Lots of others are not the full version, so here it is. A clip from "Making of Magnetic" of the making of Metallica's legendary instrumental, Suicide & Redemption
BLEEDING ME is better than any song on the first 3 albums, but not better than ONE. that's just a fact, not my opinion. James likes it that much too. He said it always moves him.
FR THO!!! Every time I come back to listen to Metallica I'm always obsessed with that sick ass guitar lick. And funny enough they forgot they already used it cause they put it in Atlas Rise too, but with less umpf of that low note and faster. I like this one in Suicide & Redemption better.
Fade To Black, Welcome Home (sanitarium), One, The Unforgiven, The Outlaw Torn, The Unforgiven 2, The Unforgiven 3, Halo On Fire. Just a few examples of songs with great solos with feel and emotion. Some of these even have multiple. No Kill em All because those were Mustaine's solo's and were just super shreddy.
Sandra Wolfe sorry, but I don't really get you... It makes you cry because of the emotions, but are those bad? Not offending, my English isn't the very good
Le Scheers Music touches people in different ways. It's ok if you don't understand it. It doesn't have to be sad to make you cry. It could just be an amazing riff or melody. I personally cry every time I hear Fractured Mirror by Ace Frehley. Dimebag Darrell did a cover of it and that really pulls at my heart strings.
From 6:30 to 7:40 or so, where Rob is correcting key changes and bad notes because he wrote the part...such a technically sound player. Easily the most technically sound of any bass player the band has ever had.
No question about it. Rob played funk as mentioned previously and jazz a bit as well. He even played upright bass with nickel creek. As far as musical knowledge is concerned, Rob is fucking miiiiles ahead of them haha.
One of the best instrumentals I've heard in this genre of music in a long time, Suicide and Redemption is absolutely awesome. My personal fave however, as far as Metallica instrumentals go, is To Live is to Die..
Victor Sanchez yeah. I don't mean to sound like a thirteen year old, but James is real. Although he shops at Armani, he doesn't need expensive outfits, just expensive guitars.
I love the way Kirk shows up when the broad stroke of the song is done and goes super stoner like "This instrumental, like totally, intimidates me brah"
I've had this Death Magnetic since it was released and only really started listening to it now. Love this song. It picks up from where To Live is to Die left off.
Yeah man, long hair, long beard. Fuck, I feel like . . . if he grew 'those' back his hardcore headbanging from the 80's (or at least some of it XD) would come back.
It's just freaking hair. It has nothing to do with how kickass the music is. You're basically asking them to conform to a stereotype of metal that appeals only to the lowest common denominator. Doesn't matter how they want to do their hair or shave their face. They still write, produce, and play the best hard rock/heavy metal of all-time.
I absolutely love playing this on guitar! I have all but the last solo (the fast ones) figured out and even though I cant play them yet This is a blast! One of my favorites for sure!
The best song on this album, the second best is that was just your life, the feeling on this songs are real. Thank you Metallica, you make my day everytime that i hear you!
It looks so damn fun to make music. I would love just to be there and see them make the magic that they produce. But thats a dream of mine that would never happen :(
That is a goddamn masterpiece. Every time it comes back into that main riff is fucking magic. Ties it all back together. Musical genius. Lars isn’t the best technical drummer but he knows his shit in the studio. Plus he always has a great drum sound on the finished product.
Now they just need to play the damn song. We heard Call of Ktulu and Orion many times, but this one maybe 2-3 times, and don't get me started on To Live is To Die.
So they are recording the parts in that room with the mixing desk? I thought bands usually record the instruments in the main room where all the instruments are?
redplague totally depends on preference. This way seems more appropriate as they’re still writing the song so they can talk and communicate without affecting the recording or having to go in and out a room. As long as the amps are in the rooms and micd up you don’t need to be in the room too
could be the one of the best solo's ever Lars ? That's a 10/4 big rigger :) . amazing god given talent with the right team trying to help you :) . with love and respect clay
- Is the bass in right now?
-Yes
-Give me that back without the bass
lol throwback James.
If you have paid attention to Lars over the years, which is easier said then done, you would notice how much he likes Load.
211Appolo Load is a great album
can't blame him load is up there with their Masterpieces ( RTL and Master of Puppets ) .
@@maxotto9877 fuck your opinion.
@@nordimejia5790 the best songs on Load are as good as anything they ever did.

Arent we gonna talk about the best solo on the album? James' solo?
Sven Koehorst nah, the unforgiven III and the day that never comes, fights with that solo for the best solo of the album
6:03 underrated lick
FR THO!!! Every time I come back to listen to Metallica I'm always obsessed with that sick ass guitar lick. And funny enough they forgot they already used it cause they put it in Atlas Rise too, but with less umpf of that low note and faster. I like this one in Suicide & Redemption better.
"There's an emotion in it"
Lars pointing out the difference between a Kirk solo and a James solo

Lars, you are f*cking right! This song always gives me the chills running over my back man!
Right!?!?!?!? This song makes me cry because it has so much emotion to it, and I can relate to it.
Sandra Wolfe sorry, but I don't really get you... It makes you cry because of the emotions, but are those bad? Not offending, my English isn't the very good

3:21 lmfao. He's sober but I guarantee he's high. So funny
High as a kite
He smokes weed regurarly
It reminds me when Joe Rogan gets too high
Man it gives me chills when James plays that clean part around 9:02. Could just listen to him play all day haha
From 6:30 to 7:40 or so, where Rob is correcting key changes and bad notes because he wrote the part...such a technically sound player. Easily the most technically sound of any bass player the band has ever had.
the fact that he said "ur boys" ......... means he still doesnt feel part of the band
Robert Trujillo is the most talented and appropriate rock-funk bass musician of all the time imo

The melodic interlude/bridge, build-up and reprise is so damn emotional. At 10:08 It just sings without vocals! At 10:56 LARS YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT!
my favourite part of the song, its the redemption after the suicide
He still has the eet fuk guitar wow
awesome right!!!! shame he doesn't use it anymore
+he FOCKING left the band source?
+he FOCKING left the band that's the greatest name I've ever seen
+Termo VOLTAGE That better be in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame when he passes away.
it most likely will be in the rock n roll hall of fame
Rob probably knows more theory than the rest of the band combined
and James
Denis Gavrilov And when you know too much theory people call you a robot, you can't win.
Denis Gavrilov He played/plays funk which can be pretty technical
No question about it. Rob played funk as mentioned previously and jazz a bit as well. He even played upright bass with nickel creek. As far as musical knowledge is concerned, Rob is fucking miiiiles ahead of them haha.
Kirk probably knows a decent bit because he studied with Satch

Pinkfloyd6142 exactly
Suicide & Redemption has some good riffs, it's just overlong and doesn't really go anywhere

10:46 I love this comment from Lars. He’s so right.
one of the best songs of the album
Yes, the only instrumental in the album is also a song /s
9:54 most beautiful part on the track
he still has that eet fuk guitar , that's a relic
he still has almost every guitar hes ever had through out the years. i know for a fact his esp horizon was thrown away when he was burned on stage
looking at James, you wouldn't expect him to be a multi millionaire
He just chills man, like a regular person, he's a good guy not a fukn uptight millionaire bitch like most actors n shit
Victor Sanchez yeah. I don't mean to sound like a thirteen year old, but James is real. Although he shops at Armani, he doesn't need expensive outfits, just expensive guitars.
He probably would not care if he only made 20k a year. He's just that kind of guy.
Yeah, so true, he seems so humble and down-to-earth ! I wish I could meet him one day
As long as he has his fuel, fire and laughs, I bet he'll be okay
I like how Kirk always tries to come up with dumb deep shit but Lars and James just ignores him
I really doubt that he has much to offer otherwise he would shoved it in last couple decades.
James and Lars have always been the main songwriters, and its made them the greatest metal band ever, i don't really blame them for ignoring him lol
Hetfields clean riff behind the first little solo is beautiful
@@igortokarski9517 not in this version
I love the way Kirk shows up when the broad stroke of the song is done and goes super stoner like "This instrumental, like totally, intimidates me brah"
Seeing Lars and James totally in their element and vibing to the song at 4:35 is awesome
James's solo on this song is fucking criminally overlooked. One of the best Metallica solos ever.
'K2LU'
I see what you did there
shinglam szeto what did he do?
Ktulu
that tone in the beginning is actually really crunchy, i like it.
Man I love Rob, seems such a chill and knowledgeable dude
I love this song, so seeing the process behind how it came together is just bonus points for me. LONG LIVE METALLICA!!!
And this is how one of the best Metallica song was created. I love it!

Askel Sæbø fuk
Askel Sæbø I dont understand
Hola Amigo EET FUK written on James' old guitar ;)
well...for those who always take on Lars, he is a kickass songwriter.

Lars doesn't actually write anything.
James' lead sound is amazing, full of warmth and not to gainy, but full of sustain and deepness, so epic! (10:00)
That EET FUK guitar is magical lol
I've had this Death Magnetic since it was released and only really started listening to it now. Love this song. It picks up from where To Live is to Die left off.
I want James to grow that beard again, it was so heavy metal!
+Tony Thrash i want him to grow his mustache again like in the 90s
+anglersj024 that mustache was so mainstream, his best look is the long hair
Tony Thrash well everybody wants the hair back

There's a few songs with James' solos which blew my mind when I found out it was James,he is so totally awesome!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
If only James hadn't retired the Eet Fuk explorer. I think that guitar's awesome.

8:40 James gotta have his cereal XD

Top 3 Metallica song for me, after One and Orion
Anyone can tell me what are the settings for the clean part? The sound is very beautiful
This is the 2nd best instrumental song they've ever written. Behind Orion, but only just; and it's arguably more intricate.
Best song ever
i would give my life for a moment there
9:55 Holy shit... the legend returns.
its cool to see James used the EET FUCK guitar during the making of DM and HTSD !
@TheTwilightSagaSucks yeah, he was the sound engineer
Even James doesn't really know. He saw it quoted somewhere, and liked it because it was gritty and essentially swearing, kinda like rebelling.
@ 1:19 the next song title. "If Something Else Happened" can be a cross of "Nothing Else Matters" And "Unforgiven"
Now they just need to play the damn song. We heard Call of Ktulu and Orion many times, but this one maybe 2-3 times, and don't get me started on To Live is To Die.
