I'll be honest. This version of the Master is the best. Mostly because he's actually REALLY similar to the Doctor in some ways. You could even argue that he's exactly the same, save that his goal is to rule the universe as opposed to healing it (heavily indicated by name choices). Other than that, they both wear kooky outfits, keep companions around, have odd quirks, can go from serious to joking in two seconds flat, and REALLY dislike traitors.
I think, as much as I'm enjoying parts of the latest series, its THIS madness and campy fun that's the missing link. Mind you I'd forgotten how sinister it is at the same time.
A Magnificent Bastard is a genius villain who isn't afraid to handle things personally, who always does things in style, who is too smart to fall for other villain-related tropes, who manages to turn the odds in their favor no matter HOW stacked the odds previously were, and who, despite being so completely evil and horrible, everyone in the audience kinda likes them. The only two I can think of? Lionel Luthor of Smallville, and this version of The Master. Gotta love 'em.
i had a dream once where the Master and Moriarty teamed up and Sherlock and the Doctor teamed up. and the two groups were fighting until something so bad happened (i don't remember what) that the four of them teamed up to fight it together! i really want to watch that movie!
Simm's Master was a terrifying bit of genius, taking everything 10 was and turning it against him, the most perfect effort by The Master to mock and degrade everything The Doctor was - though of course doomed to failure because he simply doesn't fully understand who and what The Doctor is.
I remember first knowing about this song when the master (from doctor who)"dancing to this in Utopia. It was entertaining when the Master was lip-syncing/ dancing.

Love this so much! Love when he dances and pushes Ten in the wheelchair and Ten is just like... Seriously dude having enough fun yet? Also when he huddles in the corner and Ten just comes over and hugs him :) Love that so much! Simm's version of the Master ties for my favourite villain only to the wonderful Matt Smith as Mr Clever.

It doesn't really matter, seeing as the paradox is reversed and the team probably hightails out of Tibet and back to Cardiff in time to meet up with Jack and Mr. Blowfish-head.
He swore that he would not bring The Cybermen back and The Master. He said that Rose wouldn't come back and that's now mainsteam news in the UK. He also admitted in an interview last week, he will always lie and good for him too.
I'm pretty new to the new series of Doctor Who, I'm only up to season 4, but I love it. John Sim as the Master is almost as hot as David Tennant's Doctor and both together is (was) a joy to watch. I'm such a nerd. :)

For everything RTD did right or wrong on the show, at least unlike Phillip Segal he had the brains to cast an actor as the Master who understood how to play the part and had halfway decent, if incredible, chemistry with the actor playing the Doctor.
I think it sums up the Master's feelings to the Doctor. It's a Love-Hate relationship. He's hates the Doctor for foiling his plans but he loves him for able to keep up - a worthy foe. It's like the Batman and the Joker, except more of a Ra'az Al Ghul on the Masters part. They're two of the smartest beings in all creation and everytime they meet... sparks fly!
