got Burton blindsided by she blindsided all of them one by one then and as last, she still seemed like a weak player, so Lil took her to final 2. Genius!
so glad tony is still going strong in season 40! great video.
Agreed, Tony has been fun to watch both entertainment and gameplay wise
Great analysis man!
Great video. Keep it coming!
“please don’t flame out early” tony heard you and said lemme get the spy nest now
It looked like Ben was given idols,he was a controversial winner for a reason,Even past players commented on his winning. Survivor did something unprecedented with him I believe-he found an idol Off camera 🙄😕😕 Please
jmnny85 definitely fishy
Sophie's signature move was FTC.
"please don't flameout early" ha. Haha. Hahahahahahahaha. Wow what Luke couldn't see coming
Adam never did convinced Will to flip on the majority alliance of Zeke. It was a move credited to the man himself.
Ben's biggest move was being production's favorite.
Great video!
I love Tony, he’s the best and soooo fun to watch
Why am i watching this i don’t even watch survivor
Parvatis best move was also in HvV with the double idol olay
I liked Parvati in Heros vs Villains more than I did in Micronesia. Not only does she pull off the double idol move but she was a challenge beast and won a bunch of immunity challenges. In Heros vs Villains she was a legit physical threat. She did win one immunity challenge in Micronesia but I felt like she wasn't quite the challenge beast in that season. Also she was more cautious as she actually passed on an immunity idol in that season.
“He spoke llama!”
Sophie’s iconic move was ozzy’s pleasure dome
Sarah ALSO saw a secret advantage meant for Mykayla and took it before she could see it. THEN USED IT TO GET MYKAYLA OUT
Danni messed up her face I didn't recognize her the 1st time they show her on s40 then I saw her old pic and remembered her.
Same I didn’t even recognize her
