I just found your channel and listening to you speaking I was thinking : Man, I'm on EEVblog channel ???? Your voice inflections are exactly like Dave's :))))) And after that I saw that you know him :p
The difference between the "OLD MODEL" and "NEW MODEL" can be determined by the shape of the controller, Type A is larger, i think you have type A looks like 3/4 of a donut and the hold is partially filled in.. Type B controller is shaped like half a donut.
Yeeeeahhh.. thaaaaanks for watching haha.. I need to make more Bafang videos, I have been working on these motors for a year, I have soooo many good tips to give, how to keep them running and avoid mechanical or electrical problems. Its going to be a veeeery complete tutorial but to pack all that info the video will be quite long.. anyway it will help a lot of Bafang riders around the world so they can keep on using their POWEEEEERRR hahaa =]
Can you help me? I have the same circuit with the sensors for the magnet missing. I try to find the model number or the name of the sensors. It is a simple fix, I just have to solder them. If you could help that will be amazing. Thank you in advance!
Hey man i've been meaning to ask you. Because i have the bbso2 as well (and i know you have upgraded to the bbshd now) but the question is. Did your bbso2 get hot? I mean i mostly ride in the city but there's sometimes big stretches where i hold the throttle all the way down for like 5 minutes or so and after the bafang bbso2 gets extremely hot... too hot to touch anyway. Did yours get this hot as well??? Hope i'm not killing this motor because i just got it a month ago
What is average time between Failure in Bafang motors ? I can say mine Bafang 500W has 8400 km done already where 25% of tracks was in a mountain terrain.
Yeeeaaahh... this is not a normal user scenario... this was before the big BBSHD was released so to get more power I overvolted, hacked the programming and overgeared forcing the gears, the controller... basically the "destruction combo" hahhaha did all that and never lubricated to see how far I could push riding using the wrong gears... I can't really remember now but I think this motor failed around 1700kms.. actually much longer than I was expecting!! If geared with 42T chainring, user changing gears properly like normal bike, greasing the large internal gear every 3000km... this should last for thousands and thousands of kms... So far this is the highest torque and quietest motor avaiulable. I have tested many other brands along the years... Bafang is not perfect but is far ahead of all other conversion kits... Alternatively, you can use hub motors, they're good for older people and some girls who don't want to be changing gears, less performance, less maintenance but yeah.. bit less fun too
+Joseph Hickey Hi Joseph, thanks for watching =] There are many websites selling Bafang parts nowadays.. This is where I work in Australia www.emax-ebikes.com.au/collections/bafang-mid-drive-spare-parts in the USA california-ebike.com/product-category/parts/ If you can't find the part you need just drop them an email they may have what you need but it's not listed on their website =]
This is as far as I got watching your videos - I got nausea with you waving that bloody camera around. You also waffle a great deal so I turned the sound off. Apart from that it is very informative.
+Vera Woddip - Hahahaha.. I know how baaaaad this video was.. I always want to delete and make another better video but I have got so many views already.. I better keep and post another one with more info specially now that I work repairing these motors... I promise won't be moving the camera around.. I will make it on the bench... =]

any idea why my bbshd has a knocking noise when its on power under load?, usually happens when I'm going up hill and straining the motor a little bit

Bruno hi, how many kilometers has that motor at that point?
