It is pretty cool how this game has exactly 5 stages for the ordinary Rangers;
it is almost as if the game wants you to use each character for specific stages before the MegaZord stages.

The episode where the Ninja Turtles met the Power Rangers was from the 1998 season, Power Rangers In Space. It was appropriately titled "Shell Shock".

The early 90s were the golden age for Beat'em up games.
Capcom's The Punisher, Alien vs Predators, Dungeon & Dragons: Tower of Doom, Knight of the Round and Cadillac & Dinosaurs were all amazing arcade games.
Only Knights of the Round got ported to SNES.
You guys NEED to do an episode with The Punisher. It was the most refined 2D beat'em up before the genre died.

She was only on that TMNT tv series which only lasted 1 season. And they never brought her back for any other incarnation.
Ninja Turtles the Next Mutation is heavily regarded as the worst TMNT incarnation BY FAR. I don’t miss her at all.

Power Rangers in Space were pretty cool but Next Mutation Turtles, that was an awful show.

For those wondering, the Power Rangers/TMNT crossover episode was Season 6 Episode 4: "Shell Shocked" Though they made a cameo at the end of Episode 3.
They kept the same suits, but for whatever reason they didn't want to record the Canadian voice actors so they replaced all the voice actors with some from LA.
Do you guys remember the TMNT/Power Rangers teem up episode of Power Rangers in Space?
It came full circle. Back in the 70's there was an Anime Super Sentai show called _Choujin Sentai Baratack_, then in the 80's Haim Saban brought the rights of _Dynaman_ for the _USA Network_'s Night Flight show and dubbed over the Japanese footage, then years laters he produced Power Rangers, then around the end of the MMPR era there was a 4 episode Anime OVA about TMNT called _Mutant Turtles: Superman Legend_ and finally Haim Saban made the TMNT The Next Mutation he finally made them join the Power Rangers in a special eppisode of Power Rangers in Space. What's a real let down however, is that those weren't the real turtles and those weren't the MMPR but at least we got something awesome.
You know what Beat'em up would be great to see you play, Castle Crashers. That game is so much fun

On the topic of beat ‘em ups being repetitive, I think that’s why I loved the Streets Of Rage series so much, they gave you more moves than most other beat ‘em ups did. Even the Third game had hidden combination moves that you could pull off.
This is cool, but... I really hope we get a proper Nerd episode focused on the Power Rangers!

I still have this! Love it, love how you get different moves when you morph, I.E: pushing away and attack when you land a jumpkick does a backflip kinda animation.
I wish I owned the MMPR movie game, I played that on SNES and that was an intense game, manual morphing was an awesome addition.

It really was. I remember throwing daggers and being amazed at how they bounced off of the villains. It was oddly satisfying.

I'm 100 % positive it is multiplayer, in that you unlock 2 player beat'em up Zord duel mode, where you get to play as either Megazord, silver or golden Cyclopsis. It's not Streetfighter 2 but fun (and I, for one, remember it as awesome). Surprisingly good game!
James & Mike Mondays may be no more, but at least I can still make my Mondays better with the show. Thanks for all the great content, guys!

Not as bad as the PRLSR on N64 but close. One of the worst indeed. The best part is when you fly on a ship rescuing people and even that is a 5 out of 10 or 7 out of 10 top, everything else is a decadent disaster of biblical proportions.

That stage with the huge "deathstar beam" looks a lot like a section of the final area of Blaster Master Zero, where you have to avoid the timed giant lasers, then destroy the big emitter on the wall. I wonder how many games use such a mechanic in one level or another.
