In this video, I discuss what NP school is like. I finished with my second semester of PMHNP school and I talk about how the program has been so far, and what I learned to be successful in NP school.
I had a challenging Advanced Pharmacology class and missed hitting my target grade by just 1.3 points! My other class was Health Policy and I did well in that one.
What is NP school like? Watch now and find out what I learned about being successful in NP school, how this semester applies to my PMHNP specialty, and what I might do differently in the next semester!

Rick you didn't say which AI tool you used. I start adv pharmacology in a few weeks. Just finished my first term. Thanks to your suggestions.

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment. I’m not sure which tool I referenced in that video, but there are three AI tools I use. ChatGPT, of course, Consensus.app (helps narrow down research references and citations), and SciSummary (summarizes specific research papers based on your prompts). All have free (but limited use) versions and paid versions. I am using the paid versions. Hope this answers your question. Have you joined our community? Any other topics you’d like me to address on the channel or in our community communications?

You have a voice for radio 😮you should consider starting a podcast 💪🏼

@troy1044, thank you for the comment and for watching the video. I think that is a good idea, but while I am in school it is all about time. I can barely get the videos out, especially during this semester. I will be a guest on the Elite Nurse Practitioner podcast in the upcoming months. Please consider subscribing to the channel if you think it is appropriate for you!

Welcome to the channel! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Please feel free to share your experiences about any of the topics I post about. That is one of the reasons I started the channel, was to help other PMHNP (and NP) students connect, support, and learn from each other. If you subscribe, it will help TH-cam get the content out to other students as well !!

Do you have one for after the first semester? I'm about to start my first semester and I'm an nurse in the ED also.

Thanks for watching and commenting! No 1st semester video, I did not think to start the channel until later on. I have included a list of all the resources I use in the video descriptions. What is your first class?

Justin, thanks for watching the video and for commenting. Please consider subscribing, if you have not already done so, it really helps out the channel. I was in my mid 50’s when I started my RN career. I have a business background and private practice was always the ultimate goal. Where are you in your nursing career?

@@MyPMHNPJourney I'm not a nurse. I've been in corporate and contracting all my life. I'm thinking about going into nursing. I really appreciate the information and I am inspired by your story.

@@jparkx24 Similar background. I think nursing is a great “second” career for many reasons. Please feel free to contact me about any questions you have while making your decision!
