Yes It is always possible Sharing my story as well I am Dr Mike, and I was an international student from India. After my senior year at High school I gave the JEE (Indian students will understand) and enrolled in chemical engineering at IIT Delhi. Later on after first year, I realised that my heart was somewhere else. Those days at an engineering school were the hardest and most stressful years of my life. I came from a low income family (Total family income of dad and mom was around 35000 USD) and for most Indians no matter what JEE and NEET(a medical entrance test in India) was a blind dream. As you all know Asian parents do not care what the child wants but thankfully my mom was different. I convinced my parents to take a drop year after my second year- they agreed and I began looking for options! Then I heard about the US medical system from my friends. I had varied interest- I was passionate about mathematics and Politics. So I ended up attending the College of Wooster, with majors in Political Science and Psychology and yes a Minors in Mathematics and a Pre medicine path. I graduated, and took a job as a Mathematical Analyst for a political firm. I was never satisfied so during this time I began preparing for the MCAT and thankfully I cleared it in the first go. I am thankfully to have secured a position in Cornell's Weil School of medicine. Yes, I did not get good funding and ended up taking enormous loans clubbed with that of my undergraduate years. Ah well, things ended up well and now I am a Oncologist at a nice hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana ! So trust me. There are many students (international) who have cleared it off. Why cannot you! Always strive to do your best and you will get it! Work hard- build your resume
Hi @Dr. Mike Ankush Ahuja, i am from india as well, i have a similar story like you, I graduated from school in 2020 and cleared neet, and went to King George medical university, Lucknow. But then I realised i would never make it to a top residency program in USA with my qualifications. So i gave sat and got into brown, caltech was waitlisted at Cornell and princeton, but then the financial aid was not sufficient so I couldn’t go there, and found university of Cincinnati, OH which was giving me max scholarship and I have joined the bachelors in biomedical engineering program with a pre medicine pathway and co-ops. I aspire to be a neurosurgeon one day, however looking at the statistics for international students it seems really daunting. But I am incredibly motivated after learning your story. Would you mind connecting with me over email if possible? I find your story to be very inspiring and one-of-a-kind
I'm from Nigeria actually, but yeesh Medical school is super expensive in the US, I got into Howard for BS/MD but ended up going to AUSOM In Curacao since it was a cheaper option. After 2 years in Curacao, I'll be going for my clinical rotation years in the US. It's a dream come true( and I never got an undergrad degree first ). I don't mind sharing how I got in, if this inspires someone to check out MD at AUSOM in Curacao 😊
I have a Bsc in microbiology, really want to get into medschool abroad, please can you make a video on studying for mcat, scholarship or grants available and how to go about the process in general. Thanks

Hello, can an international student transfer to the US to pursue the medical curriculum (after already finished the undergraduate and pre-med in a NON-AMERICAN institutions) ?
I’m not sure about that one. You may have to speak to an academic counselor at a school of your choosing. I’ll ask around on my end too and get back to you with what I find. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for stopping by!
@@Propella Thank you very much. Yes I have completed all the prerequisites for the med school, but in a non American school, so I need to know about all the process and what to do in order to complete my studies in the US. I appreciate your help.
Her response: I'm sure it's possible, but a lot more difficult. The US schools like to see a US touch, whether in education, volunteering, shadowing. It wouldn't be a transfer, it would be a direct application to medical school. They'd also need to take and ACE the MCAT, have their transcript evaluated and translated to the US system, possibly take TOEFL if required by the medical school and apply targeted: meaning only apply to schools that have a history of accepting international students...

@@uchechionyeonoru4221The truth here is that, sometimes, you just need to do your research on google.
Please can I use a bachelor's degree in nursing in Cameroon to apply for medical school in USA?
Please I want to know how you paid for st George Med sch? Are you given loan grants as an international student@ Priase?

Can I use a pharmacy Technician Nigerian Certificate to get into Med School in the USA?
Don’t quote me, but I don’t think so. Maybe look for international students who have a similar background and see what they say. Best of luck!!
