This was Baby Brother's favorite show when we were kids. Little Brother and I would have to watch it with him so we could see Batman next. He was always disappointed when the teacher didn't call his name at Magic Mirror time day after day. But 1 day she said his name, you would have thought he had scored a Super Bowl touchdown. He yelled so loud he scared Mom and Dad in the next room. Baby Brother passed away last year from cancer. And I shed some tears watching this and remembering those days. Whoever posted this, thanks for the memories.

Never said my name either no matter how close I put my face to the TV in the 70s! Funny thing though is our original Miss Judie from Paducah, KY actually saw a response of mine to a blog post about Romper Room and wrote me an incredible sweet email some 30+ years later. I was really touched by it. The email sounded just as sweet as she did on the show!
Even though I was older than the target audience, I used to watch this before going to school because I only had one channel and it was the only thing to watch while I waited for the bus to come. But she never saw me in the magic mirror... Until today I randomly search and find this video, and she says my name!!! It made me laugh so hard, like a child. Of all the Romper Room videos I could have picked, I picked one where she saw me! It took 35 years, but now I know that magic mirror truly was magical!
I met Miss Molly today at a convention and she finally said my name! Folks, it is just as magical as you'd expect when you waited 40 years for Miss Molly to say your name 😄

To those who are now adults upset over not hearing your name, the show played no role in your name. Your parents chose unique names instead of a commonly used name. That meant you were special. One of a kind. Not boring if you will. I enjoyed hearing other names being called. To me, that meant someone else was happy. And that is always a good thing. We had a local one of these that got played on our local tv station and I was on it for one week and like most adults the romper room lady put me to work to keep me from gettn in trouble or talking too much and one boy hit me and I socked him ( off camera ) lol I was not able to see myself on it since there was no tape back then but for years and years I did have the letter from the station asking me to not apply for the show again since I'd "been a problem" lol and talked a lot. My mom got $15 a day for it $75 bucks in all, and I'm sure that helped us eat that month. It did not start a movie career for me tho. LOL MS
Oh my goodness! NOw it makes sense. To this day every time I break a mirror I save the handle. I did it! I figured it out without the help of a therapist. I have a drawer full of 'em'. I loved this show even tho she never called my name and thats when the multiple personalities started. So long ago-go. sigh. Its like there here with me right now. Such frond memories. :)
