Hi Dani, this Elvis 68 Comeback Special was the most watched TV Special that year. And now, 2020, we are still watching this show or segments of it on youtube or DVD! In my opinion this TV Special is the best TV SHOW ever. ELVIS music and memories of this man will never ever die, as long as we keep the memories alive! He indeed came back to show all the "newbies" on the charts why they called him the King. Remember, he only had a few good television shows that were quite tame from what he was doing on the roads. The Beatles, Stones, Doors, and all others were literally kids when Presley was cutting through Texas, Louisiana, Virginia, and throughout the south during the 54-56 years. He put on shows with a whole lot more than what we saw on the Sullivan show or any other show at the time. I think he effectively told the world on this night there was no need for a bunch of music driven songs and I'll prove it. Just him, leather, and the voice.
I was extremely blessed to see him in concert. It was and remains one of the greatest things I've ever experienced. When he walked onto the stage the entire auditorium changed. Time stood still and he sucked all of the energy out and then gave it back.

I agree Danny the 68 come back special is the BEST OF ELVIS. It gives my goosebumps, goosebumps. Nobody like Elvis. HE WILL BE FOREVER THE KING NOT JUST OF ROCK AND ROLL BUT OF MUSIC.😎😘😍🤴🤙💋💞❣
This might be my all-time favorite performance by Elvis. It showcases everything that elevated him from superstar to icon among icons. No man should be able to look this good, move this well, be this humble and personable, have this much raw passion and stage presence, be this capable a guitar player, and sing with such a lethal combination of power, grit, and tenderness. It wasn't just that Elvis had it all, which in and of itself is more than all but a few artists in the history of music can claim. It's that he had it all, and each element at a level so clearly above anyone else who came before or since. I'm not sure how anyone can look at this performance and not understand why Elvis was (and always will be) so special.
I am a huge country music fan and I live in Nashville, so I have been lucky enough to attend the Opry a number of times. Bill Anderson is one of country music's biggest stars and he is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. When I went it was mostly in the 60's and back then the Ryman Auditorium, where the Opry was held at that time, was not air conditioned and in the summer, it would be sweltering hot, and the windows would be standing open to let in any stray breeze that might be stirring. Of course, with the "cool air" that came in, also a lot of bugs came in because there were no screens in the windows, and they were especially attracted to the stage because of all the bright lights on the stage. One night Bill Anderson was singing, and a bug flew in his mouth. He merely swallowed the bug and kept on singing. Elvis when his guitar became unplugged and Bill when he swallowed the bug knew enough to just keep going because they were true entertainers and they had learned that "the show must go on!"
In the 1968 special Elvis was like a boxer coming back to get his title back. Nothing else since the 50s is this good. If you don’t have 3 disc set you will miss the best part of the show. The world owes Steve Binder everything, because if they would have done the Christmas special the Colonel Parker wanted to do there would have never been a comeback. I have studied Elvis life in detail and he knew this was going to be great. From the opening until ending with If I Could Dream Elvis was unsurpassed in music history, this is the single greatest performance by any artist. The show was taped in June of 68, but was not televised until December. Elvis never song If I Could Dream again he left it all on there and I believed he knew he could put the emotion in it like he did. When they recorded the song Elvis had all the lights turned off and you could not see him from the sound room. When they turned the lights back on he laying on the floor in the fetal position grasping the mike. If I remember correctly when you see him doing the song at the end of the special he was lip singing to the recording he made in the studio.
Ok...... excuse me while I get back up from the floor. He’s the King for a reason. Thanks so much for your reactions. You deserve 4,000 & much more. Bless you.
This part of the show was based on Elvis's jam sessions with the guys. Steve Binder would see and hear Elvis jamming and said that he had to put them in the show somehow. The 68 comeback is iconic. So iconic that NBC did a special tribute to it on it's 50th aniversery.
Elvis is the best singer and entertainer ever and the '68 comeback special is clear proof. No one else could top a show and performance like that. I like your reaction. You looked like you really enjoyed this performance. You are right about the grit in Elvis' voice. He had such raw power in his singing ability. I enjoyed this reaction video.

Despite be over 52 years ago, Elvis still looks timeless and unbelievably cool. I'd like to request Mystery Train/ Tiger Man from Vegas, 1970. Here is the link, th-cam.com/video/asN0iLQCcKY/w-d-xo.html. Your reactions are great, thanks again Dani!!
This is from another world impossibe
He is born on earth noway to perfect
There was Elvis.....and then everyone else.
He stands alone.
GREAT job on this reaction. Elvis rabbit hole...good one :)

Just fantastic!
No one above The King 💫
He sure is handsome and nice and generous
Love you Dani.
IS PERFECT!!!
you right Dani you will be so in love with Elvis that you will be needing him every day
He is the prince from another planet!
wonderful ........
Ok...... excuse me while I get back up from the floor. He’s the King for a reason. Thanks so much for your reactions. You deserve 4,000 & much more. Bless you.
Yeah, ”beacause he’s just that cool”... and the King of just about f-cking everything when it comes to singing, entertainment and music
68 Special is also my favorite. Elvis was Vocal God.
You can't beat Elvis in the black leather god he was so sexy awesome of course stay safe 😷✌
This part of the show was based on Elvis's jam sessions with the guys. Steve Binder would see and hear Elvis jamming and said that he had to put them in the show somehow. The 68 comeback is iconic. So iconic that NBC did a special tribute to it on it's 50th aniversery.
Elvis reassembled his original band for this show.
