Tucker, I have three friends with Trikes. They dearly love them. None with physical limitations. One of them has an enclosed trailer to carry his Trike. It fits perfectly. It has a drop down ramp and he can easily load it by himself. He is an older gentleman also. The trailer also serves as a hangar. I enjoy your channel and have been subbed for a good while. Keep posting pal.
I also have a feeling that some, like myself, would potentially feel a bit safer on a trike then doing foot launch/landings as a beginner. I guess maybe since it would feel more like a vehicle or something.
Excellent summary Tucker. My 'trike' is actually a quad - slightly more stable on the ground. I would add a couple 'cons' to 'trikes.' Because of the longer take-off distances, they tend to be more picky about wind direction. Unless your field is spacious in ALL directions, you just might not be able to take off safely if the field does not align with the wind direction. More active piloting required if not taking off DIRECTLY into the wind. Another con is that the added weight requires a somewhat larger wing, which makes the entire rig somewhat less nimble and requires larger control forces. HOWEVER - the pro's are that you create your own wind on a no-wind day, and as you mentioned, T/O is effortless. Another BIG pro with trike/quad is the ability to carry all kinds of gear, accessories, AND FUEL, with no additional effort - a HUGE plus on cross-country. Also, comfort, comfort and comfort. I didn't really perceive the loss of visibility you mentioned. Another HUGE advantage of trikes, at least to me, is the ability to use a heavier, but far more reliable 4-stroke, EFI-fuel-injected, instant electric start, like the one on my Green Eagle. Love my quad! Love your videos - you got me into this!!
from an engineering standpoint, breaking it down into fundamentals, the only thing seperating a trike from a plane would be a fixed wing. so its the logical thing that a trike of course can hold more fuel and such!
Me 4 years ago : bordom TH-cam recommendations: tucker gott flew to Mc Donald’s Me interesting 4 years later finishes training picking up equipment during winter break. Thanks for makeing that video so stoked to be part of the sport
SilenceTheQuiet 12000 2000 training and 10000 on equipment I will have to retrain because of school I am not able to fly until I can go get my equipment so I am stuck on the ground till December
Im in training to fly paramotor. I would prefer to foot launch but I have stage 4 terminal cancer and physically can't unfortunately so I'm trying to learn trike. I think trikes definitely have a place in the paramotoring community. Thank you Tucker for your videos. They motivated me to try to fly.after training i hope to fly with you someday.
long story about how difficult it can be to get airtime as a disabled person: I remeber this one time when we had at our local airfield a disable passenger for tandem flying. we dont do paramotoring but winch towing with our paragliders, land is completly flat tho, anyway. this girl came to us with her wheelchair over the grassy field, got nearly stuck a few times in sand and finally reached us, preparing for our next launch etc. and she came and was like: I made the whole way over this gras and all and I want to fly to. she told us that it has been a dream of her for so long to go paragliding but the tandem guys in the mountain did not want to take a disable tandem passenger my friend, the tandem pilot, and I came up witht his plan. we called our buddys and somehow managed to get this girl, sitting on the gras in a passenger harness. she wasnt able to walk, or too move her legs etc. she just could not run For winch towing running is kind of necessary eventually and so four of u hold her up at her harness and ran with her, till they were in the air they had a great flight and for the landing we ran next to them till we could grab her before reaching the ground and so we kinda caught her in the air xD it wasn't easy and kinda risky and afterwards we started to think about what stupid thing we have exactly done BUT it was so amazing to see her face when we agreed to tandem fly her. she still visits the airfield from time to time to watch us fly, always smiling and remebering back to her flight. we even cut some of the grassy part to make it easier for her wheelchair
That was very thoughtful and really made her day, but if you had missed her on landing or dropped her on takeoff, and she had been injured there could have been some catastrophic problems. I am glad it all worked out for you.
Suggestion in preparing for tandem. Use sand bags as your "passenger" before having someone fly with you. It will get you use to the additional weight without possible having an unsettling situation develop.
I personally don't think that is necessary. I've flown foot launch tandems before which is way more dependent on the passenger than the trike. With the trike, they have zero responsibility, just sit there. That being said, my first tandem will be with Jaclyn because she is the lightest and already an experienced pilot.
And for someone who is not experienced in tandem, that is a good idea. We do that all the time in the PPC world to learn how the extra passenger will feel in flight.
Thanks for reviewing both options. I really want to do this, but I'm not getting any younger. I know I could foot launch now, but in 10 years... who knows? Great video as always. Stay safe.
You need to check out the spec's of his trike I have been saving up for that same one before tucker wanted to do tandem. Cross country camping is my goal. You can get an additional 16 Lt. Tank with support from the Fly products. www.flyproducts.com/eng/trike-2/flash-cruiser/
Bought my trike PPG about a month ago. Hope to start training in October. Being 57 and disabled vet, I am a total newbie to this sport. Can’t wait to become airborne
I am glad you are talking about this. I was in great shape and have been flying, climbing, and skydiving since I was 18. I am only 40 now, but I was in a car accident a couple of years ago and I can't do the things I love anymore. Its been a downer to say the least. I have often thought of becoming a paramotor pilot, but the stigma of flying a trike has held me back as I don't think I could foot launch often if any because of my pain. It makes me happy you are covering this topic! Thank you Tucker!
There’s definitely no stigma for paramotor trike’s… most people won’t even know what it is but you’ll have a lot of people wanting to go for a rides.. people do occasionally make fun of trike’s in the motorcycle community but that’s unrelated
If you are going to ceramic coat the propeller, you should use a legit ceramic coating like gtechniq or my personal favorite Cquartz 3.0. I professionally detail cars as a side hobby, and I've always wondered if applying a Silica based spray to your glider would produce desireable effects. You could go ahead and ceramic coat all exterior surfaces on your paramotor, which will fill any micro scratches, and on the microscopic level, it will fill the valleys, and smooth everything down, which in essence should decrease drag, and increase speed. The UV protection alone from the ceramic coating (could extend the life of gliders) is a great feature, but the hyper smooth protection, and hydrophobic properties (along with the glassy glossy finish), makes ceramic coating appear viable in use with paramotors and potentially gliders as well. Edit: Upon further research I found that the ceramic coating would actually crack (as it is brittle) if applied to the glider. That means this is not a product you want on your glider.
@Dinosaur111Pwn, as I was reading your comment, I wondered about flexibility or lack thereof, and lo and behold, you came back and answered it yourself. I had been wondering about that very thing also, but it was a good possibility, except for added weight.

I’m the same way as you about Fall Tucker . Fall is a beautiful time of year but then comes Winter. I could skip Winter and go straight to Spring. Look forward to some tandem trike vids!
@TuckerGott I'm 45 and just discovered this and I wanna try it so badly. I have severely bad knees so knowing I can do a trike is literally the best thing ever. I know I'll never actually get to but I can dream.
Tucker; Without fear of being wrong, I can say that the simplicity of your words, the honesty of the way you share them is the main reason why so many of us are addicted to your videos. I said addicts, because I am one that every day I expect to hear something interesting and new from your experiences. 3 videos that caught my attention and that I am addicted to watching them are the day you went to McDonalds, the day you went with some friends to some lonely Bahamian islands and finally the day of the competition with the boys cross country where they left you even a car in one of the airports and you went with him to eat. Believe me, your videos are very addictive. Congratulations and we are not 3 or 4, we are thousands who see your videos. Successes!
Dude, love all your vids. My favorite video is the one that includes your mother... Thanks for showing us what it is to fly above the clouds so freely. Blessings to you and your family.
About transporting the trike: There are trikes that can be hooked to the tow hitch of a car for transporting on the street. No (un)loading required at all. E.g. the Fresh Breeze XCitor. In other words: They are flying car trailers. :-)
The only time I've ever flown in my life was in a trike my uncle owned. Very amazing experience. We had head sets that we didn't adjust the volume before flight and i got so excited when we took off that i almost blew my uncle's ear drums. I would love to do it again.
Tucker, a few years ago I had a back injury which I was able to recover from. I eventually took up foot launching but was always cognizant of the possibility of reinjury. My trike was the answer. Loading up after flying was a problem… which was easily solved. I made my trike able to retract it’s wheels to a narrower base so it fit into my pickup truck. Then mounted a very inexpensive ATV winch at the front of the truck bed. It only takes a few seconds to pull out two motorcycle ramps, hook the cable to the nose wheel and the winch does all the loading work. I even use the winch to safely unload using the same ramps. I have done this for over a year without problem, or back injury! If you have a problem lifting your gear to load or to run with it wheels , a ramp and winch may be your solution!
Tucker loading the trike in the back of your truck use two ramps for the back wheels so put the front wheel in the bed then roll the trike up just a thought

Hey Tucker, I think it’s an amazing idea to take up veterans and disabled people..not an opportunity that they get to come across much that’s for sure! Love the videos keep it up
Hey Tucker, after watching the video I was wondering how many different places you’ve flown your motor in? Could you make a map and for all the countries you’ve flown in
Thank you so much Tucker for your content. I am a late 50s man in good health but do have some back issues. This may seem like a dumb question but do the foot lodge para motors have some kind of a foot rest that will fold out from underneath to support your feet when you’re flying and is retractable when it is time to come in and land? Thank you for your time and answering my question
Hey Tucker. I agree with everything you said about the trikes. I wonder if a trailer hitch could be fitted to the trike's nose gear, to allow it to be toed, without having to heft it onto a truck. Of course, that means fitting a tag, and break/turn signals to, so, may be a bit of a bother? Not sure. Just a thought, to ease logistics, a bit. Thanks for the video.
This answers many questions thanks. This will be my next project. Used to own a Cessna, sold it, no fun to just fly around the block (used it to commute to work). But I will be 80 when I'm ready, so maybe the trike will be the way to go. Not sure I can go thru a week of foot launch training but I should be physically able to tow and learn the wing.
Tucker, I am following you since you had about 2K followers. Congrat for your success. I have been paramotoring for 5 years now. You have been a great inspiration for me and for many other. Keep going the good work. Now, Trike vs foot lunch: one point you did not adress is the qty of fuel one can carry while triking. I do only foot lunch and as a result, I am limited to apprx 2 hours of flying. I am 62 years old and i weight 220 pounds. If I would do trike lunch I could certainly carry more fluel and As a result, I think I could fly up to 4 hours.
I’m lovin the opp to be able to free fly. When I was a kid into my teens I would have ext vivid dreams flying fast over land close to the ground, as I was running my body would lift off just above the ground cruising, I could speed up, I could go into the air, it was such a thrill to do that, but also quite a burden to not be able to talk about it to anyone & not do it real life. Blessings on your trips! Cool vid, thanx for the info
I’ve been flying trikes (WSC-the original trike) for quite a while. The performance is fantastic, but would upset anyone observing in the park, and would be asking for trouble. It’s more like flying a motorcycle, and I use electric fleece liner in the winter (available at any motorcycle shop). Works fantastic, even in Colorado.
You could make a 4-wheels frame for the paramotor, which would allow to touch down with your foot to push it, but not enough that you can't run with it. Think of an upside down V viewed from each side of your body (front, back, left right), with one wheel on each arm.
I am 52 and not getting any younger. I also felt self-training on wheels would be far easier. But additional cons to foot launch: greater chance of injury on launch and landing. Also, far greater chance of damaging your equipment if you trip or fall. I have been flying wheel launch now for 2 years and even with 2 emergency engine outs I have never even chipped a prop or damaged a cage. I am in it for a calm gentle flight without the shenanigans so all in all wheels were a great choice for me.
Who remembers back when he used to strap his camera around his shoe? (yes i know i said this in his last vid, but i wanna keep doing it till he acknowledges how much my eyes were hurting from that experience)
I am a disabled veteran with a spinal cord injury that prevents me from being able to run. What is the max weight allowed on the trike? I'm 6 1" weighting in at 215 Yikes... I have over 100 military static line jumps..
Did a quick search for you. Found this: "Most paramotors can lift a passenger that weighs up to 350 lbs(160 Kg), but passengers over 220 pounds will experience better flight quality with a more powerful engine. The max capacity for quads and trikes is around 800 lbs. Anything above that can cause poor performance and strain on the wing and engine." outdoortroop.com/how-much-can-you-weigh-and-still-ride-a-paramotor/ 215 lbs is no big deal at all. You're good!
Hey Tuck, you are correct on the instruction part, but only if you charge money. I’m pretty sure you have a PPL. With that said, you can fly anyone who wishes to fly with you, as long as you’re not compensated. If you don’t have a PPL, you are obligated to your organization’s policy which was “negotiated with the FAA” (as an exemption to 103). A courtesy call to your local FSDO, would bear good news (I’m quite sure). Had this very discussion with my FSDO 6 months ago.
When you're a new pilot the benefit to trike launch and landing is you don't have to worry about breaking props and hoops nearly as much. You can also drive to the best spot on the field to take off into the wind and if you absolutely have to land down wind in an emergency you can do so with no problem.
you should do a video identifying what type of fields you are flying over. corn field ect. its so cool watching you fly low through the fields but i always wonder what you are flying over.
Another reason to fly by Trike is the in-flight food and drinks. This winter, you can take a thermos full of your lovely hot coffee and maybe some munchies to eat mid-flight. Might also be better for carrying thermal suits or heated jackets so the cold is a little more bearable. Speaking of bears - maybe Jaclyn could get a Bear onesie?!
Mo Sheldon from Airparamo in Maricopa AZ, builds a transport receiver for his Grazhopper trike. It works well for several trikes and is quite reasonably priced.
A couple things not mentioned: A paramotor has less ability to deal with suboptimal conditions. You can't move side to side to get under a wing that hasn't come up quite right, if it falls to one side, now you are getting out, fixing the wing, walking back to the trike, etc. There's a reduction in landing options relative to foot launch, a further reduction in glide performance, and the added mass can increase the consequences of a rough landing or takeoff. In other words it takes all the disadvantages of a hangglider trike (portability) and combines them with all the disadvantages of PPG (slow speed, vulnerable launch mechanics). While also removing the main benefits of foot launch PPG, convenience and the ability to fly low with relatively little risk in many places. I can see the benefit for a PPG pilot wanting to do tandems for sure, but for someone wanting to get into ultralight aviation that needs wheels, I would for sure go with a hangglider trike or fixed wing ultralight before a PPG trike (imo).
Hi Tucker! Great Video! I'm Afraid That I'm A Bit Old For This Sport (I'm 59 Next Month), But I Enjoy Watching Other People Do It. If I Wasn't So Old, I Would Still Need A Trike As I Just Had Hip Surgery 6 Weeks Ago And I Can No Longer Run Far OR Can My Hip Handle The Additional Weight I Would Have To Carry On My Back. This Definitely Looks Like A Total BLAST! Keep Up The Good Work Posting Your Videos, I Will Continue To View Them!
Tucker, been following your vids for a little while. Always educational and fun. I am taking LSA Trike lessons on a Airborne that requires a sport pilot license (you're Private pilot before getting into paramotor?) and you can have a passenger with no issues. It's a lot of fun and slightly more practical for "older" folks like me. (65 and just retired) Speeds are around 65-80 mph depending on the wing. If you haven't flown in one, check it out. It's not as pure as foot launch but you are climbing at 900fpm right from take off. Used ones can be had with four stroke engine for about 20k. 2 stroke are much more affordable. Keep up the fun vids and I will see you in the wild blue yonder. Respectfully- Jim
@@duanetschmidt not really talking about launching but I would disagree on that as well. The more weight you have the more stable it flies. That's my experience anyway, l believe physics would support that. Maybe I'm all wrong, I just know I enjoy flying trikes more but definitely has some cons.
Steve Lehman A more heavily loaded wing can penetrate high winds better. But, that is a matter of wing loading. So, yes a trike will add weight - all else being equal. Speedbar and trims out can also help penetrate as it changes the angle of attack. I don’t think trike pilots normally use speedbar unless they have some unusual type of rigging in place. However, in high wind launches a trike is at risk of turtling. Foot launch has a huge advantage on high wind launch.
Another con for the trike is it needs a relatively smooth runway. Legs and feet are much better at handling longer grass or rougher ground or hilly dunes.
I absolute enjoy watching, video commentaries. Awesome! So far me, the 'idea' of flying paramotor or trike paramotoring is still in the observation fantasy phase. I have idea suggestion of trike paramotoring you may like to consider. Perhaps try toting camping gear and go off to remote places camping 24 ~ 48 hour experiences. The trikes paramotor seems like a safe means to carry extra gear for such adventures.
Oddly really enjoying these trike videos. Great to see you doing something slightly new and seeing how you are going about it. Never before have I wanted to fly a trike... til now! Just wish we had the space to launch one. Looking forward to seeing that first tandem!
With the increased cargo capacity of a trike if you could open up some interesting options carrying more fuel or food. You could go airfield hopping at the very least. In some regions of the country I would think roads are good enough and quiet enough to land and launch from opening up overnight or multi-day trips.
Hey man! Just wanted to say keep it up... yur gonna be the reason why I'm flying within the next year...your very respectful of everyone and everything, so if anyone gives u any issue... just keep in mind they're probly just jealous of yur life lol so keep it up! Greeting from Italy! Although I've somehow paused paramotoring for now, due to lack of free time, I've been flying since 2014...and the last few years with the same "flash" trike as you have, with a Vittorazi 180 monster. Besides being 57 and becoming more and more "lazy"😜 as the years go by, another HUGE pro for trikes is the possibility to take-off and mostly land UPWIND... an almost sure recipe for disaster with a traditional paramotor. Keep in mind that here spaces, rules, and regulations are way more restricted and limited than you guys have over there, and T.O. and LZ are few/uncommon here.Keep up the good work man!

One of my life goals is to learn how to fly and visit different places around the world and fly, I'm currently in Egypt enjoying your content instead of typing my PSYC essay.
Hi, Tucker, I was hoping you would be on the trike today, whether solo or on tandem. Al least I had a lot of comments to read. Take care of yourself and thanks for sharing.
I have converted from foot launch paramotor to a simple three wheel trike. Reason for changing is that my knees are getting bad and I’m older. However, one thing you did not point out is that I think trikes are generally safer in terms of launch and landing. I say generally because there are specific circumstances in which foot launch would be safer. However, that said,You are not going to trip and fall when you are launching on a trike. You’re not going to trip and fall when you’re landing on a trike. you have the benefit of wheels for a cushion should something go wrong. You also don’t have to worry as much about low downwinders because so long as you are on fairly level ground you can touch and go, so long as you have the skill level. I bought a simple three wheel trike that has no view obstruction and a little larger wheels for beach launch. I like the added safety of having my legs out in front of me and the wheels under me. However,“Different strokes for different folks”.
Ah the age old question.... I've debated this for years myself. I've tried to make trikes sexy and show how versatile they can be. You're right though there are pros and cons for each. Some of us are lucky enough to do both! I just finished my tandem training with One Up Adventures as well.
After trying to get up to snuff for foot launch, I finally had to decide that pinching nerves in my shoulders was not worth it. My instructor set about getting me setup on wheels. I wish I had started with that understanding, but thought I just had to get tougher.
Statement & Question. Who is USPPG? Because the last time I knew they were not a US Government Agency! Not part of the FAA! So it's just a private company that Jeff Goin put together. So how does Aviator PPG and USPPG have the authority to issue licenses, certificate, ECT? I fly both here in the US and in the DR tandem and I don't have any issue with the law. I do have a WAIVER FORM to release me of liability. Per Attorney!
2:04 - 2-questions that come to my mind: 1) Are you certain that the ingredients in the _Turtle Wax_ (or any other automotive finish application/treatment) is safe to use, on the prop? Check with the prop manufacturers, please. It's rare yet, I've had instances where (particularly, undisclosed ingredients) of various cleaners, waxes and, shine products have actually degraded the surface integrity which; _could_ lead to structural integrity losses, over time - additionally, that which may take multiple applications to effect. _Sorry, I can't think of any exact examples at the moment; short of inadvertently 'crazing' some translucent plastics from a cloth that had residual wheel polish on it._ 2) Will you try sandbags or such for (incrementally?) weighting the passenger seat on the trike, as you prepare for carrying passengers? Thank you @Tucker - I don't normally comment on your channels however; I do enjoy watching them. Cheers-
Have you ever herd of rc paramotors? You should try them they are really neat things to play with and you can simulate a full collapse and see what happens when you fly it in strong winds also they are heavy duty so you can crash them over and over with out breaking.
Tucker, I have been watching you over 3 yrs now. I'm a disabled military Vet. I would deff pay for all costs and what ever you would charge to fly tandem on your Trike. I post on my discord server your youtube vids for my members to watch; copy/ paste.
I would really love to see a longer trip with the trike. My amateurish thinking is that it would make longer ranges much easier. beyond the ability to carry more fuel more easily, you can also throw a bag or other gear in the front seat. Mounts for GPS, and other instruments are an obvious bonus. But one big one would be ground range. You always have to carefully pick your landing zones and hiking with your motor and gear is such a major pain in the... legs... However with the trike you could taxi to a gas station to re-fuel, then taxi to a hotel. In the morning you could taxi out to a more ideal place to take off. It seems like it would make a longer trip much more pleasant. Toss a couple of pieces of polycarb in front of your face and over your legs and even cold weather may be less of an issue. Would love to hear your thoughts Tukker, otherwise happy motoring!
Hey I am one new subscriber! I am Located in East Tennessee. A will be going through school and getting into this!! Love the videos and look forward to more!
Super light mono trike and 15 min electric power to thermal or ridge. That´s what I need !!!!! Hope you can explore that road for me. Love your videos. Andrés from Santiago, Chile.
oh one more thing,my trike the passenger sits behind the pilot.you can get dual controls to allow the passenger to have flight control..this makes me very interested in the trike your flying.ive never seen one like that.ive seen a few different brands but they were either one or two people useing the rear seat slightlyelevated from the pilots seat.brands like six chuter, blue heron, buckeye.it blows my mind to see the type your useing.i had a snowmobile type trailer to haul my machine with.it wouldnt quite fit into the back of my pickup.it was easy to move around though.i only needed say around 50 feet to launch and i could land in 20 feet with no problem.we would fly out of cow pastures and land in a homes driveway.the only thing we had to be sure of was clearance for the chute.
One thing that has kept me away from trikes is to lauch do you have to be directly i. The Wind? And most runways only point north and south wouldn't the wind have to be directly north and south and also can you lanch them in a field like foot lanch where the grass is not mowed low?
Though the trike would be convenient in some ways, I’m going to go for foot lunch! Can’t wait to hit my savings goal and go to Aviator for trading. Though it’s going to take a long time since both my furloughed jobs don’t have the need for me due to Covid-19. I’m hoping to be hired at some point soon in the future. Really rough going from $38 hr to unemployment. I have faith and through life experience figure if I stay positive, keep a smile and keep this goal, eventually I’ll be able to “ Run into the Sky” like my childhood dream. Tucker and Jaclyn Thank you for keeping me motivated through these times. Hope to hit the skies with y’all sometime! Mad love and respect!
Hopefully this video answers some of the commonly asked trike questions! Stay tuned for the first tandem flight coming very soon. I can't wait!

Thanks for the video. I would like to ride and meet you one day.

Jerry....how much did that quad cost you, if you don't mind me asking?
from an engineering standpoint, breaking it down into fundamentals, the only thing seperating a trike from a plane would be a fixed wing. so its the logical thing that a trike of course can hold more fuel and such!

4 years later finishes training picking up equipment during winter break.
Thanks for makeing that video so stoked to be part of the sport
About how much money did you spend?
SilenceTheQuiet 12000
2000 training and 10000 on equipment I will have to retrain because of school I am not able to fly until I can go get my equipment so I am stuck on the ground till December
That’s exactly how I came across Tucker and now I’m also considering training and getting myself a paramotor down the road 😄
hahahahahahaha im literally in the same situation. i start training in 7 days. first video i watched was the one where he stops traffic in the road.
@@joecombes1964 good luck man. I finally got flying in April and I have done 21 flights since training
Are you still there ?
long story about how difficult it can be to get airtime as a disabled person:
I remeber this one time when we had at our local airfield a disable passenger for tandem flying. we dont do paramotoring but winch towing with our paragliders, land is completly flat tho, anyway. this girl came to us with her wheelchair over the grassy field, got nearly stuck a few times in sand and finally reached us, preparing for our next launch etc.
and she came and was like: I made the whole way over this gras and all and I want to fly to. she told us that it has been a dream of her for so long to go paragliding but the tandem guys in the mountain did not want to take a disable tandem passenger
my friend, the tandem pilot, and I came up witht his plan. we called our buddys and somehow managed to get this girl, sitting on the gras in a passenger harness. she wasnt able to walk, or too move her legs etc. she just could not run
For winch towing running is kind of necessary eventually and so four of u hold her up at her harness and ran with her, till they were in the air
they had a great flight and for the landing we ran next to them till we could grab her before reaching the ground and so we kinda caught her in the air xD
it wasn't easy and kinda risky and afterwards we started to think about what stupid thing we have exactly done BUT it was so amazing to see her face when we agreed to tandem fly her.
she still visits the airfield from time to time to watch us fly, always smiling and remebering back to her flight. we even cut some of the grassy part to make it easier for her wheelchair
Risky thing you did? Probably, Stupid? HELL NO! Seriously cool!!!
I salute you & your bros
That was very thoughtful and really made her day, but if you had missed her on landing or dropped her on takeoff, and she had been injured there could have been some catastrophic problems. I am glad it all worked out for you.
Well done 👍 thats awesome
@@dougscott8161 yesss we realized this too ^^"
I dont recommend doing it in this way!
we would do this again 100% BUT with a bit more preparation etc.
That's dumb. What's she gonna happen she break her legs? All kidding aside....
Y'all did a great thing
Being a veteran myself,i would love to see you taking up people who are unable to do it on their own. Veteran or not...
Tucker Gott Jaclyn... “human sandbag”. 😂😜
And for someone who is not experienced in tandem, that is a good idea. We do that all the time in the PPC world to learn how the extra passenger will feel in flight.
That’s what we do in the helicopter for a first Solo. They pick up very different without 180+ lbs sitting next to you!
Well if things don't work out with the trike, you can always do deliveries for Home Depot 😆
Thanks for reviewing both options. I really want to do this, but I'm not getting any younger. I know I could foot launch now, but in 10 years... who knows? Great video as always. Stay safe.
I bet the trike could be handy for transporting cargo such as camping gear or added fuel for air to air transfers.
Thank you Tucker!
stigma from whom? you might be hanging around the wrong people
There’s definitely no stigma for paramotor trike’s… most people won’t even know what it is but you’ll have a lot of people wanting to go for a rides.. people do occasionally make fun of trike’s in the motorcycle community but that’s unrelated
I had been wondering about that very thing also, but it was a good possibility, except for added weight.
tucker as having watched you for several years now and i love you approach to attitude you have such a positiveness live life !! but you such careing, realising you have something special and now realising many people cant do this ! immobile , disable elderly , good for you tucker for giving others an experience , your parents should be proud for the man you are 🙏🏻🤗🇦🇺safe flying

I’m the same way as you about Fall Tucker . Fall is a beautiful time of year but then comes Winter. I could skip Winter and go straight to Spring. Look forward to some tandem trike vids!
In Texas, fall is my favorite. It means it's the most time before summer.

This video was super helpful for me, dude! Love the way you structure these videos.
Canadian private pilot here. Love your videos. Been thinking about learning to fly paramotors for a couple years now. I enjoy your content! Thx.
Tucker Gott Would the trike be safer in a crash situation? It seems like it would be, almost like it could absorb some of the crash energy.
About transporting the trike: There are trikes that can be hooked to the tow hitch of a car for transporting on the street. No (un)loading required at all. E.g. the Fresh Breeze XCitor. In other words: They are flying car trailers. :-)
Just picked up a Moster 185 with a APCO EZ lift wing. My son and I plan on taking lessons next spring. Can't wait.
The only time I've ever flown in my life was in a trike my uncle owned. Very amazing experience. We had head sets that we didn't adjust the volume before flight and i got so excited when we took off that i almost blew my uncle's ear drums. I would love to do it again.
Hats off to you for turning your passion into a career choice.
If you have a problem lifting your gear to load or to run with it wheels , a ramp and winch may be your solution!
looks like so much fun, I think I would like the paramotor....looks like you could land just about anywhere and take off too.
Tucker loading the trike in the back of your truck use two ramps for the back wheels so put the front wheel in the bed then roll the trike up just a thought

Works fantastic, even in Colorado.
it's always great waking up to see a new Tucker video to start the day
You could make a 4-wheels frame for the paramotor, which would allow to touch down with your foot to push it, but not enough that you can't run with it. Think of an upside down V viewed from each side of your body (front, back, left right), with one wheel on each arm.
This is a great way to get around thwe worn out knee syndrome. Thanks. Great vid. as always!
This video was a great review. I am disabled and I know I could not foot launch. Great videos Tucker.
It's cool, answering all the questions up in the air... keep on flying..
I get too dizzy to often to ever do this but keep watching these videos...Looks so fun.
I am a disabled veteran with a spinal cord injury that prevents me from being able to run. What is the max weight allowed on the trike? I'm 6 1" weighting in at 215 Yikes... I have over 100 military static line jumps..
Thank you for your service.
I've seen a guy 365lbs and 6'4" launch
I'm no expert, but that sounds like less than the weight of 2 average people, and the trike is rated for tandem, so I'd say you are good sarge.
Did a quick search for you. Found this:
"Most paramotors can lift a passenger that weighs up to 350 lbs(160 Kg), but passengers over 220 pounds will experience better flight quality with a more powerful engine. The max capacity for quads and trikes is around 800 lbs. Anything above that can cause poor performance and strain on the wing and engine."

215 lbs is no big deal at all. You're good!
aye, thank you for your service.

I bet this would be an AWESOME way to scout for deer hunting!
Thanks Tucker for the great videos.
Man I wish I could get into this sport!!! I’d love to be able to do this.
I really wish this wasn't so expensive... I would love to do this on a weekend.
@Pandacat 666 No-- because I am still sitting here wishing it wasn't so expensive.
I appreciate the answer about how you’re able to fly tandem
Just got my self one now just waiting on the wing to come then get some lessons then hope to be doing this
Mo Sheldon from Airparamo in Maricopa AZ, builds a transport receiver for his Grazhopper trike.
The 3 blade prop much louder when ur talking I definitely noticed a big difference! Great video
Enjoyable video with good insight on the two ways of paramotoring. Thanks Tucker. 👍
Another benefit of the trike is you can handle a little more wind and it is slightly faster being heavier. I have a tandem Destiny trike.
Actually, you can handle more wind foot launching. Because, you can reverse launch.
Hey Tucker... Add a come along and a ramp to load you're trike by yourself, into the back of your beautiful Ford F-150... Very easy...
😉👍
With the increased cargo capacity of a trike if you could open up some interesting options carrying more fuel or food. You could go airfield hopping at the very least. In some regions of the country I would think roads are good enough and quiet enough to land and launch from opening up overnight or multi-day trips.
Hey man! Just wanted to say keep it up... yur gonna be the reason why I'm flying within the next year...your very respectful of everyone and everything, so if anyone gives u any issue... just keep in mind they're probly just jealous of yur life lol so keep it up! And I hope I can fly with u some day... I live near niagara falls... so that would probly make for one hell of a video for u!
Sounds awesome!
Would a full wing stall or a spin be harder to recover from or harder to bail with a reserve from in a (silo) trike? Seems like it would.

What are the reasons you chose the large roll cage trike over the small weight shift model?
Tucker - over the cold winter try building a Lite Trike for a Nitro or Scout paramotor
You might really like the flying a normal paramotor with wheels attached
One of my life goals is to learn how to fly and visit different places around the world and fly, I'm currently in Egypt enjoying your content instead of typing my PSYC essay.
Tucker could you do a video on how you strap your paramotor down in the bed of your truck?
Im loving the trike vids. Keep them coming plz 👍👍
After trying to get up to snuff for foot launch, I finally had to decide that pinching nerves in my shoulders was not worth it. My instructor set about getting me setup on wheels. I wish I had started with that understanding, but thought I just had to get tougher.
I was at my local corn maze when 2 paramotorists flew over. We waved to each-other it was nice.
Please ramble as much as possible. love your videos and love you man man!

So how does Aviator PPG and USPPG have the authority to issue licenses, certificate, ECT? I fly both here in the US and in the DR tandem and I don't have any issue with the law. I do have a WAIVER FORM to release me of liability. Per Attorney!

It's rare yet, I've had instances where (particularly, undisclosed ingredients) of various cleaners, waxes and, shine products have actually degraded the surface integrity which; _could_ lead to structural integrity losses, over time - additionally, that which may take multiple applications to effect. _Sorry, I can't think of any exact examples at the moment; short of inadvertently 'crazing' some translucent plastics from a cloth that had residual wheel polish on it._
2) Will you try sandbags or such for (incrementally?) weighting the passenger seat on the trike, as you prepare for carrying passengers?
