So so true. The price of the deposits for the cups are now up to €5 that’s crazy. Compared to markets in the states the prices are more affordable but it is a little out of hand.
If you were to go to a fair, or carnival in the United States that 1/2 meter sausage would easily cost a minimum of 12 dollars or more, and yeah... The soup would cost probably $15, honestly.... rather than 9 Euro. In an American's perspective a lot of things tend to be cheaper in Europe, at least outside of London and Paris. You should see a video of $50 at an American fair, or carnival and see what you can get... I went to a concert in Seattle and an 8 ounce pour of beer was around $10 dollars. I went to a Fourth of July festival and a can of beer 12 ounce (355 ml) was $8... A full liter of beer from the barrel was around 15 Euro ($15.76) at the Oktoberfest this year. So around 2.2 cents per ml at an medium size city fourth of July party in America, compared to 1.57 cents per ml at the Oktoberfest the biggest Volksfest in the world.
Germany still feels like one of the few places holding onto a genuine Christmas atmosphere. I remember when it was everywhere, and now I wonder when that warmth began to fade.
True! The markets hit different here! We are posting Berlin now but just filmed Nuremberg and are filming Munich tomorrow! Vibes are high and this is an all time bucket list trip for us. We are doing $50 in Prague, Riga and Tallin too! Interested to see what they all have to offer🥳🙌🎄
That’s so cool! We have not been to Puerto Rico yet! We live in San Diego so it’s quite a haul over there. Are there any fun Christmas market type things this time of year that you would recommend?
So excited you guys are doing the German Christmas Markets. So much yummy food! The soup in bread bowl looked amazing!! Looking forward to Munich and Nurnberg videos. My favorite Christmas Market cities. Living vicariously through you guys this year!
Thanks so much❤️ we filmed Nuremberg yesterday and are doing Munich tomorrow 😮💨. Berlin had a really cool vibe though it will be tough to beat. We are going to be made of sugar, cheese and hot wine after this trip😂

Amazing! We had been to Frankfurt only before this trip. Berlin is such a unique German city, you’re gonna have a blast. Schildkröte was our favorite meal if you can get a reservation, they didn’t speak any English but it’s a really cool old restaurant
It really was magical, we were blown away by it all! Berlin is such a great city. An underrated and less crowded German city for Christmas markets for sure.

Grog is a sailor's drink. The rum kills bacteria in stagnant water. At Christmas markets it is a warming alternative for people who don't like sweet alcoholic drinks. Gouda is usually never smoked, the smoky flavor comes from the smoked ham pieces.
Thanks so much for the info! It was such a delicious cheesy snack. Somebody mentioned the grog can also come with sugar, I think I’ll try it like this next time. Thanks so much for watching g!
try and have a day out in saschenhausen if you can. only a hour away on a train from berlin and it is such a nice town with a decent museum that was a old concentration camp. its a bit eerie to walk around there but worth a visit. also try and book some free walks, you pay like 5 euro and they last a hour and take you round all the big sites.
I’ve never laughed so much at one of your videos! Brandon was really striking out with beverages 🤣 We’re heading to Munich in a few weeks, I hope we have as much fun there as you did in Berlin! Cheers!
Amazing! We are there right now! Heading out to film one of the markets today! Munich is huge so it’s tough to pick one to eat at. Have the best time, make sure to comment after you go and let us know your favorite parts!
Oh this is such a fun video and I was glad when you admitted that there were some things you didn't care for like the "Pirate Water". Ha Ha! I lived and worked in Germany from 1976 through 1979 and while I was there I only went to the Christmas Market in Nuremberg. Your video really makes me want to return so I could see more of these amazing markets. I think I'd do like you and try as many foods as my stomach would allow! Thanks for this great video!
We’re so glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for sharing your memories of Germany, it’s truly a special country and we’d love to see more of it too! Next video we visit the Nuremberg market so be sure to check that one out. Please let us know after we post all the things that have changed since you last visited! Alyssa and I always say we were born 20 years too late so we would’ve rather had this experience in 79!
I’d love to be there 😋 making me peckish and I’m not hungry they certainly know how to do a Christmas market.. amazing and Santa in the air fantastic, got to have fried onions with the hot dog :)
Thanks so much! This comment means the world to us. We have so many more awesome markets to hit this year. Nuremburg is next and then Munich! Hopefully you will join us to bring in the holiday season!❤️🎄
I understand what you mean. But typical you eat them without any extra dip. It's only the quarkbällchen with powdersugger❤. For me that's sweet enough😂
great video. i went to berlin about 6 years ago over new years eve and have never been as cold in my life (and im from england). the germans know how to do a christmas market though, packed with people and the prices although a little high werent that unreasonable when i went. if you are still in berlin try to go to a place called saschenhausen, it is a small town about half a hour away from berlin that has a great museum there which used to be a concentration camp. its fairly harrowing but to just be able to walk around somewhere like that is a bit eerie and definatly worth a visit.
Incredible! Thanks so much for the recommendation, we actually already were in Nuremberg and Munich as we couldn’t get that much time off of work back in San Diego. We added it to our list though for future travel. Not sure if climate change has had anything to do with it but temps have been pretty warm on this trip compared to years past. Haha it’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. It’s funny on non filming days sometimes we just eat handfuls of raw kale. It doesn’t even taste bad either because our body is craving veggies usually. 3 markets down, 3 to go 😮💨. Nuremburg is next!
Nice video however you should also visit Christmas market in a small German town for example Ludwigsburg, Erlangen, Jena it's awesome and you get to feel the authentic German Christmas culture.
Thanks so much for watching! That’s an amazing recommendation, unfortunately this trip is already planned but we promise to do more of that on our next visit. We have saved these towns to our list of future travel spots, thanks so much❤️🇩🇪
Our markets really look beautiful. But more and more people cant afford to visit them. You really have to be American to think the prices are cheap. The long Bratwurst was ok I think (comparing to the other stuff). Hope, you enjoy the time here. Have fun.
Thanks so much! We were just saying the same thing. Back home the prices are almost double what you will find here. If you’re bored look up the Chris Cringle Market in Chicago, prices are insane and the quality is not nearly as good! Thanks so much for watching our video we wish you a happy holiday season

I tried Glühwein 3yrs ago for the first time and i didn't like it and Payed 8€😅.. But i like hot Chocolate with Schuss or Egg Punch.. Sad to say that Christmas Market are slowly dying compare 16yrs ago the Christmas Market was realy Huge and Kilometer long and there were Christmas Market everywhere, lot's of food Option i think due to High Prices more and more People Stop VisitingChristmasMarket specialy with Kids it could Costs in one Night 150€..
lol we could see how it’s not for everyone. We found beer at the Prague Christmas market and have never been more excited😂. We’ve been coming to the markets off and on for almost 10 years and in that time it had gotten more expensive and more commercialized but we still think it’s an awesome way to get into the Holliday season.
Visiting a Christmas market is not a highlight of the year for Germans. You go there after work with a few work colleagues or friends, you don't want to spend a fortune there. The prices must therefore correspond to a casual visit. If the price-performance ratio is right, more people will come. The quantity must then bring profit for the entrepreneur while maintaining the same quality.
Ahh true! We did notice a lot of people that looked like they were co-workers who had just gotten off to grab a quick drink before heading home, not many were eating. I’m sure the smaller more local markets have nicer prices. It’s crazy how expensive the deposits has gotten over the years
@@HeresGoodTravel This depends on the time of day. In many German companies the the employes go for a afterwork Glühwein on the Weinachtsmarkt around 17:00 and 22:00. The Christmas markets are also seen as marriage markets or opportunities for a one-night stand. After a few cups of mulled wine, it's easier to get closer to one another.
Nooooo!!! That makes too much sense😂. Does it come with sugar mixed in or do you have to ask? We have a similar drink with hot water, bourbon and honey. Sugar was exactly what it needed.
@@HeresGoodTravel Sometimes you have to add the sugar yourself, they give you little paper bags with sugar or crystalised sugar on a little wooden stick. Maybe it was laying around there for self-serving and you just missed it.
Prices are definitely higher than 3 years ago when we visited. We’ve done Nuremberg and Munich and believe it or not Prague might be the most expensive market so far!
Prices definitely aren’t what they used to be that’s for sure. Some markets with more of a local vibe tend to have better options. There were some amazing stand sprinkled in here
vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen und Kommentieren. Wir lieben Polen, wir haben die Weihnachtsmärkte in Danzig und Krakau besucht und sie waren fantastisch. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! It’s going to be an awesome couple weeks for sure, merry Christmas.
I will lose it anyway, cause a lot of champagne
😂🥳🎄 That’s what the holidays are all about!
Grog is Rum, Hot Water, and sugar. That's why it tasted horrible.
😂lol it would’ve been great with sugar! Next time we try we will ask for them to add sugar to it, thanks for the tip!
Grog is traditionally made with Rum, hot water and brown sugar. So they scammed you for the sugar, it seems like.
GREAT! Thanks so much for the tip!
it is not necessary to admire anything you eat! I am sure some of those you ate are just normal
Christmas magic
as expected in advance: overpriced shit. welcome to germany😀 except the 50cm sausage . 7€ are fine
Prices are definitely higher than 3 years ago when we visited. We’ve done Nuremberg and Munich and believe it or not Prague might be the most expensive market so far!
Ok Alyssa tried the "it's nacho cheese but it's not" joke twice. Wasn't even funny the first time girl! Nice try tho... real nice try...
😭🤦♂️
😂. It really takes three times for it to really land.
Oilballs/Oliebollen are Dutch and the origin of donuts. Failed oilballs by a Dutch baker in New Amsterdam/New York brought the Oliebollen to America,
They look more delicious in the Netherlands. We had some amazing baked goods on our Amsterdam trip but stroopwwaffel still takes the cake.
This is a typical Ukrainian soup.
Amazing! We are hoping to one day visit Ukraine💯
How to glorify rip off Christmas markets.
Prices definitely aren’t what they used to be that’s for sure. Some markets with more of a local vibe tend to have better options. There were some amazing stand sprinkled in here
You talk waaayyyy to much
Noted!
MERRY CHRISTMAS BERLIN🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦❤❤🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
Thanks so much! We have so many more Christmas markets to go but this one will be hard to beat!
"It's so bomb." "Bomb." Yuck. Embarrassing.
The grog was fire!🔥
@@HeresGoodTravel Wow.
You can't get anything good in Berlin...
We would disagree. We had some delicious stuff in Berlin
@HeresGoodTravel but Berlin is really on the lowest Tier 😉 try it outside of Berlin and you'll see it's getting better and better.
why does the food in christmas markets have to be so delicious but at the same time so rich in calorieees 🥲🥲
😂🤯 Lol Preach! It is a tough job but somebody has to do it. If we find a salad stand we promise to get one🥳
BERLIN Christmas Market
It was an amazing Christmas market!
