The studio I had for a little while (randomly the very next door was Steve Mould, we always talked about doing something together, but then Covid came) was much more echoey than yours due to being insanely high and acoustic panelling (including some from Matt Gray, I just can’t stop namedropping today) were nowhere near as good nor as cheap as a big acoustic blanket. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Another bargain option if you don't mind a bit of DIY is to buy rockwool (which is usually used for loft insulation), build a wooden frame around it, and then cover the whole thing in fabric to keep it inside. Many thanks to my dad for bringing his tools during our one time together in 2020 and helping to make the sound panels that make my videos less echoey to this day!

Have you read “the future we choose”? It has a pretty similar tone to that video and was one of the main books that catalysed my climate action, it’s fantastic

OMG having a structurally separated working space is life changing! My husband and I started our business in our home which was okay but we eventually moved houses and now we have the workshop on a completely separate floor with a separate entry from outside and we only realized afterwards now much of a difference it makes. Congratulations to everything! The kid, the studio, the saved channel... sometimes people just don't realize that they actually do want to support a creator and I'm glad you spoke about it before it was too late. The excitement about the upcoming videos is so nice to see. That excitement for the subject is what makes your channel so appealing, together with the scientific approach to a usually very emotional subject.

And with what is basically a clean slate to start with, you have so many opportunities to implement some of the things you’ve spoken about in earlier videos, like heat pumps! Heat pumps, solar panels, tankless water heaters, etc etc etc. you could even make a whole series on making your home more efficient and environmentally friendly! I know I’d thoroughly enjoy something like that. If you haven’t read it, Bill Nye’s ‘Unstoppable’ talks about a bunch of different ways he made his home a lot more energy efficient.
