    Got fit 3 weeks ago by Larry for irons and a putter. Can't wait for the irons to show up, and putter has been amazing so far! Thanks for all the good work and couldn't be happier so far with my second swing experience!

    With Larry's guidance and input, this was a fun and informative fitting to follow.
    Good luck Josh. Hopefully there will be a follow up to see how the new clubs and
    slight changes have worked out. Hit'em straight.

    Went to Moongolf in Florida to get fit for irons. Luckily, I knew enough about the process to make a wise decision on how to best choose my proper clubs, despite the poor fitting I experienced. Not all fitters are created equally.

    As a beginner, this process looks a bit intimidating. Can a beginner, who is inconsistent, go through a fitting like this? I know Thomas said a while back it is possible starting with standard measurements. But, I wonder if it would work. Larry's process is thorough, looks very beneficial and fun! Great video.

    Good video. Curious about the driver shaft flex. He has swing speed (104) that would normally indicate stiff flex. Was the regular flex due to his swing having a smoother transition?

    • @ltoyota
      @ltoyota ปีที่แล้ว

      I was wondering the same thing. Could be the smooth transition or his low attack angle.

  • @PetSKi67

    How the spin is so low? Boggles my head, shouldn’t a 7 spin between 65 and 72~hundred?

  • @timt8365
    @timt8365 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    why wouldn't you try a regular flex shaft for this player?

    • @nickrogers6441
      @nickrogers6441 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This kid will only get faster as he plays more. Stiff shafts will allow him keep playing the same clubs longer.

    • @danielcohen3159
      @danielcohen3159 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought about that, too. But that Nippon 105 stiff plays a bit softer than some shafts, also.

    • @TheWildwoodPicker
      @TheWildwoodPicker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same thing... I'm no pro, but at least I know enough that for his swing speed he should probably be better suited for a Regular Flex, not a Stiff Flex!

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course! Based on what you've said, it sounds like you could use some extra spin. The Titleist T100 and Mizuno JPX 921 and/or Mizuno MP-20 MMC are a couple of players cavity irons that will spin a bit more than the Z785 you're currently playing. A few options there for you to try out

  • @mattwilliams3104
    @mattwilliams3104 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I’m very confused about Larry wanting him to shallow out his attack angle on the longer irons. Shallow angle of attack spins the ball less, which flies the ball lower. Less spin with less height is a nightmare for stopping the ball on the greens. PGA tour angle of attack for a 5 iron is about -3.7. Some of his landing angles were in the 30s when ideal is at least 44.

    • @russellmagsanide
      @russellmagsanide 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I didn’t like how in the middle of the fitting with the 5 iron it became a lesson with becoming more shallow, rather than fitting the club to the golfer.

      His club speed is pretty slow and his setup is not very consistent. Swallowing his attack is going to give him more consistent shots. If he was on real turf his ball path wouldve been way more erratic.

    • @gjoniny
      @gjoniny 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      LARRY is trying to say he's coming over the top at a steep angle with his 5 iron. I had the same problem because I played a lot of baseball and shoulders would move first. After a lesson and shallowing out my 5 iron I hit it pure now and loving it

    • @BensonBros22
      @BensonBros22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because he’s coming over the top. Just because you’re getting fit for clubs doesn’t mean you should not improve your swing

    Why does it say the 5 iron is a modus 105 stiff shaft? It’s a KBS 80g stock shaft in it as you can see when he is taking the plastic off the head? Those two shafts will play very differently.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. My guess is that was the shaft available for the SIM2 irons and it wasn't noticed by our editing crew. Larry was fitting with our in stock clubs and not the fitting components and was providing options that were available for the customer to walk out the door with on the day. - Thomas

    • @TheWildwoodPicker
      @TheWildwoodPicker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because in My Opinion this is not how a fitting should look like to me; it looked like a bunch of guess work to me. It was obvious; that once he dialed him into the 'Game Improvement Taylor Made Irons" that he was trying to push him towards those clubs. What he should of done was compared the Taylor Made Sims with the Callaway Game Improvement Clubs, I think they were Maverick at the time... Callaway Apex Irons are not Game Improvement Clubs! That is just my 2 cents worth of opinion and how I saw this video!

    I'm sorry and I'm sure some people are going to say I'm being negative, but so far from what I'm seeing between 2nd Swing Golf Full Bag Fitting and a Club Champion Full Bag fitting... Club Champion is 1000x better than 2nd Swing Golf on fittings by far!!! There is no comparison! I also went to a Golf Galaxy for a fitting... what a waste of $105.00 that was. Sure it might be a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for! To me, this is all a bunch of guess work from what I'm seeing in this video!

    • @therileyobrien
      @therileyobrien 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe not negative but most certainly obtuse. This video is by no means a standard fitting. They were basically comparing in stock clubs during a supply shortage.
