      My man, you go through all that trouble to make a t-shirt fit? Wow! I grew up in the 90s I don't relate. I prefer my clothes loose & comfortable. I'd rather see you spend your time on learning how the world works. Like The Great Reset for example. That's a project being proposed by an individual by the name of Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum. It's basically a plan to bring in a world government dictatorship. You might say, that's conspiracy theory. Well Klaus & his Great Reset was just featured in a recent issue of Time magazine. As a matter of fact, The Great Reset made the cover. Look it up. I'm not saying you shouldn't be concerned about your appearance, but that's a little much dude.

      The easiest way is to buy your shirts to fit in the shoulder and neck and be at least big enough everywhere else, then you just adjust all the other areas. If shirts that fit in the shoulder are always too small elsewhere then it's more difficult, either look for specialty sizes, buy/make custom shirts, or for something like tee shirts try ladies plus size, since sometimes they are narrow in the shoulder but generous through the waist.

    Ah yes ! I have been making alterations to my clothes for ages . I just tailor my clothes as I see fit in order to achieve what I consider to be the perfect fit for me . I used to have a sewing machine but when it broke I decided to do all the stitching by hand. Yes it is a lengthy procedure and you will need lots of patience and time and some strong thread and needles but the end result is ALWAYS worth it .

    I've been doing high end prototype sewing for 25 years but never thought about tailoring a T-shirt. But why not do it? A cheap clothing item that fits well will look way better than a very expensive one that fits poorly.

    So a word of caution. Straight stitches on stretch fabrics aren’t really a good idea as if the fabric is pulled or stretches the stitches tend to break. Best recommendation use a serger/overlock sewing machine made for this specific type of alteration and fabric. Or trim the fabric leaving 1/4” seam allowance, pin and finish the edge with a zig zag stitch only. Zig zag stitches stretch with cotton knit material.

    • @kray3883
      @kray3883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree the straight stitch made me die a little, but a serger is overkill for anyone who only does a few simple alterations.
      All of the modern computerized machines have a stretch stitch (lingerie stitch/lightning bolt) and even the mechanical machines should be able to do a narrow zigzag.
      You can even get good results with a straight stitch if you set a longer stitch length and stretchhhhh your fabric as you sew, once you iron it it looks like a normal length stitch but it has enough ease in the thread that it won't pop.

    It really sucks for me...I'm 16 and 5'7, my weight is 58 KG.... No flex, but I have wider shoulders and chest so I got some T-shirts which fit perfectly on my entire body except my arms. My arms aren't even small.. The sleeves are too big. I told my parents about that then they said that "Everyone wears T-Shirts like this" me like wtf? I don't know what is wrong with them but when I wear those T-shirts I look skinny.
    My mom makes her dresses by a Tailor but doesn't really care about me... I just want to look good. that feels super sad, and I don't know how to sew or don't have the equipment for that, :(

      Don't give up. If you can't get a sewing machine, this can also be done by hand, though it takes a little longer. The rest of the process is the same in terms of marking and measuring. And hand sewing needles and such are far less expensive. Look up hand sewing tutorials here on TH-cam. Good luck!

    Here’s a sewing tip for you all never use a straight stitch when sewing on stretchy fabrics. Once the shirt stretches the stitches will pop always use a stretch stitch which is a narrow zigzag or use the lightening bolt stitch perfect for all stretchy material won’t pop when stretched
