  • CZ P-10S close look and range review. We also put it side-by-side with 8 other guns in the crowded ultra-compact pistol class: Glock 26, Glock 48, HK P30SK (LEM); Kimber R7 Mako, Sig P365XL, S&W Shield Plus, Taurus G3c and Taurus GX4. How does the P-10S stack up against the competition?

Bore axis is not the issue that many make it out to be, unless it is extreme. For this class of guns, I prefer the HK P30SK or VP9SK over the P-10S, mainly because the triggers make shooting more pleasant. Bore axis is pretty close on the HK guns, as well as the P-10 and even the Glock 19.

Questions and Comments: How important is to you? With cooler temps, I’m back to carrying one of my S&W 686+ revolvers with a speed loader. I’ll sometimes carry a 642 in my jacket pocket while driving, because my Miata makes drawing from the hip a little difficult. You mentioned the slide stop, and I was wonder if you run a gun dry before reloading. I watch the Police Activity channel on TH-cam, and some officers change mags after the first volley, and others wait for the gun to run dry. Thanks for Sharing! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Frank, as always, thank you for watching and commenting. I doubt I'll carry the P-10S much, if at all. My go-to will still be my Wilson EDC X9, or Staccato C, maybe even the C2, but the shape of the grip on the C2 makes it less concealable than the others. I also carry a 642 in my jacket pocket in the winter when I'm driving.
As to reloading, it depends. I have this unconscious habit of counting my rounds, so when I'm running the gun, I generally reload before running it dry, but I train both ways, just in case.

Yes, but with that size, you get significantly better shootability. None of the super slim micro 9's can compete with the P-10s when it comes to actually shooting, but they are definitely easier to conceal.
      There's a tradeoff to everything, I guess!

I shot the Hellcat Pro, which I really wanted to like, next to a Shield Plus and the Hellcat was way more snappy and less accurate than the shorter Shield Plus. I'd easily take the Shield Plus over the Hellcat and I bought the 15rd magazine for the Shield Plus so capacity is the same. Also just ordered the P10S which I should have this week, which by all accounts should shoot as well or better than the Shield Plus. Definitely not "obsolete boat anchors".
