Fun facts: This is not only the first time we see Ghostfreak actually fight, but it's also the first time that the actual **blow** of the attack is not censored at all. So far, they've had a flash or a pull-away. It ***really*** adds to the creepy factor of the episode. Makes things feel a lot more serious.
I watched this show so long ago that I forgot how good it actually was or maybe I never even realized its greatness in the first place. I just took a look at the imdb descriptions of every single episode of ben 10 from the original series to omniverse. And I must say, the original series(one we're watching right now) actually seems to have the most number of iconic and consistently good episodes. It also seems to have really good pacing.
To be fair, the original Ben 10 had so many more reruns than anything that came after it. I'm pretty sure Omniverse had some episodes that only aired a few times since the network was actively sabotaging the series at that point.
I've always interpreted Zombozo blowing up at the end as him literally dying of fright but they couldn't show him dying in a realistic manner since this show is aimed at kids. And rewatching this episode after having seen the whole series, the hints as to Ghostfreak's true nature are definitely there, can't wait for when they get to that arc.
With that in mind... how did Zombozo actually... Survive this. Because he does appear in later episodes. Was he, like, revived or something? There wasn't really anything left of him aside from some confetti... Which just confirms that Ben murdered someone at 10 years old.

This is one of my favourite episodes from the original show! I remember watching this as a kid and absolutely enjoying Zombozo in this as well as the whole circus theme. It’s very creepy & I can see why some people are generally scared of clowns but overall it’s a really great episode.
1:01 it's funny that they mentioned it cause I remember to have watched a tv commercial as a kid when this was on air on which we see Ben trying to transform on the rain, then inside the watch the 10 aliens were hanging out, discussing about who should take the call and of course it was heatblast
Loved so much how this planted /that/ certain seed for ghostfreak in the storyline, obviously back then as a kid, it's nothing that you pay much attention to but damn seeing it now hits better 🔥

This episode made ghostfreak my favorite alien when I was a kid His design is top tier and that power that it’s so scary that we (the audience) can’t even see is so awesome
I wonder if the Freaks were inspired by The Enforcers. They were a gang that was used fairly early on in the Spidey comics and consisted of Ox (big strong guy), Montana (good with a lasso), and Fancy Dan (agile)and worked for the Big Man. The female member is definitely a nod to Medusa from the Inhumans.
This episode is still of my favorite from this show, especially since it focuses on Ben's fear of clowns and how he overcomes it. Also, you guys probably didn't notice this, but before Ghostfreak reverts back to Ben, he says the following right after Zombozo explodes and vanishes: "Woah! That kind of even freaked me out!" This is another hint that there is more to Ghostfreak than just being one of Ben's aliens.
This episode helped solidify Ghostfreak as one of the best aliens and, more importantly, one of the scariest. And my point keeps getting emphasized the more you keep watching the show.

Ah, so this is the episode that introduced Rip Jaw's major limitation. While he is technically amphibious, it is a limited form, with him running out of oxygen fairly quickly and dehydrating even faster. Can we appreciate Ben's control of the Ripjaws form? Those teeth can tear through steel, the whip cord arms are strong enough to throw an anchor and chain like a grappling hook, the claws can also rip metal apart, and it's deceptively fast on top of deceptively strong. Fun little theory due to the way the Omnitrix works in the future sequels. There was a rumour that when the Omnitrix crash landed it was slightly damaged and so that’s why the Omnitrix symbol when Ben transforms was white coz it was in Maintenance mode. However later on in the sequels it’s green and works better after the thing that happens at the beginning of Alien force. So it’s not a 100% theory but it’s definitely something that kinda made sense in its own way

Right on the month! Bring on the clowns and Ghostfreak show!
The Ghostfreak in this episode is the best part
11:30 you are not the only one who thinks this Aaron
This was my favorite episode when I was a kid. So satisfying that Ben faced his fears 😌
When I saw this episode as a child, I thought that the Freacks and Zomboso were mutants, or at least genuine freaks with powers.
Really hope you guys watch Alien force after this
Whenever Ben isn’t able to change into what he wants to I always thought it was him accidentally turning the dial slightly when he slams the watch face down
I think this was my favorite episode back in the day.
The most common theory I’ve seen about Zombozo is that he’s a Lych, which makes sense to me
Does anyone remember the live action Ben ten movie race against time? That movie felt like a trip 😂
Ah Ghostfreak, surely nothing bad could ever come as a result of this
Ghost freak has always been my favourite
“That even freaked ME out.”
Remember this line, Fellas!
You can’t convince me this is just some kids show. Ben 10 has some mature and scary stuff in it.
Thumbskull was missing all his finger tips.
This is definitely one of the best episodes.
John Kassir is always great at bringing lots of thrills and chills, and both the Crypt Keeper and Zombozo are great examples. Also I still love that Cree Summer voiced Frightwig in the original series!!
Such a great episode
Ah, the Circus Freaks. One of the first jobbers on Ben 10 villain history. even Rojo puts up more of a fight than these guys
Wish they uploaded these more often, it’s gonna take 4 years to get through the whole story at 1 episode a week
I can't wait till we get to alien force(if they do it). It's the peak of the series for me atleast but i'm sad at how long that's not gonna take them to get to.
here in brazil this episode brought nightmares to some children, love the reaction.
I love ghostfreak. You guys will love upcoming stories. This is all i can day without spoilers
11:32 "This is a great thing to be all the time!"
Hehehehehe
it’s nice to hear you guys acknowledge if you had watched this as a kid it would’ve scared you cause i had a nightmare as a kid because of this episode haha
Can’t wait for them to see what’s inside Ghostfreak
This was one of my favorite episodes as a kid. Zombozo was freaky and I loved that Ghostfreak got to show off his true power. Yeah not everything in the show is alien there (Potential SPOILERS)
mutants, sci-fi, tech/robots , & magic
Perfect episode for Halloween Month
Fun little theory due to the way the Omnitrix works in the future sequels. There was a rumour that when the Omnitrix crash landed it was slightly damaged and so that’s why the Omnitrix symbol when Ben transforms was white coz it was in Maintenance mode. However later on in the sequels it’s green and works better after the thing that happens at the beginning of Alien force. So it’s not a 100% theory but it’s definitely something that kinda made sense in its own way
the fact that i remember this scaring me as a child excites me as an adult
Eric: "he's fucking pennywise"
Aaron: "he's doing what?!" 😂😂
2:19, Pisciss Volanns (Ripjaws' Species) Are Weak To Fire Due To Their Dependency On Water, It's For That Reason They're Pretty Much Useless On Dry Land Without Specialized Equipment
3:19, It's Called Coulrophobia
4:11, Meet Zombozo
12:03, Unfortunately, This Is Not The Last We See Of Zombozo. And Ghostfreak's Line "That Frightened Even Me" Has More Meaning Than You Think! Beware The Episode "Ghostfreaked Out"!
Remember this episode with Ghostfreak for later, not everything is alien just a majority is related to aliens
