15:40 This is also my viewpoint! The big jump in AI is behind us! There will be improvements but not as much as most people think today. It will be hard to overcome the inherent problems of the underlying neural networks. RAGs and other approaches can achieve a little bit more than is possible today, but even massive contexts can only try to keep a neural networks fantasy and stuff like shortcuts under control.
Interesting insight, not necessary agree on significance of AI , but experience with life in Sillicon valley and inner working of big expo is really interesting. I really appreciate your down to earth approach.
I find this official article enlightening: developers.googleblog.com/en/making-development-across-platforms-easier-for-developers/ Quote: > Flutter is Google's recommended SDK for when you want to share business logic and UI code across all platforms to deliver a consistent, reliable user experience. But do read the whole article before sharing.
Not considering moving back to Google, though I do collaborate with them externally. As such, I was invited by Google. I _did_ have to pay for my air fare and everything other than the I/O ticket, so it was still a significant expense. In fact, the I/O ticket would probably only be a small part of the full expense if I had to pay for it. That said, I don't know how much the ticket cost, and can't find anything about this online.
I was so disappointed by the keynote, especially the developer keynote. They were very much aimed at the investor community. I was relieved that there was some announcements beyond Gemma/Gemini in the "what's new in..." series of talks. ...although even then there seemed to be an edict to lead with the AI story.
I hear you. I didn't even watch most of the developer keynote because I knew what was coming. The real news are in the "What's New in..." talks anyway, as you say.
They didn't. I met with the Flutter team - all the people I know are there. There was a subteam that was moved to a different location (which, to be fair, means that most people will leave it - and will be replaced by other people). There were definitely individuals that were laid of in the past ~2 years. But I have no idea where the "Flutter team was laid off" rumor is coming from. It's just plain FUD, or, at the very least, genuine confusion.
We were SO lucky to have you for all those years that we did. I'm sorry I missed you at this I.O.
Heyyy! I was also sad I missed you. Hope we meet next time I'm in the area, though.
You always inspire me and make me view things with different perspective. Thanks Filip 😊
I was delighted to finally meet you in person 🙂. Thank you for sharing ! 😊

how about Compose Multiplatform, which is also share both biz logic and UI code like flutter ?
have you been invited by google or go there just by yourself? Do you consider moving back to google?

Did Google really layoff the majority of flutter team or this is just a speculations?
