I loooove my bissel smartsteam BUT it did have issues but using the warranty was super easy and fast and it’s worked perfectly ever since. I highly recommend buying extra pads, use distilled water, and cycle the pads when cleaning, split the area you are cleaning depending on how dirty it is.
Great video! I decided to go with the Bissel SpinWave Smartsteam over the shark since it was on sale. From my research it looks like both mops are about even in their performance. My house has mostly tile so I am not worried about damaging any wood. I think it is really important to point out like mentioned in the video, the bissel has a mode that allows for no steam. So, if you also have real hardwood floors in your home and are afraid of using the steam, you could still use the bissel without the steam on those floors. The shark is steam on all the time. This could be a deal breaker for some people. I used my bissel a few days ago for the first cleaning and it worked great. Comes with 4 pads total and I bought 6 more off amazon. The only issue with steam mops like this is at a certain point the mop pads get pretty dirty and you are just pushing and mopping around the whole house with dirty pads. My plan is to use 6 or 8 pads to clean my home, as they get dirty I will pull the dirty ones off and into the washing machine and slap a fresh set of pads on. Then easy clean up just start your washing machine and use a little bleach and detergent to clean those pads and let them air dry afterwards. This way works really good for me and I don't feel like I am just pushing dirt around my house. Also, like mentioned in the video it is pretty important to do a good vacuum job before using.
