    Love the content Harvey. That 372 was cutting like that log was butter. Looking thru my parts room I found a husky 371k cut off saw been up there for prob 10 years. Well I see good in everything and grabbed bec I immediately noticed the oil tank and the other similarities to a 371xp or 72xp so I gutted it down of all the concrete saw attachments and she's def a chainsaw converter to a concrete cutter. 150lbs of compression so that's getting all the parts to be resurrected into a wood saw. It'll be a 372xp when I'm done.

    Really wish there were an American saw company around still , we’ve got some of the greatest saw builders , that know what works and what doesn’t , it’s a shame some of you couldn’t get together and design something that could be produced here

      Same with Canada, we should both be making our own saws. Then we could have Canada vs USA for some healthy competition to keep things advancing.

    I used to be a tree arborist, play with my ported 460 every chance possible.

    Hey iron horse can you do a build on a 50cc class saw to make them a bigger and better running saw??? I’ve been trying to get a bigger saw but the weight of like a jonsred 2159 saw!! I’m a shorter guy at 4’10” tall and my back is pretty messed up and the heavier saws are just killing me nowadays!!! I have a jonsered 2159cc saw and I absolutely love it but I definitely need a bigger saw to run a 24” bar to 28” bar!! We burn wood but it has definitely been hard the last couple years being able to cut the firewood because of my back!!! I absolutely love cutting wood and also getting the exercise while doing it just makes me feel so good!!! Any help would definitely be appreciated!!! I absolutely love watching what you can do with a saw also!!! Awesome video buddy and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!

      It’s kinda going around the end but if you aren’t really familiar with the echo 590’s at $499… they have a exhaust duration of like 114… so they aren’t super zippy but because of their massive duration they have incredible torque for a 60cc size saw…they are light and cheap and they pull the 28” bar without much issue! Might want to check around and see if you might find someone around you and arrange a 28” bar test drive… they do things that a 60cc size saw’s shouldn’t be able to do… they don’t have that blasting 14,000 top rpm race car response… but I’m not thinking that’s what you need… the cut speed is just fine and their massive amount of torque has guy’s playing around with the 32’s and 36’s where no 60cc saw dare tread… I’m not going there but they will spin the 28” bar no problem… and they are light weight and the $499 brand new price just crushes any competition from the two big guy’s… they don’t either have anything that can complete without $300 bucks more cash at least!!!! Might want to try one out!

    Really enjoyed your comments on your drag motor. I'm 70 and have been an automotive machinist for 40 years. Totally agree with still being a teenager from the ears up. First crank I stroked was a Keith black 460. Stroked it .250 and it worked well.
    I have an odd motor combo and would appreciate your thoughts. It is a 267 small block. 3.5 " bore with a 400 s.b. crank with mains ground down. Looking for better mileage with good low end torq. Putting it in a pickup. Would appreciate your thoughts.

    • @theironhorse6600
      @theironhorse6600  ปีที่แล้ว

      Put a 283 crank in it! With a 450 carb it would be quick and crazy! And great mileage! I’ll calculate the cu inches!

    I did a similar mod to my 372 top cover. I drilled a 1.5" hole and put frog skin over the hole... I swear I see the screen suck in as I snap the throttle... I'd be interested to do a smoke test...
    Thinking further, why couldn't we drill holes in between the carb compartment and the cylinder? Would hot cooling air blow into the carb, or would carb compartment air blow across the cylinder for minor extra cooling?
    Hmmm. Pressure differential!
