Poly gel is harder than it looks! Even with the clips to hold them to cure, they still pop off and is tricky to keep them down to cure
Yess it really is. There i definitely a strong learning curve to it and its super difficult snd sometimes frustrating. It so hard to hold the forms down as you cure the polygel!!! Hoping things get easier for you love 😆
@@vicsnailtips yeah I bought the clios for it and it still goops out and then moves which then make it look crooked.
Try using enough poly gel , you should not have to press so hard for them to stick . That was big issue of mine and when I figured the right amount out , it would stick on enough for me to pop them in the lamp with no spillage or moving
@@eatmybutt3272 yeah but then the poly gel is too thick and looks like a big clump of acrylic & I don’t have a drill to thin them out
@@krystalamartinez trying doesn’t hurt . Try to flash cure the top of ur nails and then flip ur nail to the underside and thin it out and cure nail all together, top then underside . Add more poly gel if u need it . Trying different ratios of poly gel until u figure out what works for u since I don’t have an e file
Try putting the gel bead in the form first and, then after you manipulate the gel into form you can push in gently onto your finger🤪🤣🤩🥳
I have tried that method before. It definitely is a bit easier haha 😆
Try putting a paper form under the nail. They still have old school paper forms like the type used for acrylic sculpture nails.
They are paper but have a bit of foil so they can be manipulated to fit under your nail. Set that up first then use the plastic dual form like you would normally do and put on top.
With both forms it will make a smooth nail sandwich. All you have to do os file to shape. Less filing will be necessary.

If you have a top coat on you polish and haven’t buffed up the nail it could be why it wasn’t sticking. I had a lot of success using dual forms like this. If the gel is too runny pop it somewhere cool for a while and it will thicken a little

Why do y'all make this so easy?!?! 😢 I tried dual forms a few weeks ago and it did not go well, is all I will say. There was some curse words and some throwing of things involved. I'm glad uncured polygel is so easy to clean off your nails. I'm going to keep at it but so far, building a nail from scratch on a paper form is easier for me.
Also, until I watched some of your videos, I didnt know it was pronounced "Model Ones". Ive been saying "Mod Luh Owns" or "Mode Le On Ez" xD
Dual forms take practice just like anything else. I never really loved them either but for some people it's easier than building a nail. If you can sculpt nails on forms or tips there's really no reason to use dual forms. I love sculpting nails, but I think dual forms are great for beginners or maybe a quick set if you can use them. 💕💕💕
Dual forms are definitely not easy, even if it may look like it from the video. It’s so frustrating sometimes so I feel you about the curse words and throwing things 🤣 you also have to remember, editing is a big reason it looks easy in videos. I try to leave in as much of my struggles as possible but there are things I have to cut out to keep the video short. I promise thats why lol. I personally prefer using tips and forms over dual forms. I feel like dual forms are a last resort type of method almost. Def use the method that gets you the best results! And bte the way you were pronouncing modelones was so fancy haha so cute 💕

@@vicsnailtips Totally agree! I think the expectation with dual forms is that you just slap some polygel inside and then cure it to your nails and boom you have perfect nails. But I've never found that to be the case if you truly want beautiful, natural looking nails. When I did use dual forms, I basically used them just to create a thin platform similar to what you would do with a nail form, and then finished by sculpting over it. I never put the dual form all the way to the cuticle, and instead filled that in at the end. This can be helpful if you struggle with shaping a nail on a paper form or creating an apex. But I realized that the amount of time and practice it took to get beautiful results was no different than learning to sculpt the traditional way on a tip or paper form.

this technique is so interestingg! On tik tok it looks so effortless but I feel like it'll still take as long as the regular method, was it any faster?
It was a bit misleading because it definitely was not effortless! I feel like the process wasnt any shorter so it’s really just a preference thing. I wish though 😊

I keep having issues with gaps of color missing from the sides of my nail under the dual forms tried making it thicker and if I use the clips it pushes more pollygel out and makes it worse whether its thinner or thicker anyone know what im doing wrong?

I tried this using the exact products from modellones and i just cant get it work edges are horrible and theres always something that went wrong. I feel you need to be experienced with doing nails in order to make this work
If im honest, I struggled so bad when I first started with polygel using duals forms. I went back to it after using other methods for months, and it was much easier. So I really do agree with you on that!
That cotton candy pink color is so pretty! Every time I see you use it I fall in love....I need to get that color! I like the gold at the tips. You did a great job with the dual forms and turned it into a beautiful set! Girl I just never had the patience but I definitely see the appeal. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!!

If im going to sit and do my nails for hours Is rather be able to custom fit them to my nails. I really only use them if there’s a hack 😂 You have a wonderful weekend as well 💕
I didn't kno u could have polish on and still just put poly gel on top. Thought u had to have clean, bare nail beds for polygel nails 🧐🤔
You're really not supposed to do sets over gel polish. Bare, clean, and dry nails is the way to go! I do it so I can change my sets often without damage. I have a video where I explain how it works a bit more if you're interested ☺️

I’m really late to this post, and also early in the video. But, have you tried applying the poly gel to the nail tip, and then pressed it onto your nail bed? In beauty school they taught us to dot the center of the tip with nail glue and then apply it to the nail for less spillage, and better adhesion. I haven’t done nails in years though, and I’m learning lots of tips. Considering doing my own nails soon, and just wondering if you think this principal would also work for poly gel. Thanks so much for sharing ❤

Ive seen this done with a tip on so the nail doesn’t spill out all over the place but it still squeezes out of the sides a bit but not too bad and the back it at least flat!
I am surprised it sticks at all since you have a product on your nails to start with
They stick to my nails but not for long haha, the gel polish helps me pop the nails off after a couple of days 😊

I typically stay away from the traditional dual form method too. But I can say I’m always willing to try different hacks and methods. I would definitely recommend everyone to try at least once lol. And thank you I will keep up the conetent, you’re so kind 💜

I love the finished product but I DEFINITELY DON’T LIKE THIS METHOD. LOL
I tried it 2 times the other way and it was to thick in the back

How do you prevent the polygel from getting sticky?
Using alcohol to move the polygel around keeps it from sticking to the brush. Also cleaning off the sticky layer with alcohol after the nails are cured. Hope this helps love 💕
What dual forms are you using in this video? I'm looking for some exactly like that cause I hate the curvy ones 😒
So you don’t have to take the nail polish off your regular nails first
It’s best to do polygel nails on bare nails with no polish. I leave on gel pilish because it makes it easy for me to remove them since I change my naiks so often for videos 🥰
