because their beauty makes me unable to use them and I have to put them on the shelf to look at sometimes
but the knives I buy from other people I very comfortable to use.

I get your point. A used knife however will always bring me more satisfaction to look at. The patina it develops is proof that someone has use for it and therefore might appreciate it. The use and abuse we give our tools give them purpose and therefore meaning. The amount of care we show them afterwards in keeping them sharp and clean, is where the beauty lies to me.

That is natural human phenomena. I ve lots of knives but I use my Gerber fast draw for every EDC task. I never want to use my costlier and beautiful knives.
