Thank you so much for this ❤️I got accepted at UCT in the faculty of Engineering & the built environment which was my sec choice, so I wasn't accepted for my first choice which was MBCHB...so i was wondering whether will I be able to pursue the degree I got accepted for then transfer/switch to MBCHB?
@@Nomzamo_MS You re-apply into medicine, but this time around you include your results from the degree you were studying. Your results from the degree have to be outstanding so that you stand a greater chance of being accepted.
Thank you for this! ❤ If I may ask, were you accepted straight after high school or did you first study something else? And what was your grade 11 average? I am matric this year and I want to study medicine next year, but I am stressed that my gr11 marks are not high enough...
Hi there, I was accepted straight from high school, my grade 11 average was somewhere in the lower 80s . I got a provisional offer to get into medicine from my grade 11 results. If you are able to get a provisional offer from your grade 11 results, if you maintain your marks or get higher than that in your grade 12 finals then chances of getting accepted are high. If your grade 11 results are not able to score you a provisional offer yet, don’t give up, if you get really good marks in matric chances of getting accepted are also high. I hope that helps ❤️
Can you please give us an idea of what the cut off average is for medicine? Do students who get between 85%- 90% as an overall average stand a chance or is the cut off 90% overall average and above?
There’s no cutoff average, there’s a number of factors considered before accepting a student . your high school marks, your score in the NBT are very important in deciding whether you get accepted or not
Hey zama im in matric currently and i get accepted at UCT for Bsc and My first option was MBCHB Which I got rejected for . Is it possible for me to do BSC next year and then transfer to MBCHB the following year after that ..😢I’m even thinking of repeating next year cause my results are not as I hoped
Hey ❤️It is possible to transfer from BSC to medicine. It’ll take a lot of hard work from you. All the information is on the uct handbook, it’ll help you to make the best informed decision for yourself, all the best ❤️
Yes you do apply with grade 12 results but grade 11 results are compulsory as well for a provisional offer, your final grade 12 results determine your final acceptance or rejection
BP- Becoming a Professional (taught In first year first semester) . And BHP (just lie BP, but called Becoming a Health Professional) taught in second semester. These are one of the easiest courses in medschool. No one fails these
It has some advantage which is negligible, the most contributing factors are your academics and it won't be a problem if you didn't do any sports in high school.
Miss greetings. May I ask whether the MBChB program accept international students with a PhD degree from social science background without any experience in relation to mathematics, physics, and chemistry to apply for admission? If so what are the process or requirements for international students with a PhD degree to apply for the bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery at UCT? Thanks so much.
Wow ❤ .... thanks you dear for sharing this information...
It’s a pleasure 🫶🏽

Hey Zamo, I have friends who were able to switch from other Engineering degrees, so it is very much possible.
@@PhemeloMalatji I'd like to know more about the process of transferring to medicine from degrees in Engineering.

Is it possible to switch from Bachelor of Social science to medicine?
I’m not quite sure, you can get the full information from the UCT handbooks
Hi Nsuku, would you mind making contact? I'm also trying to apply to med.

can i switch from bachelor of medicine or nursing or environmental science to mbchb?
Sure you can, as long as you meet the requirements
Im doing MBCHB first yr at another SA institution, im applying for mbchb at uct , if i pass here , how are chances of me being transferred to 2nd yr
I’m not quite sure, it depends on the modules you have done if they correlate to uct
Hi, Is it possible to apply to the MBCHB program solely with Grade 12 Team 1 results, without including Grade 11 results?
Hi grade 11 term 4 results are required and a necessity when applying
Hi does uct accept international students for medince courses
Yes it does
Hi can you get into medical school with adult matric
@@Anele-12 what’s adult matric ?
@ it’s an old version of Matric called Senior certificate
hey, if I am rewriting my matric do I still apply with my final grade 11 results or my final grade 12 results(of the previous year)?
Hey, since you'll be restarting your application process, you'll need to upload your grade 11 results and recent matric results
Can you still apply for Mbchb to UCT with only grade 12 report marks if your grade 11 isn't that good for that course.
Yes you do apply with grade 12 results but grade 11 results are compulsory as well for a provisional offer, your final grade 12 results determine your final acceptance or rejection

Unfortunately what I know is that the faculty doesn’t accept international students unless they have a citizenship
