As a South African expat (living in the USA), there are certain South African musicians, and songs, that make me homesick. Then you get a collaboration like this, and I just want to pack it all in and move back home.
Well done to two of South Africa's best, for reminding me that despites the oceans that separate us (and the accompanying challenges), South Africa will always be my homeland.
It's time to come back home 💗
Come home
Crying as I read your words. Africa is in your blood. ❤️❤️❤️
100% agreed Tammy ❤️🩹
Just the short bit in the beginning of him talking made me homesick
I have no idea why this isn’t a worldwide smash. This needs to be seen by everyone seriously interested in good music. Thank you Jeremy and Ladysmith Black Mambazo❤
Joseph Shabalala will be so proud of them. The BEST music, definitely the BEST.....Like you said, the world have to see them🎵🎶🎷🥁🎤🎼🎧🎸
One of my friend used this song on her story and I've been listening to it since then. You're right about that.
This song makes me feel homesick and I'm in South Africa! I think it makes me homesick for the possibilities, what South Africa could and can be.
if i wanted to find more music with that kind of background group chorus of people singing, do you know what I would search? thanks
Ladysmith Black mambazo has done a lot of collaborations like this. Paul Simon's Graceland is an amazing example. I also like Johnny clegg and savuka for English singing with zulu backing vocals
I know the feeling 😂
Thank you for the reminder, one can feel homesick while living in SA. I had this for a Very long time
Impilo yami, umculo wami mina
Impilo yami (impilo yami) umculo wami
Umculo wami mina (umculo wami) impilo yami
Impilo yami umculo wami mina
Impilo yami (umculo wami) umculo wami
I've been walkin' for days and days, listenin' to you
You keep on hummin' the same old tune
Impilo yami (umculo wami), umculo wami
All of the things that you've been through
Match the scars on your face like tattoos
Impilo yami, hey bo! (Umculo wami) umculo wami
In a couple of days, we could be gone
Leave with nothin' and start travelin' home
Umculo wami, impilo yami, umculo wami
No time to waste, I've been here before
In the undergrowth, divided by the single moon
He said, "In this town, I'm beggin' to find someone who can save me"
And it's been tearin' me apart
Well, I've been waitin'
And nothing's been that easy for me lately
But this city has my heart and I've been waitin' (thandaza, ingoma yemazulu)
This city has my heart and I've been waitin' (umculo wami impilo yami)
I'm lookin' for somethin' now (umculo wami impilo yami)
Don't trip or you might stall out
Stop thinkin' you're too tall (umculo wami impilo yami)
Magnificent come around
Another trip in the cop car (umculo wami impilo yami)
Take time to reform, yeah
Just give me the fool for a while (umculo wami impilo yami)
Why live if you don't fall down?
Why live if you don't fall down? (Umculo wami impilo yami)
Why live if you don't fall?
In this town, I'm beggin' to find someone who can save me (thandaza)
And it's been tearin' me apart
Well, I've been waitin'
And nothing's been that easy for me lately (umculo wami, hey bo!)
But this city has my heart
She said, "In this town, there's nothin' in my name unless I make it
And it's not written in the stars, but I got patience
And I'll tell my story even if it breaks me (umculo wami impilo yami)
'Cause this city has my heart
Help me with this heavy load
Help me with this heavy load
Help me with this heavy load
Help me with this heavy
In this town (ngisize) I'm beggin' to find someone who can save me (ng'yasindwa)
And it's tearin' me apart (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
Well, I've been waitin' (ngisize)
And nothin's been that easy for me lately (ng'yasindwa) (umculo wami, hey bo!)
But this city has my heart (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
He said in this town (ngisize) I'm beggin' to find someone who can save me (ng'yasindwa)
And it's been tearin' me apart (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
Well, I've been waitin' (umculo wami impilo yami)
And nothin's been that easy for me lately
But this city has my heart (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
She said in this town (ngisize) there's nothin' in my name unless I make it (ng'yasindwa)
And it's not written in the stars, but I got patience (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
And I'll tell my story even if it breaks me (umculo wami impilo yami)
'Cause this city has my heart and I've been waitin' (ng'thule lo mthwalo)
This city has my heart and I've been waitin' (umculo wami impilo yami)
This city has my heart and I've been waitin'
this is what South Africa is all about, having a good time together as one❤️

This needs to become a worldwide hit. Enjoying this from Europe, Romania, amazing song!
This sound is so wonderful. The person who is reading this comment, I wish you great success, health, love and happiness!
What a rad uplifting tune! The collab all South Africans didn't even know they'd been waiting for.
I've just sent this clip to Bongani, founder of the newly formed and launched, Khayelitsha Children's Choir. My business produced Tshirts for their launch on Heritage Day. If you ever need a children's choir to work with, please consider KCC. I'm proud to be working with them and even prouder when I listen to this song. It shows what we as South Africans can achieve when we work together. Well done to all you 💜🇿🇦
What a song! I am an African! Thank you so much for making this music. It gives me joy, hope and peace.
As soon as the music starts, your body moves. You simply cannot sit still. Infectious, vibey, brilliant. The video shows how much everyone enjoyed themselves. Proudly South African

Thanks to "Thugalchemy TV" for correct Zulu translation.
No! It’s “Impilo yam, ngumculo wam” directly translating to My life is my music
Thanks so much!
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 ESV
I stand to be corrected but it sounds to me like the lyrics are
And it's been tearing me apart while I've been waiting... Rather than well I've been waiting
@@thugalchemytv Thanks for the translation!
Jeremy loops is special!! Protect him at all costs
From who?

He's slowly growing into filling the space left by Johnny Clegg🙌
@@vukanihlophe6295 I just looked up Johnny Clegg. Singer-songwriter AND anthropologist. How cool is that?
One of the rare things every race in South Africa can agree on is that Ladysmith Black Mambazo is and always will be legends.
Your best work to date IMO. What a beautiful song and even more beautiful music video. I feel an overwhelming sense of pride for our country and its music scene when I watch this🇿🇦 thank you for putting this together.
Thank you, Steve. Really appreciate that. Yeah, this is definitely a high watermark moment for me. Happy it's connecting with folks.
It's safe to say that I've been playing this song on repeat ever since i came across it. I think Ladysmith and Jeremy are tired from the constant replays😂. At some point I wanted to gatekeep this song because it's so good but I realized that I wouldn't be doing justice to this masterpiece so I've been sharing it with people. I really hope it gets the recognition it deserves 😊. With Love from Kenya❤❤
Play on!
Absolutely awesome! Fellow South African here 🇿🇦 Good feelings. Gives me goosebumps in a good way! Awesome job capturing the feeling of Mzansi.
I just heard this for the first time through the Stellenbosch University Choir and was crying with joy. I looked you up and went into a full blown melt down releasing ancient grief. The sound you made together is so powerful. Thank you all so much. ☀️🌌🌍🌸
Also I'm here from Stellenbosch's Channel after hearing this song in their voices
What a wonderful song, I’m from Cameroon but this one is universal. Thank you for putting words on my pride of being African
I have listened to this song over 5k times. I play it when I’m happy and when I’m challenged ❤
As an expat living in South Africa, this song really made me understand the people of this country just a little more. I see so many elements of this song in my everyday life in the people around me.🧡

petition to make this chune South Africa's unofficial anthem. When I watch the Bokke play, this song plays in my head. The amount of SA pride I feel when listening to this song while the Bokke are playing is overwhelming.
Just about the best thing I've seen in a long time. 💯National treasure.
This reminds me of the days walking the cattle home while Ladysmith Black Mambazo with Paul Simon blasted from the tiny battery powered stereo in the mud-walled hut.
