    My man's got endless wilderness, flying machines, and a whole workshop available to him.
    You're gonna go far on TH-cam haha, can't wait to see what you get up to next.
    I'd love to learn a bit more about you in your next videos. Your flying experience, how you got into paramotoring, things like that!

    You did a better job than I could engineering this, no worries not a one-up here, I just had a thought that you may want a "fail safe" for the front bungie cords, if one were to come off or fail in flight it would tend to flip forward and down, with could lead to a costly landing like that. The idea would be similar to extension limiters on hardcore offroad trucks, so maybe some paracord in parallel with the bungie, and independent clip too.

    • @coltenwenger
      @coltenwenger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man thanks for the feedback! Your absolutely right! I had the same thought after I finished them. I think I probably will put a backup piece of cord on them, just in case.
      If I could do them over I would have mounted the aluminum brackets slightly further forward on the skis, so that way if bungees ever did fail the ski would rotate back and I would still be able to land.
      Which I may still do that.
      Thanks again man!

    At first I questioned your ski selection, (friction + weight) but seeing you launch made me think that sticky high-friction waterski solution might actually be a good thing due to you not having wheel brakes. No need to coast forever, helps slow you down. Great work!

    • @coltenwenger
      @coltenwenger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! Yeah I think I’m going to wax the skis before I use them again. Although they worked great, it wouldn’t hurt to have them a little slicker when I go to takeoff.

  • @ironeagletrike
    @ironeagletrike ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Colten, that is so awesome! I don't live where is enough snow to add them to my Xenit but if I lived in an area like you I would definitely copy you! The water part scares me unless I could come up with some great floatation for me and the trike. I was curious how it was going to go but looked like everything was perfect! Any changes or mods you would make after flying them now or are you completely happy with them?

    • @coltenwenger
      @coltenwenger  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much man!
      Yeah I doubt I’ll actual end up making pontoons for the trike, it would be pretty difficult to make the usable and safe.
      I’m very happy with them, the only thing I think I would do different, is mount the bracket on the ski slightly further forward so that the ski is back heavy. That way just in case one of the bungees ever broke or came loose in the air the ski would rotate straight up which would still allow me to land. They are a little front heavy the way they are right now, so if the bungees were to come loose the front end would rotate down and I’d have to reach out and disconnect the ski in order to land it

    Your content is marked as "for kids," which prevents it from being subscribed to (notifications) and limiting it. Please change that so that it will work like other channels. It seems counterintuitive, but kids content on TH-cam prevents engagement.
