Great strategist... she would have had a chance to win if the jury didn't totally hate her... Yes but she was not in a power position. It was 6-5 in either direction and she flipped to the other alliance and was on the bottom of that alliance afterwards. Sooo good. You’ve got Rupert who tries to play the game as honorably as you can because he’s the ‘good guy’, and then you juxtapose that with Johnny Fairplay who admittedly will cross any ethical line to advance himself in the game is great TV. And then you got the FairPlay-Sandra rivalry which is even better, and then Savage is just a total savage in the challenges and what not. The only thing that sucked that season was the dumb Outcasts twist.
TheMurrmursonbottle idk, Sydney, Spencer and Rob all could’ve made an appearance had they have made it post merge. Adding on with Sierra, Taj, Tyson, Jt, Coach, Stephen, and Brendan. It was quite stacked
Agreed. That's my favorite season by far. Taj, Sierra, Brendan, Coach, Tyson, even Erinn was pretty memorable. And of course the iconic dynamic duo of JT and Stephen.
What I like about Amazon as a whole is that even though there are some not-great-for-tv personalities, they pretty much all get voted out super early. It's like they all set out to make the best boot order possible for the viewer.
@@IdoledOut that is really true! I might just have to rewatch amzon to get a different opinion. Ur a more life changing channel than u think u are. Seriously though all I do is survivor. I even want to kick off a channel like you
michael was one of my favorite players in ghost island, and he was a good player. i could see how smart he was and how much of a strategist he was and he wanted to play, but he got snuffed by the majority far too soon.
9:19 I was randomly browsing Survivor clips before stumbling onto this Tier List and I found John's boot. He was enthusiastic about a blindside but he was also genuinely delighted that he could find irony in the fact that it was him and not Christian who fell victim to a Brochacho blindside and the tribal counsel that managed to take him out was possibly one of the most entertaining in the history of the game. He is the perfect example of someone took defeat gracefully.
I thought Palau's cast was amazing. My personal favorite cast for sure. Wanda, Jolanda, Tom, Ian, Gregg, Stephenie, Bobby Jon, Coby, James, Angie, etc. were all amazing
Was Gabon not included or am I delusional?!?! I feel like Gabon had some of the greatest characters the game has ever seen. Yes, I get it, definitely not some of the best players, but easily the most entertaining in my eyes
The Gabon cast deserves an honourable mention. Literally every single person in that season was entertaining to some degree: Michelle's snarky attitude. Gillian's positivity. Paloma's adorable innocence. Jacquie's maturity. GC's apathy. Kelly's sassiness. Ace's arrogance. Dan's insecurities. Marcus' calmness amongst all the chaos. Charlie's creepy obsession with Marcus. Randy's crankiness. Corinne's bitchy one-liners. Crystal's chaotic energy. Kenny's underdog gone bad arc. Matty's constant pain and confusion from all the bullshit going on around him. Sugar's ability to control the game despite being such a mess. Susie's hilarious ignorance. Bob's charisma and unlikely win finishing the season off in glory. 10/10 season in terms of entertainment.
So boring. That whole season/win was just handed to JT . Nobody was competing to win a million dollars- they were all competing to sit next to JT. Even Tyson. Great lovestory, better than Twilight, but I only cared to watch it once.
good to see some Darrah appreciation, she had no right being as entertaining as she was, given her personality and game sense. But she was so oblivious to what was going on despite actually doing ok for herself it was kind of endearing. It's summed in the quote "I don't know how I'm a physical threat?" while wearing her third consecutive indi immunity necklace.
Just finished pearl islands for the first time and can’t believe people don’t talk about her more. Such a good person and cool player. Wins such cool challenges too.
Kaoh Rong is one of, if not the most underrated season and cast, it was my very first season and everyone just misses it. It doesn't fit the mold of 33+ with all the advantages and twists, but it doesn't feel old either, the super-idol mechanic is fair but not broken, we got AMAZING characters like Tai, Aubry, Cyndey, Neil, Nick, Debbie, Peter, hell even the 3 early out Brawns Darnell Jenny and Alecia were interesting and my personal favorite survivor villains ever, Scot and Jason. Caleb was a nice move too and he definitely showed he was made for survivor.
No Borneo cast on here hurts. That cast is just SO ICONIC and pivotal to the series that if that cast wasn't as good as it was, the series itself might not have even continued. Tagi and Pagong were HUGE at the time, and so many of them were, and still are, incredibly memorable.
Cagayan was the first season I ever watched, just randomly decided to start watching it when it was airing because the show had been on for so long I figured it had to be worth checking out. I was completely in after that season but tbh haven’t enjoyed one as much since.
I wonder what that season woulda been like without the overpowered idol. I've never been a fan of Ozzy and hate him for throwing a challenge that got rid of Billy, who coulda been the funniest player ever. Sekou was a pretty memorable first boot. But there were plenty of duds like Nate, JP, Adam, Sundra, Becky... Cao Boi deserves respect for originating the idea of splitting the vote to flush out idols, and Jessica was a fun quirky weirdo sidekick to him.
I would put Tocantins as part of the best, intro to some of Survivor’s biggest names (JT, Stephen, Coach, Tyson) even the early boots outside of one or two are memorable. And remember Timbira whiffed their majority at the merge because of Coach’s ego/vendetta against Brendan and Sierra, allowing the Jalapao three to systematically eliminate their biggest threats (Brendan and Tyson) and make it to the final four
Nicaragua, Borneo, Tocantins, and MvGx could have been on this video (you can probably figure out which list they belong in), but overall I think the lists are pretty solid
I'd really like to see newbie tribe rankings (like how returnee tribes got ranked). I just finished China, and Fei Long got its due here. But a couple months ago, I finished Panama, and I feel like Casaya is such a beautiful, dominant, dysfunctional animal that it doesn't deserve to be dragged down by...I actually can't remember the name of the other tribe. Even then, they had Dietz, and astronaut Dan, who was so completely likeable that there were no hard feelings on any side about a unanimous vote-off. But mostly I just wanted to give a shout out to Casaya, where even the method they were assembled is hilarious.
I’d argue Cook Islands for one of the best. Obviously you’ve got the aitutaki 4 that went from underdogs to sweeping the post merge, to Parvati and Jonathan Penner, then you even have some interesting early exits such as the delusional metalhead Billy and firemaster Cao Boi and Sekou who had a great personality, and just got unlucky. This cast was star studded through and through.
I think that the cast of South Pacific was super underrated. I think there was a really entertaining rivalry with Coach and Ozzy tribes. For some reason everyone on the Ozzy tribe were so similar personality wise with Ozzy, (excluding Papa Bear and Cochran) The people on the tribes were perfectly picked for their leader. Someone prove me wrong I want your opinions.
See, the people being "perfectly picked for their leaders" is exactly the problem. On RI they cast people who would be content to follow Boston Rob off a cliff, and in South Pacific they put a lot of people on Savaii who would be cronies for Ozzy and people on Upolu who would join Coach's creepy Jesus cult. Sophie was practically the only sane person in that cast (hence why she won)
My only issue with the Outback is Varner and Skupin - easily the two people fans hate the most after what's happened in the last few years. Other than that, epic cast
Especially because the concept for the 3 tribes was her idea! *After* she cast them all, she noticed that they'd break down neatly into a Brains-Beauty-Brawn division, pitched it to the producers, and thereby brought us the greatest trainwreck of a tribe that we've ever had the joy of watching.
I personally think the pre-merge was one of the worst of any season of Survivor, but it's gradually been picking up steam since the merge, to the point now that I'm super excited to see who ultimately wins.
I’m watching this now that I’m starting to think 42 may be one of the best newbies casts we’ve seen, I think it may have cracked the top 5 newbie cast of all time, maybe it’s recency bias but I think it definitely has to make the top 10.
i agree, i love the cast of cagayan but in my opinion they really flourish in the post-merge, david vs goliath cast is freaking stellar from the start of the game to the end of the game. And cagayan cast has some stinkers like garrett
I've defended Zaptara by stating that it was better to vote Russell out early rather than get Starstruck and become mindless henchmen like Omatempe did for Rob
Redemption island was my favorite season!! I think Philip was the best casting choice ever. Sooo entertaining. My second favorite casting decision was Debbie. We need more of these eccentric characters to keep it interesting!!
Interesting to watch this video again, what brought most people to the chanel but it's so much smoother nowadays. A little tighter production and just sharpened writing. This is still good though. Totally see why it's got what it's got!
I’m honestly a little shocked there was never a season that went so horribly wrong and had such terrible contestants that they just buried it and never let it see the light of day
I watched Cagayan fairly recently as my first new season since Fiji in high school, and man, I think I'm gonna need to go through it again. It really demands a deep knowledge of the Survivor strategic vernacular to super-appreciate, but it's perfectly watchable as a great goofy character fiesta too. It's a rare season that delivers so well both as a popcorn-muncher and a riveting chess match.
The Pearl Islands cast is so good that even Nicole, the first boot, seemed like an interesting person. Also with hindsight in late 2021, season 41 has a pretty great cast imo, not a dud player in sight (maybe Abraham but idk, he had a decent presence as the first boot). It's a shame they couldn't trust their cast to bring the drama and keep trying to do all these random twists that go nowhere, think it would've been a top tier great cast if they'd have just let the season play out.
No Tocantins? Loved the cast, with Tyson 1.0 (the best Tyson), Fish, JT, Coach 1.0, Taj, Brendon, Sierra, Erin and a lot more characters in the pre merge
You may be the Zapatera defender, but I'm the One World defender. I like that season, maybe too much. I also think Borneo has the best cast of all 40 seasons, newbies or returnees. But I can understand leaving it off the list as it's basically an entirely different show structure than the rest of the series.
Thailand was tough to watch because of the sexual harassment, Robb's treatment of Shii Ann, and of course all of the awkwardness that involved Ice Man Brian, his wife, and Clay. One redeeming quality I can think of right now for this season is how amazing Helen's husband was in the loved ones' visit. Those two were cute, but can't think of anything else good because it's been so long since I've seen this one. Maybe I'll give it a rewatch. Or not.
The only good thing about One World to me is watching the girls get their act together and whip the guys after the guys were such douchebags to them at the beginning of the season. I watch the guys stealing from the girls and being rude to them, and I'm like uh eventually you're going to have to work with some of them and women don't forget that kind of stuff lol. It's an amazing lesson on karma. To be fair the girls were really annoying and were a complete disaster as a tribe at first, but they got it together and then the guys completely fell apart. But I agree that the cast as a whole sucked lol
I thought cook islands would be here because we have: A mastermind A challenge beast Villains that we love to hate A dominant alliance A flirt A couple Drama Funny moments Players with massive potential that were booted early or in half of the season like Jenny and Nate But I understand why it's not here because the majority of the cast is very forgettable
@Stiles White Drama. "You're a rat / You're cancer" And funny moments. "I could forgive her, but I don't have to because she screwed with my chickens."

@@robbierotten2874 The medevacs just made the show more real for me. Aubry goes home if Neal wasn’t evacuated, so that was really a blessing in disguise.
I loved the koah rong cast. Didnt like Michelle as the winner but she impressed me in WAW. Still the only winner in WAW to never have been voted out
I'm surprised Gabon wasn't mentioned as a good cast. We had several iconic characters and moments, from Ace's unexpected villain journey being cut short, the Randy v Cyrstal and Corinne v Sugar rivalries, to golden boy Marcus taken out in a twist. And many memorable characters.
I’m surprised that Cook Islands didn’t make the list on the best side. although star power doesn’t always lead to best, Cook Islands had ALOT of star power
cook islands has one of the worst most forgettable casts ever
@@lai17 Thanks for the laugh😂It was greatly appreciated👏🏻
@@lai17 even returnees like Parvati are pretty forgettable on Cook Islands
@@lai17 lmao ur delusional m8
@@lai17 true 3/5 of the latin tribe were forgettable, I only remember ozzy and the one who had a huge crush on candice, most of the black tribe are forgettable except for nate. The caucasian and asian tribe were memorable tho. its 50/50
Top 3 Best All Newbie Casts
1. Tocantins
2. China
3. Cagayan
No flip that around and put Cagayan first
SGP K1N6STON I agree
yes tocantins is LIFE
I’m still amazed at how epic the Pearl Islands cast is.
Sooo good
The only thing that sucked that season was the dumb Outcasts twist.
koshea44 and Osten but that’s it
It is the best pre-idol season imo
cagyan was the first season I watched nostalgic+awesomeness=my fav
Tocantins was a rough omission for me
Coach on his own is enough to deserve a spot
All the people that made merge were excellent, but a huge amount of the premerge boots are completely unmemorable.
TheMurrmursonbottle idk, Sydney, Spencer and Rob all could’ve made an appearance had they have made it post merge. Adding on with Sierra, Taj, Tyson, Jt, Coach, Stephen, and Brendan. It was quite stacked
@@marlogreen9706 There was no Rob that season. Did you mean Jerry?
Agreed. That's my favorite season by far. Taj, Sierra, Brendan, Coach, Tyson, even Erinn was pretty memorable. And of course the iconic dynamic duo of JT and Stephen.
This is a great list! Too bad there is no Amazon :(
It was so hard to narrow it down! Amazon is such an underrated group.
@@IdoledOut I think because I am neck deep into it on my channel that it is so fresh in my mind.
I personally didn't care for amzons cast. It had a lot of duds and just average characters
Gabon was a hot mess of gameplay, but you can't say that those people were boring.
💯
Gabon cast is one of the worst in term of gameplay, but entertainment-wise oh man nobody can top them, except angelina
Gabon is one of my favorites!
Gabon everyone genuinely hated each other it was the most entertaining for me also
MVGX and Koah Rong are great too. Same with Tocantins, Cook Islands, Philliphines, San Juan Del Sur, Gabon, Amazon, and Edge of Excinction.
The Gabon cast deserves an honourable mention. Literally every single person in that season was entertaining to some degree:
Michelle's snarky attitude.
Gillian's positivity.
Paloma's adorable innocence.
Jacquie's maturity.
GC's apathy.
Kelly's sassiness.
Ace's arrogance.
Dan's insecurities.
Marcus' calmness amongst all the chaos.
Charlie's creepy obsession with Marcus.
Randy's crankiness.
Corinne's bitchy one-liners.
Crystal's chaotic energy.
Kenny's underdog gone bad arc.
Matty's constant pain and confusion from all the bullshit going on around him.
Sugar's ability to control the game despite being such a mess.
Susie's hilarious ignorance.
Bob's charisma and unlikely win finishing the season off in glory.
10/10 season in terms of entertainment.
So well said my friend. I sometimes find it hard to articulate why I love that season so much, but you nailed it.
My personal top 5 newbies cast:
China, Tocantins, Cagayan, Pearl Island & DvG
Survivor Tocantins has to be one of the best 5 casts
So boring. That whole season/win was just handed to JT . Nobody was competing to win a million dollars- they were all competing to sit next to JT. Even Tyson.
Great lovestory, better than Twilight, but I only cared to watch it once.
“Dawn is likeable”
Season 26: Hold my dentures
Honorable mentions for best: Panama and Tocantins
Eh. Panama had a lot of duds
Actual story is that cageyan was originally cast as normal season and then someone noticed that you could split them perfectly in brain brawn beauty
the ogs watched the podcast reunion
I feel like Gabon is seriously underrated. Sugar, Corinne, Randy, Crystal, Kenny, Ace, Matty, Gillian!
2 of those are good. Matty and Randy
I think he meant Matty.
@@nightaronipepperoni ahh I see
That is one of the worse seasons. I know a lot of hate for that season.
TheNightCrawlerr thank you for the correction!
good to see some Darrah appreciation, she had no right being as entertaining as she was, given her personality and game sense.
Cagayan is one of the first I remember really getting into survivor and honestly I think it’s my favourite season
No Borneo cast on here hurts. That cast is just SO ICONIC and pivotal to the series that if that cast wasn't as good as it was, the series itself might not have even continued. Tagi and Pagong were HUGE at the time, and so many of them were, and still are, incredibly memorable.
As an Australian, the use of rootable really changed the tone of some of these. :P
Cagayan is such a slam dunk. And glad to see the Samoa love here.
Cagayan was the first season I ever watched, just randomly decided to start watching it when it was airing because the show had been on for so long I figured it had to be worth checking out. I was completely in after that season but tbh haven’t enjoyed one as much since.
This is why I don’t suggest starting with a top tier season
Cook Islands? I know that most of the castaways weren't that memorable but the ones that were are survivor legends, Parvati Yul Candice Ozzy
And Jonathan
Stevedog Shazam can’t believe I forgot about Penner in that season
I wonder what that season woulda been like without the overpowered idol.
I've never been a fan of Ozzy and hate him for throwing a challenge that got rid of Billy, who coulda been the funniest player ever. Sekou was a pretty memorable first boot. But there were plenty of duds like Nate, JP, Adam, Sundra, Becky...
Cao Boi deserves respect for originating the idea of splitting the vote to flush out idols, and Jessica was a fun quirky weirdo sidekick to him.
Jenny is really underrated and I think they should have shown her more
Candice? From the Raro tribe? A legend?
No Tocantins is the only thing i disagree with
@@encycl07pedia- i can't forget taj ;-;
Christine winning all the redemption duels, only to lose on the final challenge is honestly really sad
Exile island needs a mention even if only for Cerie, Shane and Courtney and then no tocancins!?!? Gabon!?!? Im done!!! 😑 But otherwise i agree
Cagayan is legendary
This is what I was thinking going into the video!!!
Nicaragua, Borneo, Tocantins, and MvGx could have been on this video (you can probably figure out which list they belong in), but overall I think the lists are pretty solid
I loved the DvG cast. It was so refreshing to have so many likable characters
My first intro into survivor was Cagayan because it was on netflix, little did I know I was in for the best cast
I 100% agree with Survivor Cagayan as #1. I loved this season so much!
Really wanna see Johnny Impact back. What a guy. One of the biggest blindsides ever took it laughing.
I agree, Cagayan is one of my favorite seasons!
I think season 41 has made its way onto this list it has such an amazing cast!
Could you have a video about best episode of each season, so everybody can watch all of survivor in 40 episodes? That would be fun to do.
My only issue with the Outback is Varner and Skupin - easily the two people fans hate the most after what's happened in the last few years. Other than that, epic cast
The One World cast was like the US Congress: Full of idiots. XD
Tocantins I would say also has a great cast like JT, Stephen, Coach, Tyson, Taj, Sierra, Erinn
Why you be taking my comment
Fate Sharks shit didn’t realize
the fact that you didn’t add sandy is honestly offensive
Just started 30 and 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying the game so far everyone seems to be having a good time.
As an Australian, you describing a cast as "rootable" or "not rootable" is hilarious.
Kim is one of the more favorite winners, but little know that she won against complete idiots that had no idea what they were doing.
Honestly her season was trash
The casting director for Cagayan deserves a Nobel Prize.
Survivor 41 is absolutely in the top 5 best newbie casts. It’s the best season since Cagayan to me.
I personally think the pre-merge was one of the worst of any season of Survivor, but it's gradually been picking up steam since the merge, to the point now that I'm super excited to see who ultimately wins.
That sad moment when literally three consecutive seasons were listed 😭 truly the dark ages
Literally going into this video I said. “If Cagayan isn’t #1 I’m unsubscribing.” Good work on this list!
Just watched Samoa, and Brett is so absent until he wins 3 immunities in a row. It’s just so frustrating for me
I’m still waiting for lyrsa, Christian, and Dawn to grace the game again! I loved watching all three of them play
I’m watching this now that I’m starting to think 42 may be one of the best newbies casts we’ve seen, I think it may have cracked the top 5 newbie cast of all time, maybe it’s recency bias but I think it definitely has to make the top 10.
It’s a really good one, probably top 10 for me.
I would have put David vs Goliath as number 1 but I respect your list.
David vs Goliath is probably my favorite season. Just about everyone on that cast was a great character.
i agree, i love the cast of cagayan but in my opinion they really flourish in the post-merge, david vs goliath cast is freaking stellar from the start of the game to the end of the game. And cagayan cast has some stinkers like garrett
The problem with DvG is the winner edit is obvious.
I've defended Zaptara by stating that it was better to vote Russell out early rather than get Starstruck and become mindless henchmen like Omatempe did for Rob
Me realizing tocantins isn’t on this list despite it being the best newbie cast >:(
Sierra? Erin (I personally love her but she was a massive goat)? Joe? Sandy? The rest were amazing
Com on tocantins was great
Easily in my top 2 seasons!
@@OnceUponAnIsland I know how can u go wrong with it Tyson coach and it with fischbach and by far the funniest auction
I will never understand this opinion. The premerge is so unmemorable to me, except for Crazy Sandy.
Australia brought us Varner and skoopin.
I tried to get cast on a season, but it was Brains vs Beauty vs Braun and they couldn't have me on all 3 tribes at the same time 😂
I’m honestly a little shocked there was never a season that went so horribly wrong and had such terrible contestants that they just buried it and never let it see the light of day
I think Thailand was the closest to that.
The ONLY issue with the Outback is is that it has two of the most hated Survivors ever, other than that, 10/10
I think One World is underrated. I like the cast and the season.
That season sucked. Even the producers gave up
Lol thanks for the input Kim
Cagayan is still the best season imo
I watched Cagayan fairly recently as my first new season since Fiji in high school, and man, I think I'm gonna need to go through it again. It really demands a deep knowledge of the Survivor strategic vernacular to super-appreciate, but it's perfectly watchable as a great goofy character fiesta too. It's a rare season that delivers so well both as a popcorn-muncher and a riveting chess match.
No have u seen tocantins Taj debbie Tyson coach JT fischbach
The postmerge ruins it for me. The Morgan through Jefra boot episodes are literally just the Tony and Spencer show.
@@a.jdeets5527 that’s bc they were the only chancers to win the game
What?! John Morrison was on Survivor?? THE Johnny Nitro? I had no idea until today lol
Idc what anyone says Francesca is one of the funniest survivors ever
Seeing John Morrison was so crazy for me especially since at the time I think he was going by Johnny Mundo
I haven't read the comments yet but at least out of Kat we got Hayden. I feel like Hayden needs to come back!
Darah became so relevant in the last half of Pearl Islands that it only made that season even more of a casting gold.
I thought cook islands would be here because we have:
A mastermind
A challenge beast
Villains that we love to hate
A dominant alliance
A flirt
A couple
Drama
Funny moments
Players with massive potential that were booted early or in half of the season like Jenny and Nate
But I understand why it's not here because the majority of the cast is very forgettable
@Stiles White Drama. "You're a rat / You're cancer"
And funny moments. "I could forgive her, but I don't have to because she screwed with my chickens."
