8:57 Blasphemy..!! 😆There is only one chocolate milk that goes well with a danish hot dog and that is a Cocio chocolate milk in a glass bottle. It is drunk cold in summer and warm in winter. Many hot dog stands have them warm in the winter. 😉Lovely vlog btw, thanks for the visit 😊

What is called remoulade in Denmark is unique to Denmark. It is a mixture of (flavoured) mayo combined with a pickle of a kind.

We had pickled herring in Gdansk a few days prior to this video and werent big fans so we skipped that one. I’ve never heard it called “Italian salad” thanks for that! So the REAL Danish hotdog is the no frills version you get at the classic hotdog carts with a very small menu. Usually served by a person with a lot of character, who will give you a sassy remark or two. These carts used to be all over town, and the owners would use a small engine to pull them around in the streets, which would often slow all traffic to a halt. They were the quintessential Danish street food, but there are not that many of them left these days, except for downtown. John's is an elevated and much respected version of this tradition, which still retains the "street meat" (thank you for that one) spirit. Like you, I feel that most other fancy hotdogs fail to capture this essence.

If you are really "poor" that brunch is really expensive when you get a drink you are actually looking at 200 + kr. Cheaper to go to a local bakery and get a bun with cheese and some coffee. Cheaper yet is 7-11. Especially if it is warm enough to sit outside and enjoy it on a park bench or in the plaza.

DØP definitely is for the more on trend person who wants their dog a little more healthy, but Johns is the way to go for me! He actually convinced the woman in front of us to get hers with everything bc he said he makes his own pickles, onions and remoulade. John’s sausage was also better (at least for me) the casing was snappy and the dog had more flavor!
