1:10 - That's why Lars is so important to the band. It massively improves that intro. Those little things that make Metallica so great, he has some real insight there.
Agreed fellas.... I think that the sound of the album or the fact that the quality wasn’t so great, contributed to it being underrated. Because the riffs and songs were so badass lol. How can you not love those tracks?!?
agreed... imo Rob is the key balance that brought them back to where they need to be. very underrated bassist... his work with ozzy and jerry cantrell speaks for itself.
They should do another " a year and a half" videos with the guys again when they record the new album and go on tour again. Loved those videos from the 90' s.
@@Tommy712rus also ngl your cover is sick, but try to watch some live videos of him playing that solo (2009 World Magnetic, 2011 30th Anniversary) because some of the finger positions dont match up, but im just nitpicking of course
@@JoshSingleTon2 totally true S&R is the prime example of that. Hetfield's solo is a delicious masterpiece, and then comes Kirk with the most retarded soloing I've heard come from him
You see dude, it's Lars since the times when Mustaine played Sweet Home Alabama turned to Mechanix/Four Horsemen. That said, it's clear that Lars is so important to the Metallica rifferama.
James and Lars are the Metallica brain in my popinion but there all are the perfect team!!! after all James and Lars did the first Thrash song Hit the lights! =D
What's weird these days is that Megadeth and Metallica are really close, and James Hetfield actually has much, much bigger personal problems with Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman. I don't know if it's only when the cameras are around but James tries. Jeff and Kerry just sat there with half of a fake smile between them X'D
@MusicSpeaksVolumes02 Yeah I was thinking the same thing, using his guitar seemed natural to him like having a conversation, like just another language. But I will always prefer the work of Dave Mustaine. So glad they rock together again.
My god is amazing how james and rob are like the best musicians in metallica and kirk and lars are just okay, nevertheless they are the ones that people perceive as the best of metallica
I have always been of the opinion that Metallica should bring a couple of fans, lifelong fans into the studio and get their opinion about certain things.

that is super cool, im learning that song on guitar and i love that extra chug at the intro, had idea that Lars came up with it
Those little things make all the difference
Death Magnetic is criminally underrated
it's actually ridiculous how under the radar it went compared to hardwired
true, it's my 3rd favorite album and the one that introduced me to metallica
Agreed fellas.... I think that the sound of the album or the fact that the quality wasn’t so great, contributed to it being underrated. Because the riffs and songs were so badass lol. How can you not love those tracks?!?
@@joshualucas Underrated compared to other metallica albums.
1:07 to 1:14 Idk how the producer can sit there with a straight face with Lars doing that shit right in front of him LMAO
IKRRR

This Flying V is the same guitar he used in kill'em all! this is so awesome
I love watching these guys make albums. Shame there is not a lot of footage of them recording the loads.
Yeah! I love their behind the scenes and other rare moments too. So much fun! And seeing them having fun makes me happy.
Greetings from Germany!

I wanted to hear James solo
1:40 this guy stoped one of rarest and legendary moments
wish we got James Hetfield trying to record / write the Suicide & Redemption solo
@@Jeb4100 there is JH solo version on the internet. I even made cover of it 😁
@@Tommy712rus yeah, i consider that extended solo to be the best thing that Hetfield has ever put out

Also, totally not true.
@@JoshSingleTon2 totally true

Lol James lil Solo from 1:46 till 1:51
I love it :D
Lars making sure that Kirk doesn't let the notes in between fucking with him 😂
hahha, Lars try to teach Kirk how to play guitar xD
You see dude, it's Lars since the times when Mustaine played Sweet Home Alabama turned to Mechanix/Four Horsemen. That said, it's clear that Lars is so important to the Metallica rifferama.
Since Satch stopped doing that in the late 80's, someone had to do it.
:P
Well he does need to learn
one of the best albun of metallica!!!!
Yea.
When i play along with the album i do that.
James and Lars are the Metallica brain in my popinion but there all are the perfect team!!! after all James and Lars did the first Thrash song Hit the lights! =D
That little solo at 1:44 sounded really cool. Would have been even better if they kept it.
2:10
HOLY SHIT! Kirks left fingers are as fast as my right fingers
How the hell this was on my recommended 10 years later

Fire lars and get DAVE mustain back in. With Mustain you don't need a fucking drummer!
My god is amazing how james and rob are like the best musicians in metallica and kirk and lars are just okay, nevertheless they are the ones that people perceive as the best of metallica
I cringe every time Lars talks
Mustaine solo's are much better than this
