I absolutely love my P10C. It is quite possibly my favorite handgun ever, and I have owned handguns that were around the 2k price point. I understand, yet also don't understand the capacity debate. You are correct that data suggests that most defensive shootings don't need that many rounds. Data suggests that more than 95% of defensive shootings occur under 10 feet and are over in 3 rounds or less. I don't go places where I am likely to ever have to defend myself. I keep my head on a swivel. I also train a lot with handguns. I carried a Glock 43 for a while and I was more than confident in my abilities with it. People like to say, "it is better to be prepared for any situation". Yet they don't understand that such a statement is an impossibility. If they actually stood behind that argument, why aren't those people all carrying Glocks with multiple spare 33 round mags all along their belt. Then they say "because weight is painful". I like to say "oh, so because it is uncomfortable for you, you are going to sacrifice capacity"? People need to just let other people do their own thing with firearms and not judging others by what they do. I am gonna buy this P10M and give it a chance.

I used to really dislike this pistol and thought CZ made a really poor choice releasing this when they did. But after some thought, 7+1 is more than a J Frame can carry, it will have actual usable sights unlike a lot of J frames, and this would probably make a great pocket carry pistol.
If I didn't have a Shield Plus, I might consider one of these, especially for around $250 at Dahlonega Armory.

some other good things about a large trigger guard that are nice: if you're wearing gloves, you can actually get your finger into the guard. if there is one thing CZ does well, it's making a gun that feels natural to grip, point, and squeeze. I'm worried the trigger and capacity weaken this option, but CZ did a lot to slim down this gun in a way that makes it more straightforward and foolproof to carry and, God forbid, use.

  • @robertrichardson9794

I want to love the P-10 M, especially for the price. These micro compact guns, no matter the model, have so many compromises in the name of smallness that its hard to justify $500-$800 for the 43x, Hellcat, Shield, 365, HK etc. So at $250 it makes those compromises easy to accept. The 7+1 capacity has been belabored here, and for good reason. But my main concern is not having a slide release. When every other semiautomatic pistol you shoot has one, I would hate to be in a self defense scenario and for whatever reason the slide is locked back and my muscle memory has me looking for the slide release. I know, train train train. But unless this is the only gun you're going to shoot, training will not suffice for peace of mind. Add a nice little slide release and IDGAF about the 7+1!

    • @davidingram7808
      @davidingram7808 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I hope your training also includes clearing malfunctions. Which would involve pulling the slide back. In a self defense scenario, thinking you have a round chambered when your thumb has accidentally hit the slide release could be fatal. That don't happen with this handgun.

I see this gun get a hate because of its capacity. It gets compared to the P365, Hellcat, etc. Its a single stack. I don't think its made to compete with the high capacity micro 9mm's. I think its a great gun but the masses do not seem to agree. Plus the lack of aftermarket holsters and accessories is abysmal which I am sure is due to lack of sales of popularity of it.
In my opinion its built is better than a G43. I personally love it. I think it is just hard for it when the market is saturated with high capacity micro's. Fair enough sure. But some of us like single stacks for various reasons.

Looks like a great budget option, and it sure is beautiful.
But there are just too many guns in the same profile with better capacity. Sure, you can claim the "3 shots 3 yards" nonsense, but I've watched a defensive use of a firearm once a day for 10 years, and almost all of them involve the defender emptying their gun, maybe injuring someone, and then relying on the "run from bullets" factor to keep them safe.
Having been in a defensive situation myself, I thought I shot 3 times, but I was 8 rounds down when I checked. Being empty and hoping that there are no angry, isolated, or injured and armed people around is not my idea of a good time.
In an age where you can have 12 rounds in your front pocket or 16 comfortably in an appendix, I see no reason to carry what is effectively a mag-fed revolver.
With that said, I like the gun and plan on owning one.

This gun would have done great for a concealed carry gun back when the CC market was dominated by the Glock 26, 43, S&W Shield and the Sig P238 and single stack 9's were more common place for deep conceal. Nowadays this gun really only would make waves as a back up or maybe in states still requiring less than 10 round capacity.

The usual safety trio in striker pistols are blade on the trigger to eliminate inertial risk in a drop, firing pin block in the way until trigger is pulled fully to the rear, and half-cock (not fully tensioned) striker spring. It's a pretty good trio of fail safes for drop safety, so I would want to know CZ's thinking if they left out the firing pin block, especially if they fully cock the striker spring.

Everyone can't afford both a home defense and a concealed carry firearm. So they need a firearm they can serve as both. And the Glock 19 is too big. Three rounds is no longer enough to scare off Attackers. Because you have multiple people attacking you now and they're all armed. When they do home invasions, it's three or four people coming in and they're armed? So capacity is a big deal now. A hellcat. You can carry 14 rounds. And a backup 15 round magazine. and put a light on it for Home defense. As far as this CZ. It looks nice, but no slide release and capacity Is a problem for me. But to each his own.

I love cz, but this one was a huge failure for when it came out. Especially when compared to it’s competition. No features, no night sights, no optic cut, not enough texture for that small of a grip, no slide stop/release, and lowest capacity in its class. Imo they should discontinue this and bring back the Rami. For the price of this, I could get an optic ready shield plus with almost double the capacity, and night sights.

It’s a budget carry CZ gun what are you talking about? Plenty of texture for the small grip, actually very aggressive texture in the front and back. Great serrations on the slide. It’s a single stack, meant to be slimmer and lighter not higher capacity. People that need 10+ for concealed carry don’t practice shooting. It’s not supposed to have a slide stop, it’s supposed to be snag free. Also a better trigger than most small CCWs. You act like you’re talking about a 600$ gun or something.

@@londonapologeticsyou act like this isn’t a 10 month old comment and the P10M wasn’t closer to $500 when I wrote it. It’s still just a CZ version of the G43 with no controls released 5 years later. Decent backup pocket carry, other than that there’s not much point and much better options with more features, better triggers and higher capacity.
