    Christine, Prior to learning about the O Cedar Mop, I was using the Steam Mop to Clean My Hardwood Floors. I learned. When the Pads on the Steam Mop becomes soiled. Though the Steam My be Sanitizing. Throughout the remaining cleaning process, You are just spreading dirt all over Your Floors. Finally! Upon using the O Cedar. My Floors are both sanitized and clean.

    I love when you do reviews! I do like how much power this steam mop has- looking at your videos with the cross wave- it seems like it (cross wave) cleans better. Could be the angle. These reviews help so much because we can see them in action!

    I just ordered the new & improved Shark Steam & Scrub with the removable water tank & power steam trigger. Tip: Use distilled water in the mop. I used tap water in my first mop & it got horribly clogged with mineral deposits. Also, I spray a little all-purpose cleaner on the floor as I mop. Works great!

    Just a word of caution, if you use steam on laminate (and also hardwood) floor you are basically destroying it over time. It also voids your warranty. Wood doesn’t deal well with high pressure steam.

      @papuzka0 There are sealed and unsealed hardwood floors. You can't put them all in the same category. SEALED hardwood floors can withstand the moisture and heat from a steam mop, and that's what it also says on the box. "Designed for all sealed hard floors"

    Does it work? If you want to clean a tile floor, it does well on the tile, just not on the grout. The surface of the grout is lower than the tile's surface, and the spinning pad can not scrub into the grout line. Just did 400 or 500 square feet of floor in a kitchen/dining and foyer. The grout lines were dark in some areas, and I had to get on my hands and knees + use a heavy-duty grout-cleaning liquid product to get a good result along with the Shark S7000/1. Like seemingly all steam mops, it's just not robust enough for cleaning the grout on a tile floor. The amount of steam that comes out of this product is modest.
    What is needed is a spinning brush rather than a spinning pad product. But I suppose the mechanism required to spin brushes and the brushes themselves are likely to be considerably more expensive. I don't see a product on the market for home use that has good consumer ratings. If you have found one, let us know.
    The floor being cleaned in this video is just too easy. The floor is smooth, waterproof and the same color as dirt.

    • @KeepCalmAndClean
      @KeepCalmAndClean  ปีที่แล้ว

      The product is not marketed to clean grout. Grout requires actual cleaning products and scrubbing brushes. This is marketed for hard flooring.

    • @KeepCalmAndClean
      @KeepCalmAndClean  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no beater bar and it’s not a vacuum it’s a steam mop. It’s two spinning mop pads. They are soft and made for hard flooring. The whole point of the mop is so that it spins and scrubs for you so no there is no option to turn them off. They do not do any damage whatsoever to hard flooring. It’s the same as if you were scrubbing but without the elbow grease if you will.

But with this being easier to push and move it would help me so much also with spine injuries it hard on me to scrub. I also didn’t know what the difference was between the two and wasn’t sure if it was just the 2 or three modes so ty now I know I’m probably going to get it but my hubby won’t be hapthat I got another especially because I bought the neat but I find that hard on me because you have to bend and push a little more and that causes me pain

    It took a while, like 10 minutes of messing with it before it actually steamed. I do not know why. I recommend trying to make sure the pads are attached well before starting it. Keep trying. I was about to return it when suddenly it started steaming. I had to restart it like 10 times because it shuts off after 30 seconds. I think it took a while for the water to move down the tube or something. It is not as good as one of my other steam mops on the porcelain tile floors even on the normal setting but it polished my wood floor beautifully on low. I have the blue one that only has the light and normal setting. I wish I had gotten the other one with all three settings. Mine is not pouring water like some other report but it used the water pretty fast.

It came with 2 scrubbing pads and 2 dusting pads which the box stated "brings a polished finish to wood floors". However, I realized when I got home that there were no instructions for the dusting pads. Do you use them with steam? I guess you have to since the machine doesn't work without steam, but how do you polish with steam? Something's not right. I cannot find any info about using these dusting and polishing pads online.

    Thanks for such a thorough review. I have an old Shark steam mop & have been wanting to replace it for years but it still works so I haven't pulled the trigger lol. I had seen a few with spinning pads & I think I'm staying with Shark, but am undecided between this one & the S7201/Steam & Scrub with Blaster Technology (silly to add technology to the name, can just as easily say steam blast or spray lol). Anyhow, I was wondering if you have tried it since you mentioned having to press down more & take more passes over the area of your hardwood floor that had the grease stain. When I have a tough stain with my current steam mop, I just pump a little extra steam & let the mop head sit on it for a few seconds then mop over it. If it needs a little more attention, I do areas near to let it cool & repeat...but I don't want to do this anymore. I'd rather have a mop that does it for me, HA! Seriously though, do you know if the S7201 is better for removing the occasional stain than the S7001? Thanks & I look forward to checking out your other videos.

    Hi Jessi! Jamie here!! (Jamie from Jamie's journey told me about you! 😃)
    Quick question, I recently purchased the Shark Scrub & Spin steam mop. I noticed it leaves swirl/streak marks. Not sure if its the type of laminate I have or if they're just super dirty 😬. I know you don't have laminate floors? Anyhow I use just tapped water at first, then tried with using distilled water, then added some vinegar to the distilled water, and then tried adding rubbing alcohol to the distilled water and vinegar mixture and no luck. Still seeing the swirls/streaks. Any suggestions?? I really like the steam mop and spinning of the pads to help scrub without having to reallllllly scrub... Thanks!!

      Oh goodness. That’s exactly the suggestions I would have had for you. When you washed the pads did you use anything other than detergent? Could be that I suppose. Otherwise I truly don’t know. I hope you can find a solution tho. 😭

      @@KeepCalmAndClean I haven't washed the pads yet. I just tried it straight out of the box. I'm hoping that its because my floors are just dusty. But I plan on washing them with my other microfiber towels wit only detergent and then give it a try again... Hopefully it'll be better! Thanks for getting back to me!!! 😁

    It feels a little gimmicky to me. Playing off professional floor polishers. Maybe if there was a brush on the outside of the pad somehow to scrub a little better. Does that make sense?

      I do see how it helps take off some work from me because with my traditional steam mop I apply pressure where as with this I don’t feel the need to. What I’m really waiting for is a Crosswave with steam!

      It could lift the image on the laminate…you can hardly use anything on laminate. I was glad when we switched to vinyl plank when we redid our kitchen. Loved the look of my laminate but wanted to have more options to clean my floors.

    • @KeepCalmAndClean

      Who said it doesn’t have suction? It def does it has a dirty water tank that collects all of the dirt. Strange comment.

    • @wangmengj
      @wangmengj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KeepCalmAndClean please have a look at my comments, I said IF. I seriously did not know it has any suction power, because 1. I did not hear it from your review, 2. I can not find it from its Amazon product description. But anyway, my point is the main function of it is definitely not cleaning (, and that's why you vacuum the area before using it in your review). I believe mopping and sanitizing are what it is designed for.
