So if you wanted add horn would you need brown wire too what about boot then 2 relays are need or not ?
Still kind of hard to understand cause you was out the camera frame when you was demostratin the negative and positive lock wires
Hey I bought a avital 3100lx with a 451M relay and universal door locks I am still a little unsure about a couple things and would like further clarification.
(White/Blk & brown/Blk = ground)
(Green/Blk & blue/Blk = lock/unlock)
(Violet/Blk = +12V )
Am I correct or mile off? Thanks 😊
I’ve an avital 2101L as a stand alone. Is it possible to add a switch?
Id like to say this is the only video that comes close to explaining how to install these viper units. I have managed to follow and I can now open and close the door actuators with the key fob, so I am assuming the relays are wired correctly, but what I cant work out is how to get the drivers door (key) to open all doors (like the key fob), I assume I am missing signaling on a wire to the viper somewhere?

Do I need a relay at the brain even if the locks already have relays behind the door panels?

I have an 08 pathfinder. I'm trying to wire in my remote starter. My car has negative door locks. The door lock switch has a one wire communication line that goes to the bcm and the bcm reverses polarity. Can I wire in a 5 wire relay straight to the driver door lock actuator to reverse polarity. And will it affect the operation of the bcm?

Great video and very clear! I have a VIPER 211HV which is pretty similar and I'd like to be able to lock all the doors from the drivers door (as well as the remote fob). I have a MES Five wire actuator in the driver door and a MES Two wire in the passenger. Please can you point me in the right direction of how to wire this up - and indeed if it's possible. Thank you

You sure can, just add it in parallel to the blue and green door lock outputs.

Hey very informative video. Keep up the good work. I just bought the 451M Door Lock Relay and Avital 3100LX 3-Channel Keyless Entry Car Alarm. I'm going to be wiring it in my Brand new Jeep Wrangler that came with Manual Locks. I also bought the POWER Door Actuators from a Factory model with Power Locks. I'm still unsure how the Door Locking Actuators are wired if its one wire or multiple etc. So I'll be using some of your advice. Thank you. Hope its easy LOL
Use the add actuator schematic, if you need anything else just shoot me over a message, I love to help people.

I was wondering if the same system may be used for a "one-button" lock/unlock mechanism, wherein you only use ONE relay for both functionalities. If so, What should the polarity be set to?
Even in a 1 button kit you'd still need 2 relays
You can't use only 1 relay.
Because as if you choose NC to lock and NO to unlock. There should be continuous power drawn by the relay by the NC terminal.

Does this apply to the Viper 5900 ? I've been trying to get my door locks working in my 96 chev k1500 on and off for years haha and have yet to figure out how..

I have 1992 chevy c1500 and after watching your video I still can't figure out how to wire the door locks auto remote start I have a ds18start. Anybody help

Hopefully you read this long story short my alarm has been sitting in my car for 7 years and the car has not been turned on .. now my doors are shaved and have no handles.. Now my poppers don’t work now only one does and it’s not the driver side.. I changed the relays and the door still doesn’t work.. so I got a tester light again bcuz the poppers are connected all together threw the brain of the alarm.. so my tester light I tested the the wires coming from the Brain and 1 of the 2 wires that have the fuse blocks on the wire doesn’t light my tester up.. so that’s telling me it’s dead and the fuse isn’t busted… so I’m not know what to do, I heard from diff people online that the alarm might just be done so replace it. I don’t have money to be doing that.. I was wandering if I should pop open the housing unit and see if within itself if a cap busted or something… The alarm still works in the sense that when I press the alarm it chirps, when I pop open the passenger door with that alarm key it works.. now I have 4 relays , 2 for the fronts and 2 for the backs . U can hear one door trying to pop just not enough force and the other nothing so… I’m not to worried bout those.. so any help or thoughts I’ve written a few people but nobody has attempted to write back .. so hopefully you read this even though this vid is old…. Thxs

@@Lesscoelectronics for real I really appreciate that. I do have a lot of different questions regarding installation on things I’ve seen your videos and pretty clear instructions if you will .. I use to do all that stuff but when it was in the 90’s and I kinda forgot something’s and certain things I remember now it’s like there’s either better ways or don’t do it that way bcuz of dangerous things I guess.. Anyways I would like to ask if you don’t mind.. I don’t have a number and I don’t think u want to many people possibly reading this and bugging you.. maybe said your email or a email your not really gonna use and then from there your number .. or however… I would like to start a business doing custom things and now since I’ve been back in it full time since unfortunately I lost my job I’m trying to soak up everything I can before I get hired somewhere else. Or unless I can find a job that dwells into this world.. threw out this year I’ve been hitting it alot harder and threw out the past years I’ve kept a foot in . I bought a 1990 Lincoln and everything other then the new upholstery, paint and hydraulics I’ve been doing myself, the mechanics work , some fabrication and upholstery, the audio and newly learning how to set up an alarm looks easy .. it’s just unfortunate the question I had is all pertaining to my other vehicle that 1 to many people worked on. I just pulled everything and started from scratch… I’ll just tell u a lot more later …
