Many thanks for this video , bringing back happy memories of my first car , a mk 2 Cavalier Gli In Mexico Red registration D448USS , I wish I still had it today .
Good video. I love that generation of OHC Vauxhalls. I know my way around that engine bay with my eyes closed. So easy and cheap to fix, it's a shame the tin worm finished most of them off before their time, those engines would have just kept going.
I had cavalier GLS areg automatic loved interior very up market had 6 dial clocks nova SR steering wheel my cavalier had bad sills wheel arches I didn't have money to get mig welder back in 90s car got scrapped biggest. regret of my life I did have cavalier sri130 and CDI after that old a reg GLS was solid compared to my old 130 wish put sri drive train engine suspension into it but that's life lol
Great to see the old “ca-valié” again! Looking forward to seeing it being brought back to life! Also “hearing aid beige” 🤣 Well done. Another great video. 👍🏻
Great work! I wish I owned a mark 2 Cavalier when I had the chance! They were quite affordable by the time I passed my driving test. This particular one is maybe 3rd from the bottom of the range - there were the 1.3 base and 1.6 base specs that had tweed upholstery and I believe had no sunroof. I had a Vauxhall/Opel brochure from 1987 that I read a bit too much!
Hi thanks for the great comment ! Its nice to know its not right at the bottom ! Im assuming the smallest engine though being the 1.3, all the best MEC 👍👍👍
Can't beat a mk2 cavalier. My dad had a couple back in the day. Had a hatch back 1.6 GL what was on a 1980s Y plate one then got a B reg 1.3 saloon. Bloody lovely motors really enjoyed seeing your one. Good video mare keep them coming 👍🏼
Got my parents old Carlton gsi 1988. They bought it new. It was a 3 liter 12 valve but I put a 24 valve 3.6 with a lotus crank in it now. And hydraulic clutch. Original engine and gearbox is on the shelf so can be put back to original
@@mec-tec yes it runs so good. Very nice and smooth. On the outside it's stock except for the wing from a lotus Carlton that was wrecked in the UK. Original wing is on the shelf again so it can be put back to stock
@@mec-tec Yes I like to do a bit of custom work but never more then it can be put back to original. I have an Astra mk1 too with only 6000 original miles. Looks like new! That I have brakes from a mk3 gte on. Original was almost dangerous and I don't want to wreck it. People drive like crazy here in Sweden so good brakes is a must. But again easy to put back to stock
Great video, I have enjoyed this throughly, I always wanted to record doing little bits on my cavalier like you have but I think I may well have actually get on and do it instead of just working on it, but you have really made it enjoyable to watch. I have subscribed. Cheers. Steve.
Hi Steve Thanks for the lovely comment, i really appreciate it ! There will be another Cavalier video this coming friday 👍👍glad you enjoyed it Regards MEC
