The trigger for me is a dealbreaker. I love the cz both the c and the s for the trigger. I like the front and rear serations on the slide, the stippling on the grip the sights. For me the cz has it all.

The P-10s felt great in the hand with a dot mounted, sweet stock trigger too. Hopefully it doesn't experience issues like its big brother. I like the entire M&P line but I'm not a fan of the hinged trigger nor an aftermarket trigger for carry. If I were to pick between the two it would be the CZ.
Nice work on the comparison, well done.

I started with CZ when the first 75's were imported. Mainly because of the price. I now have the P10 set F,C,and S. For me they just fit my hand perfectly. For conceal carry, I’ve owned the P365, the XL, the Hellcat, and I’ve decided on the 2.0 Subcompact 9mm as well. It conceals really well, I still get 13 rounds, it handles like a full size in the grip even though it’s not, it fits like a glove, seriously, and it shoots well and always consistent. Honestly this M&P really surprised me, it’s my favorite all around conceal carry. Or home defense once I put the 17 round mag in the subcompact. It’s almost perfect.

I have both the Smith and Wesson 2.0 compact 4" barrel and the CZ P-10S 9mm's both are good for concealed carry and though they both have great triggers I find the CZ P-10S trigger seems a little faster shooting but my 2.0 M&P compact holds more rounds instead of 12 + 1 like the CZ P-10S it holds 15 + 1 or 17 + 1 depending on the magazine you choose to use! I don't think I can say a certain winner between the two so I am going to say it's a tie!!! 👍

If you are in the fence the choice is easy. My experience with both firearm manufacturers in regards to repairs for two totally different guns than shown here is night and day. CZ returned my pistol in 3 weeks. On the S&W I am still waiting to get it back. It’s been over two months, and I haven’t heard anything other than they received it. I went with the P10S for two reasons... that tiny bit of extra grip on the magazine is enough to give me a firm grip as opposed to a mostly 3 finger grip on the M&P. The second, the CZ, to me, is noticeably thinner as opposed to the thicker, more blocky M&P. I own several M&P guns including a Compact 2.0, a 9c original, a Bodyguard 380 and a couple of Shields, the 2.0 Shield 9 being my deep concealment carry gun. But for me, the P10S is finally the perfect double stack sized carry gun with an outstanding trigger.

The 10S has tritium night sights, The Shield has fiber optic sights and the Sig has tritium/I have a red dot on mine. I’ve carried the first gen M&P9c off duty for over 10 years. No, it’s not the smallest or has a good trigger, but it has duty size performance in a carry all day package. Standing head shots at 25 yards all day long. Accepts a 17 round mag. Accepts an OLight PL Mini. Made in the USA. Zero failures. Lifetime Warranty. Case closed.

I'm an American and I buy All American... That's why I started with the M&P. I'm with you in that I wish they had flat triggers & were optics ready. Even with those desires missing, I absolutely love the 2.0s. They fit like a glove & the texture just allows for a better grip which also mitigates recoil. I use Gunbuyer.com & they're sale prices have been around $350 with no tax, no shipping nor any additional fees. In comparison to others with these non-American guns I've been able to buy 2 M&Ps versus only 1 less desirable guns. I would still choose the M&P 2.0 even if priced the same, but saving money just allows me to buy more guns, mags, ammo & training!

Jeff Pendrey I hear ya with buying American. Just FYI these polymer frame CZ’s are being produced in the states, Kansas City I believe. So while the company isn’t based here it is employing Americans

Wayn V Good points. I understand the economics of it. However most people are going to buy what they perceive to be the superior products IE: Glock, CZ , Sig. over buying American. All those manufacturers have at least assembly operations in the states. The local economy benefits from those jobs and at least some of the money stays here.

Completely agree with your eval on these. Wish Smith would offer all their M&P line with OR options. With that said the M&P 2.0 fits my hand better(even though I carry my P-10c everywhere I go while at my ranch, but that’s why I got it(ranch tool not to be modified)). But I’ve been looking at these to help decide which full size to go with too(for mag compatibility). its hard because out of box, CZ is way better hands down, but if you get an optics cut, and a trigger the M&P runs away(IMO), but that adds time and money invested.

Good Video. Why didn't you change the trigger shoe on the M&P like you did on the CZ since you don't like it. I've owned both the Shield and the CZ p10c, looking to get a P-10s soon, I can find a few minor negatives with the Shield but none with the CZ.

I just recently bought and started carrying the P10 s, this after carrying the M&P 9c for ten year's. It was easy to buy the P10s after owning three other CZs, the grip on the S is perfect for me. I find the CZ to be more....shotabul than the M&P9c. I must admit I'm disappointed in Smith&Wesson, I feel they are always running behind the competition. I've owned several M&Ps (1.0) and absolutely love the beautiful guns. I swear to God, if CZ releases another generation of guns that don't take the same magazines, I'm going to scream. Hah
    Good video sir.

The flush fit magazine on the P10S would pinch my pinky between the base plate and the bottom of the frame at the grip every time I fired off a round. Other than that it was one of the Top 3 most impressive subcompacts I have shot. If not for the pinch I would have bought one immediately after running only 2 magazines through it.

I have both guns and love them both. However, the trigger and slightly better ergonomics of the CZ puts it slightly ahead. Much thought went into the way the gun fits your hand with under cuts in the right places. It makes the gun flatter shooting for quick follow ups.

Solid review. I really enjoy my CZp10c original offering and my S&W 2.0's. Both are fantastic performers. My only issue is S&W dragging their butts with performance upgrades, especially red dot options. In today's market, ALL of these should have the plate option for a reasonable upgrade and price, to include threaded barrel and suppressor height sights...does not mean you "have" to purchase those options, but they should be a full factory options IMO. My 2.0's with apex trigger upgrades for outstanding.

I would love both but if I could only have one I'd go with the CZ. Trigger, optic ready, front night sight from factory and rounded trigger guard so no Glock knuckle. Also seen these 50-100 less than the 2.0. Sucks that it's discontinued.

That’s a great comparison. I don’t have the M&p sc yet but I do have the 2.0 compact and the cz sc. I think the cz sc is the Goldilocks size. It’s like trying to pick your favorite child. I think I prefer the M&p grip texture a little but also love the texture on the cz. I definitely prefer the the tactile reset on the cz. For me I absolutely think the HBI trigger shoe feels better on my finger. I don’t mind the stock trigger on the M&p but did put an apex trigger in it and do like it very well. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. If smith had an optics cut on the sub compact I would have one ordered. I think most all new handguns should offer a cut.

  • @bdm1000
    @bdm1000 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Great comparison. One gun I'd really like to see someone review is the relatively new M&P M2.0 Subcompact in .45 ACP which came out I believe shortly before the 9mm version. It's a stretch to call it a "subcompact", but if you compare it with the "compact" (which also has a 4.0") and the full-size (4.6"), I think it's the best size for a .45 ACP. It's going to be easier to manage than a Shield 45 for all the same reasons the Subcompact in 9mm is better (I own both as well), and with the mag extensions you can make it a full or compact sized grip, but you can take the edge off as well for those times when it's difficult to conceal larger grips. In fact, it's kind of like choosing between the M2.0 Compact 3.6 and the Subcompact. It's hard to justify the gun with the larger grip. I don't think too many people are going to conceal an M&P 45 with a 4.6" barrel. But when you look at the Compact 45 vs Subcompact 45, and the fact you can get the Subcompact for as low as $419 shipped, I am surprised I cannot find a single review, but I can find the 45 Shield all day long. It's not any thicker than a 9mm either. In fact, if you look at the detailed specs, it says it's thinner (snwcdnprod.azureedge.net/sites/default/files/spec-sheets/12481-12482.pdf vs. snwcdnprod.azureedge.net/sites/default/files/spec-sheets/12103-12104.pdf). I know that is just likely a rounding error, but the point is that it isn't any thinker and with a flush magazine it's comparable in height to a G19. All things considered it seems like the perfect gun for anyone who likes 45 or wants one on hand in the event 9mm becomes unavailable again. Taking ANY statistics with a grain of salt (perhaps a boulder), the .45 caliber in general is also more accurate than even .357 SIG or even CENTERFIRE RIFLES IN ACTUAL GUNFIGHTS (www.buckeyefirearms.org/alternate-look-handgun-stopping-power). That might be within the margin of error of .357 SIG/Centerfire rifles or it may not (it really isn't that kind of study), but it certainly has an advantage over 9mm. I also like slightly heavier guns because it keeps my hands steadier and swings smoother and more naturally (just like the handling characteristics of a longer shotgun barrel prompts many shooters to choose a 28" over a 26" barrel).

I’ve been carrying the P10S for almost a year now, and I think the pinky thing you’re talking about is the magazine pinching your finger. At least that’s what happen with me. I recommend the OEM +2 or the Hyve baseplate. They help fill in that gap. You can also swap the pinky extension from a 2.0 onto the P10 mag and it will work.

I'm an old LEO guy. When I retired in 2009 my Sheriff gave me the handgun of my choice as a retirement gift. I looked at a lot of guns and settled on the M&P sub compact as a constant carry gun. After 11 years and many, many rounds later, not one malfunction has occurred. I did smooth out some of the moving parts of the trigger assembly and cut a couple of rounds off of the safety plunder spring for an improved feel. I also added HYVE mag extensions to two of my mags and dressed it in Talon grips. This gentlemen, is a close combat fighting weapon that I know like the back of my hand and trust my life to. No need to be trying other brands.

I don't want to add/change things to a defensive pistol like I would with an AR. That's just me. But can you changed out the hinged trigger on the M&P? I realize that is their choice of safety instead of using the trigger dingus or relying on a long trigger pull.
