Harvey great video! I just finnished a 272 build and it gives me some confidence as I do similar shaping to my transfers. 272 is a nasty saw when ported.
Hi Harvey and Cullen!!😀😀 I like seeing how you are doing the porting and what you are ending up with. I would like to see what you do with the Stihl cylinders. I might give it a try sometime. Keep up the good work!!😀😀 Take care my friends and stay safe and healthy!!😀😀❤❤ Logger Al
Thanks very good info , I never knew about the wrist pin clip. Back in the late 60's I ported my mac. Go cart engines the only difference was I didn't know exactly what I was doing.
You are right about the rough inlets.. once had a Honda with rough inlets, polished them....and the engine had less power when we measured. Honda made the inlets extra rough to support flow I guess. Thank you for the video from the netherlands!
Hey Ironhorse! I have another nickname for you. I call you the Bibbed-Baddass lol because you always got your bibs on. I wear mine all the time too, brother! Love your videos keep em coming im learning through you! Thanks
One day you're going to have to take a part one saw after like ten tanks to Show them what you're talkin about how the air and the fuel will spray into the cylinder like a fuel injection mist then you can explain to them about the wash pattern on top of the piston spread all around instead of just pouring straight down the cylinder onto the piston. Like carbon up in one area.. I need a little bit of information again from you I was waiting for Kenzie to get back with me but have a good day keep up the videos and we all got to do live again you got to try it for me one more time please we was having fun love you be good stay healthy wash your hands..lol
Loving the saw videos.. awesome. Hey I was curious and maybe you know the answer now if you open the bottom of the transfers up and the tunnels up but just widen the uppers enough to “aim” their flow that keeps velocity up higher correct?
I know that aluminum can be tacky to your rotary files. We would use soap or wax so it wouldn’t stick. Another thing we would do is take long screw that is the size of your dremel . Cut the head off and cut down the center of that. Place a piece of cut sandpaper in there to get to those hard to reach places or get a finer polish.
Hey Iron horse it’s Joe from Canada Just wondering what carb work needs to be done after porting? I guess it all depends but in general do the carbs have enough adjustments after the work?
If I heard right from a previous video you said were going with the 390/372 carb for this 272build. where on the case did you end up going with the Impulse line?
Hi IRONHORSE could you do one of your tutorial videos of how you would do a full mod on an 038 av super/mag!? I have both the super and mag and would love to see how you would mod them! There are few vids about but I just love your style of doing things and I think you could do a better job of explaining things to newbies like myself
Ironhorse how much to go over my saw and hop it up Its an older ProMac 610 Hasen't run in years I do know it needs muffler and carb work and the toiler has issues
DOES ANYONE MAKE A BAR AS GOOD AS THE OLD SUGOHARAS? JUST BOUGHT A NEW (CHEAP) HOLZFORMA 24" AND NOTICED THE GROOVE IS NOT CENTERED-ONE SIDE THINNER THAN THE OTHER. SEEMS TILTED WEAR IS THE ONLY POSSIBLE RESULT. AM I'M I ON CLOUD 9 OR DIALED-IN, HARVEY?
Hey I’ve got some 272 parts if you want them i ordered a complete rebuild but guy didn’t do it so I’ve got piston jug muffler idk what else but yeah if you want them let me know I’m not gonna do anything with it
Hew Iron Horse! Just dump those cancer sticks! We are a selfish bunch, and want you around a little longer. Just an observation Not trying to be a preacher

Do you ever touch upper transfers?
@@GreatLakesLogger yep when needed
Very good explanation of the pitfall of polishing any channel that flows a fuel air mixture.

Awesome so cool to see the work that goes into these great saw builds. Looks to me like you are turning chainsaws into Powersaws I love it. 🌲❤🌲✊
Harvey you do stones or sandpaper step ups. Even tho aluminum load sandpaper up easier.
I like haw you do that it looks good
Yer the best. My single brain cell loves learning from ya

how ya all going
Have you ever had any issues with this porting of the cylinder causing the liner to flake and starts to chip off during use
Rough transfer mixes the flow .
good info!. thanks for video. be kind.
Hey Harv what was wrong with the original cylinder? It didn't look bad?
More space means more room for mr bang bang to sing her Smokey song!!👌
