- My first ride impressions of the Pedaling Innovations pedals. I wanted to give a longer term ride impression but I ended up with an injury and the flu so I will be off the bike for the short term. This is my third time using the pedals, but really the first time on a longer single track with some technical terrain.
Overall, if you don't want to watch the video
More Power
More Stability
Less foot fatigue
I required less foot adjustment when moving from seated, to standing to jumping position
Location - Scottsdale Arizona - Mcodwell Mountain - Long loop
Bike - Santa Cruz Tall Boy rented from Arizona outback adventures

Those pedals are rad!
Absolutely !!!
Loved these pedals, I can't wait to get in another ride with them. Such a small part on the bike but plays such an important role.
Great video! Thank You Sir....I have two pair of the Red Catalyst Pedals arriving on Monday. One for my Vitus Escarpe MTB and the other for my Fat Tire bike. Looking forward to tearing up the trails with them. :)
Enjoy them. I haven't looked back and can't use anything else now. Comfortable and stable. :)
Thanks for the review as a heavy Clyde rider with strong legs! I too am a Clyde and looking into these pedals. My concern as a heavy rider is the step-down axle they use and the plastic bushing they use, as well as only two small bearings. Now in 2019, over two years from this video, any long term feedback on the durability under heavy Clyde loads? Also, try ELECTRIC MTB's! they will revolutionize your ability to climb, keep up with lighter. faster riders, and tackle longer trails.
Great questions. The simplest answer is to explain I now have 3 sets. One on my djer, my spin bike and my new enduro bike. I had to do some maintenance to the first pair but the kit and replacement were quite simple. To this day, I still recommend them to anyone who asks. Great Pedal, sturdy and has been a real asset to my riding with no negatives to speak to.
I am considering an ebike, maybe for next year. So far I am really still a lone wolf since I climb so slowly. :) Ebike might be able to level that field a bit.
@@clydesdalemountainbiking7393 Yep, gravity is the enemy of a Clyde going uphill! Sam Colt made all men equal (Colt revolver), eMTB makes us Clydes a bit more equal to our lesser gravity challenged riders. It may indeed put you back in the pack instead of the guy everyone waits for on a climb.
What shoes were you riding with ?
Traditionally I use standard skate shoes with hard soles. However for the first time I have been able to get 510s. So I now ride those.
