After spending 5 hours screwing around and trying this, I finally worked it out. 2001 2500 ram, sounds like it’s the same as yours. It is the orange/violet and pink/violet wires. The others work but not ideal as they are weak. Doesn’t seem right. If you want to do them again, you need to cut the wires above, then wire the 4 wires to 2 - 5 pin solenoids. (Search 5 wire, type c) config. Basically, if you cut one wire, giving the other wire 12v will work and vice Versa. Hope this helps. It was a pain in the b.
Gary Whiddon I couldn't find a good explanation online myself, so I'm glad it helped you out! I'm also glad to know it's the same set up for other dodge models!
did you get the remotes to work for lock and unlocking the doors? and if so did you have key fobs already for the durango? before you installed the remote starter? thanks
Please be sure not to confuse the two types of relays: Most have ONE 87 output (connected with 30 while relay is engaged) and a 87a output (connected with 30 while relay is NOT engaged). Few have TWO 87 outputs. And some have ONE 87 ouput but no 87a output.
Handy-Mann when you cut the Orange/Black and the Pink/Black door lock/unlock wires you did not mention which side of the cut wires the #87 outputs from relay should be connected to, I would assume it makes a difference. Also what did you do with other end of the cut wires? Does anything get connected to them or did you just cap them? Thanks for your help with this question. Hopefully you check your channel often and answer viewer questions. ps If anyone knows the answer to my questions I would really appreciate your reply, Thanks.
@@ThaIrishman how do i go about it? Im pretty sure most keyless kick out pos or neg right? So if the locks rest at neg and pos. Signal throws the switch thats a type a or c lock system?
I have a 09 Mazda 6 it has the lock, unlock button but not the keyless fob. I took it like 3 years ago to have a viper 5706v installed and recently I checked under and they didn’t put relays for the doors. That is probably why it doesn’t unlock after being parked for a long time. I was wondering if the wiring is the same or different?
Question so I own a 2005 Dodge Ram and the power door locks and windows only work when key is turned to on how can I change that to working even when key is turned to off
Search through the rest of my videos and I have a much longer version of this video where I go through the remote start installation and the receiver installation
Did you ever make a video with the vehicle already had keyless entry ? cause mine has a key fob for the lock and not sure what i'm to conect to for this restarter compstar for in the 2000 Dodge ram 2500 ?
suzuki rider unfortunately I don't have a video for one that already has a keyless entry, however if it's a factory keyless entry then go to bulldogsecurity.com and find you year and if should have a wiring diagram for a factory keyless entry. If it's an aftermarket keyless entry, you'll need to find the aftermarket unit that was added to your truck, and figure out which wires from that unit lock and unlock your truck, then you can just wire in your lock and unlock wires from your new unit into the wires from your old unit (after they've been cut)
the truck came with this remote for unlock and lock and not sure what wire to tap into and can't understand the diragram from them so I'm lost LOL it's a 2000 Dodge ram 2500 5.9L auto and I got the remote starter to start the truck but not to lock and unlock I did something right
Why didn't you just do it the way bulldog suggested? I have a 2001 Caravan. It has a 1-wire system. So I have to use 2 resisters. Which are hard to find since Radio Shack closed. I may just install an actuator for the driver's door and hook it up to my cheap ebay door lock system.
You make the video too complicated just send me a copy of that schematic you have for a keyless entry and I can understand that paper easer than your way of explaining it
Your using the wrong relay my man. You need the relays with the 87 AND 87a contacts (not 2 87’s) other wise your probably just gunna throw a dead short on

Good video thanks for sharing 👍
To improve the speed make sure you use heavy wire direct from battery + ,fused of course otherwise thanks.
Hello sir can I use this if I want to install keyless entry module?
What do you do on a Dakota when there is only 1 wire that controls lock and unlock?

he screwed this up big time lol, this is NOT how to do keyless on these trucks

th-cam.com/video/PqYRdxQf8Bs/w-d-xo.html or wired like this video shows. The one he is showing is the same alarm I have in my car.
Hi, I follow your diagram accordingly but it only able to negative trigger unless the 87a connect to ground? It this correct n safe?

It’s kinda dog annoying having to reach across
Annoying
My starter fuse keeps blowing when I connect the 12v constant. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, I’ve checked and double checked the schematics
Did you buy the truck new? Maybe it had remotes before and they got lost. That's what happened to my van.
If this is an aftermarket keyless entry, where is the receiver for the fob? What am I missing?

did you post any video's by any chance?
You wanna come over and get the old electric tape off for me? Hahahaha
Haha it's not the tape that's a nightmare, it's the wires that are next to the door that were the hardest to work with. Best of luck though!
Never use wire nuts in any automotive appliance ever
